2 Month Update.....

Aug 14, 2007

8-14-07
Hi Folks,
As of 8/12, I'm 2 months post-op.  I'm 26.5 pounds down and feeling great! I'm loving my increased energy.  I can tell that I've lost some inches but because of my "monthly bloating" I don't believe them to be accurate.  So I'll wait a week and take them again and post at a later date.  I've been consistent with working out and making better food choices.  But I have to admit, I can do better with my food selection.  In the meantime, I'm scheduled for my 2nd fill next week.
Until the next time,

My 1st Wow Moment (NSV- Non scale victory)

Aug 08, 2007

8-8-07
Just a lil wow moment that I have to share with those you'd understand/appreciate.....

Well today during my lunch break walk, I was walking with a co-worker who has to be about 70 pounds or so lighter than I am.  Well during the walk, we reached a point and she asked that we stop for a break.  She was tired and needed to catch her breath.  I remember not being able to talk to her and walk at the same time and now her she is asking for a break and I hadn't even broke a sweat yet!  I see that my consistency is paying off and although the scale isn't moving much, I will embrace the "melting away" feeling I have and look forward to re-taking my measurements on my 2 month out anniversary.
Until next time,

2nd Fill Scheduled

Aug 07, 2007

8-7-08

Well I have my second fill scheduled for 8/22.  I'm hoping this one will last much longer than my first one.  I've been good at watching my food intake and getting my exercise (walking and/or light weight lifting) in on a daily basis.  I'm really looking forward to seeing some new numbers on the scale.  In the mean time, I can tell that my body has slimed down some.  August 12th will be 2 months out and I'll take my measurements then to see the progress I've made. I'll keep you all posted.
Until the next time,

Restriction gone already?

Aug 02, 2007

8-2-07
Hi all,
I had a fill not even a week ago and I think my restriction is gone already.  Could that be?  Well I will be calling the Drs. Office to get on the list for an adjustment.

In the meantime....if the band is a tool to help one control their portions, it appears to be doing its job.  Visually, I'm getting the hang of portion control where I'm eating smaller portions and learning to eat until I'm satisfied, not necessarily full.

I've also kicked up my workout routine.  I'm doing a 1 mile "walk away the pounds" before work and then either a 20 minute lunch break walk or a 20 minute dinner walk.  I'm also using 2 pound hand weights to help out with my arms.  I haven't done much ab work yet because I'm afraid I'll knock my band out of place.  I'll work on that within the next few weeks.

So it looks like I'm losing about a 1/2 pound a day.  I know, I'm obsessed about weighing in daily.  But it helps me stay on track and monitor my eating habits.

Well that's a mouthful.  Until next time,

First Fill

Jul 26, 2007

7-26-07

Hi All,
I had my 1st fill yesterday.  The doctor put 1.75 in my 4 cc band.  So far things are going well and I really don't notice a dfference yet.  I'm hoping that with the adjustment and me working out more often, the pounds will come off more steadily.  24 pounds down and counting....

Approaching 1st Fill....

Jul 23, 2007

7-23-07

Hi All,
Not much to report.  Things are going well with my band, I've managed to keep my initial weight loss down, plus a few more pounds for a total of about 22 pounds or so.  I'm scheduled for my 1st fill on Wed. July 25th so I'm hoping to drop even more weight.

Swelling Gone?

Jul 03, 2007

7-3-07
Hi All,
I think the tightness of my band from WLS swelling is pretty much gone.  Yesterday, I was able to eat more than I have since surgery.  At the time of of this writing, I haven't eaten yet today so I'll see how things go. I'm doing pretty good with eating smaller portions.  I have to work on not "gulping" down my liquids.

I'm looking forward to my first fill......
Until next time,

Sharing Helps

Jun 29, 2007

6-29-07
Hi Folks,
I shared with you all my concern regarding my recent gain after moving onto the mushies stage.  Well I'm glad I did.  With the response from those who know, I found out that a little weight gain is normal after coming off the liquid diet.  Whew.......

I'm really looking forward to losing more weight.  I've already noticed a change in the way my clothes fit.  So my plan is to continue to make wise food choices, get my work-out on and only weigh-in once a week.
Until next time,

Bubble bursted.....

Jun 25, 2007

6-26-07
So after being moved to mushie foods on Friday, I've gained 4 pounds

I don't know what I'm doing wrong.  All I've been eating is slim fast, tuna and shrimp salad and I'm not over eating at any meals.

I guess I need to get my work out on.....because I'm beating myself up over these four pounds.......

18 pounds gone.....

Jun 20, 2007

6-20-07
Hi Folks,
Well it's 1 week/1 day since surgery and I'm 18 pounds down !
Boy this liquid diet is hard and yesterday I cracked and had a serving of very, very, very mashed potatoes for dinner.      I know I shouldn't have but I needed some energy and the liquids was not doing it for me.

I'm feeling much better these days, just wish I didn't have the soreness in my belly as I really want to work out.  I' have my follow up appointment on Friday so I'll see what the doc says.  I'm hoping I can move onto the mushy stage of the diet.  We'll see....

Until the next time, take care....
