I bit late, but I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year and I hope that you all had a Merry Christmas!

Still waiting

Dec 07, 2009

Green seems like a good color to post in today, seeing as the green grass is covered in white snow!  Just a quick note to let you all know that my psychiatrist sent the letter to my surgeons office today.  Now it has to get "signed off" on and then it goes to Bev.  She will get it ready and send it off for the second appeal.  This is it, I can feel it!

Find happiness....

So, even though all the insurance mumbo jumbo has me a little flustered, I have decided to take this time and start transferring my addiction to healthy options.  At the suggestion of my psychologist, I have found that I like walking...A LOT!  I have began eating as if I have already had surgery, (not portion sizes, but protien first, then veggies, ect) and I am already walking at 3 mph for 40 minutes a day!  I think this is why I have been hassled by my insurance co....to give me time to really prepare completely mentally for this surgery.  I have ready countless profiles that wish that they had done this before, so I am learning from their mistakes (thanks!) in hopes that life after surgery is a little easier to adjust to.  I hope that I am not foolishly tricking myself, but only time will tell.  Any thoughts?

Third times a charm????

Nov 07, 2009

I am staying positive, but it is becoming increasingly hard these days!  I was denied again because there was not a clearance letter from my personal psychologist.....I have clearance from my surgons psychologist, why the hassel?   My insurance company just hates me, lol!  So, now I am trying to figure out how to get my letter....my psy. lady is not so keen on just writing a letter.  She says, isn't there like a form letter I can sign?  God, please help me with this!
On the upside, I am doing better on my diet, and I have started walking for 15 minutes every day.  I can't believe how much better just a little change can help you feel!!!  It is amazing!
No worries!

Take Two...

Oct 30, 2009

Well, I was denied from my insurance company because they wanted a clear chest x-ray, so I got that and have now submitted an appeal.  I am not sure why they required that of me, but I have a good idea....right after Bev submitted my paperwork the first time I was admitted to ICU with a pretty good case of pnemonia, so I am sure when the insurance company saw that it compelled them to just make sure it was gone before they approved me.  So, I am still waiting, but I am happy to wait for what could change my life forever!  I am putting everything in Gods hands and he will do what is best for me.....no matter if I like it or not, I will learn to be at peace with whatever decision is made.

Still waiting for my insurance to give me the green light.....just waiting!  I am so excited, and nervous.  I am not sure what to think at this point.   I should know by Friday I think......just waiting for the news.  I am sure it will be approved, but there is just this little part of me that says this has been too easy, there has to be a problem somewhere.....so for now, I am just waiting for the call.  waiting

Best Blog EVER!!!

Oct 12, 2009

I know that I have been bad about updating this recently, but who dosent get busy about the beginning of the school year.  So, I decided to take a couple semesters off school to get myself through this surgery.  I am certianly glad that I did because I just got out of the hospital with a great case of pnemonia.  I am feeling better and finally able to sleep now that there is not a drugged up old lady sleeping next to me, lol!  I have completed all of my steps for insurance approval, and Bev called me this morning to let me know that she is submitting for approval today.  Glory, Glory, Halliluya!!!!  I have waited five long years to get to this point and it feels so unreal now that it is here!  So, I am sure that I will have some kinda news (hopefully good) to blog about in the next two weeks.  Keep me in your prayers, as you will all be in mine.
No worries!

So, I have reorganized my thoughts and finances and now I will be able to have my surgery, but probably a month later than I wanted, so horray!  I will be better off financially anyhow doing it this way and my kids will be better off as well, so I am sure that this was Gods way of doing what is best for me.  I always have to do things the hard way!  Heres to the new me, coming soon to an "OR" near you!  Thanks for all of the kind words and prayers, I do appriciate it.

So I have reached my first delima in my surgery progression.  I pay my rent in advance with my grant money from school so that I don' t have to work alot during the semester.  Well, thanks to the Ohio Budget revision, I will not be getting as much money as I planned.  As a matter of fact it is not even enough to pay for my tuition and books.  What do I do?  I am taking 16 credits and if I go below full time status, they will give me less money and if I take fewer credits but stay full time, it will cost the same amount.  I do not have good enough credit to take out a personal loan, and I am just at a total loss.  Anyone have any suggestions on how to get about 2500?????  I am afraid that if I don't get approved soon, and if the healthcare gets reformed I may never be able to get this surgery done.  What do I do?  Any suggestions are welcome!
I guess this is the time that I need to remember my new motto....No Worries!

Busy, Busy, Busy....

Jul 25, 2009

So I recieved my packet for pre-op testing and my gosh was it thick!  I thought that I just had a couple appointments, but not exactly.  Currently I have had some blood work done, I still have a pulimonary function test, a upper gi, the nutrishon essessment, and the psy. evaluation in addition to a few more after I get approval.  Wow.  I suppose that I will be a very busy camper these next few months.  That is good, I am hoping that it will help time go a little faster.  I do hope all is well with everyone who is reading this and remember, No Worries!  Oh yea, I am going to a new church today, so please pray for me.  I am not one for new situations!
