The area is expecting it’s 1st snow storm of the season.  Just my luck, they're expecting it to begin the night before my consultation with Dr. Williams on the 14th.

My DH is adamant that as long as the doctors office  doesn't cancel the appointment, we'll make it down 95 South.

Hi All,
Not much to report., just waiting for my consultation appointment with Dr. Williams on February 14th.  I did find out that I'll have to complete a 3 to 6 month supervised diet in order for Aetna to approve my WLS.  If I have the option, I'll go for the 3 month supervision vs the 6 month.  In the mean time, I'm filling out paperwork, paperwork, paperwork.... I'll be sure to update after the 14th.

Hello All,

 Just quickly I wanted you all to know that I attended the mandatory seminar yesterday.  From my own research, most of the information shared was already known.  But it was very informative for my husband.

Thanks to a tip from one my WLS buddy, I managed to be the first one in line to schedule my consultation with the Doctor.  Unfortunately his first available appointment was on the 25th of January and wouldn't give me enough time to complete the necessary paperwork and get my referral.  So my consultation with the Doctor is scheduled for Feb. 14th.   The ball is rolling.....

I'm getting excited as next Tuesday I'll attend the required seminar for the Lap Band surgery.  I've learned so much for this site, it's hard to come up with questions for the seminar and the doctor.  But I'm sure I'll come up with a few.  What I really want to find out about is the approval process for my insurance company.  I've called and found out that the procedure is covered.  I just don't know which and how many hoops I have to jump thru to get approval.  Oh well, I guess I'll find out soon enough.

Well I found out that the Barix Clinics are considered "out of network" as far as Aetna HMO is concerned.  So they are out of the running....

Hi,
As I continue to read and learn so much from the postings on this site, I decided to put some of my "learnings" into practice.

So with that said......

I've finished my last Pepsi and decided to replace my carbonated drinks with Crystal Light, decaf iced tea, lemonade and water, water, water.  I have plenty of pre-natal vitamins around so I started taking those again.  I've also convinced myself that it's OK to NOT finish all the food on my plate!  Big accomplishment as I was raised to not be wasteful (especially when it comes to food).

By the end of the week, I will have my the DVD player in the family room re-connected so that I can begin working out to my Biggest Loser and Walk Away the Pounds DVDs.  Which I do enjoy, I just never kept up with doing the work-outs for a long period of time.

 I guess that’s it for now, wish me luck,

Hi,
My seminar isn't until the 23rd of Jan. so I'm still waiting.....

In the meantime, I'm checking out the Barix Clinics of PA.  Just to see what my options are.

I'm still reading and learning from everyone's experiences.

Hello All,
I'm sooooo glad that I stumbled upon this group.  I've been reading your posts for a few days now and decided it was time to post my own.

After considering weight loss surgery for some time, I've finally taken steps to start the ball rolling.  

I’m hoping to have the lap band done and just before Christmas '06, I scheduled an appointment to begin the process.  Before  scheduling a consultation appointment with Dr. Williams, I'm required to attend a informational session.  This appointment is scheduled for Jan. 23rd.  Already, I've called at check for any cancellations to no avail.  From the other posts that I've read, I see that I'll have to work on having more patience.  

I've found the stories shared on this site very informing and encouraging and hope that my posts will do the same for others.  So I'll keep you all posted.

Hi All,
I think the tightness of my band from WLS swelling is pretty much gone.  Yesterday, I was able to eat more than I have since surgery.  At the time of of this writing, I haven't eaten yet today so I'll see how things go. I'm doing pretty good with eating smaller portions.  I have to work on not "gulping" down my liquids.

I'm looking forward to my first fill......
