Just curious for those that actually read this - Do the forums such as "WLS Singles" have guidelines on what needs to be discussed? I recently stumbled across quite a few BULLIES on that forum and I'm just kinda shocked that
A. there are people here I consider Bullies and
B. that people are trying to control the forums.
I mean if you read "Singles" wouldn't you assume that is other singles? That might possibly be looking for other singles?
Maybe it's just me but WOWZER those women go crazy on there if they even think your blinking at another person there that is single.

Rulers of the Forums
May 01, 2012
I have spent quite a bit of time on the boards as of lately and I have noticed a few things that bug me:
1. Know it all - there is at least 1-3 people that seem to think they have advanced themselves to DR. status although I see no PhD attached to their name. I love the advice but assuming others are idiots or don't know how to "google" something is kinda annoying. I honestly think more people would post if these people weren't so domineering.
2. Forum Controllers - I get that a forum might be called a certain name but is it necessary to flip out on the person because they posted in the "WRONG" forum? I've seen this numerous times and I'm just kinda flabbergasted. It would be one thing if we had moderators that demanded talk be directed to one topic but that's not the case. Chill out Old ladies...no reason to get your panties in a knot!!
A few things you need to know about me - I won't let you walk on me and I won't let you walk on others. No one should assume you know anyone by reading their blog or reading some post they put up. I don't judge you..don't judge me. Isn't this supposed to be a place where we encourage each other?
Anyways, I just had to vent here cause it's my safe place and who the heck can confront me on my own blog!? Hahaha
So, I had my pre-op appointment today and had the logistics of the surgery explained. SOOOOOO exciting. I did have an interesting morning my car is acting up (ugh) but hopefully I can get it fixed. Ohhhh and I lost another lb. Down to 295!!!!

Tests almost done!
Apr 27, 2012
So, yesterday I took off work to complete a billion and 1 tests that need to be done before surgery. I started off my morning with my Chest X-ray followed by me Ultrasound (Ouch
), then my blood work
, then my EKG, then off to my general praticioners, and finally ending the day at my Pysch Evaluation appointment.
Super crazy busy day but now all I have left is my GI Scope and Blood Gas (which apparently has to be made via appointment). I have my Blood Gas scheduled for the 2nd and then my first GI Scope appointment to talk to the doctor and set up my appointment for the scope to be done.
Other then that things are doing good and I'm right on track. I've lost 4 lbs almost 5 since I started this Atkins low carb diet and I've totally slacked and not gone to the gym. I'm going back next week - I need to be in tip top shape!

Pre-op Scheduled and Surgery scheduled!!!
Apr 23, 2012
So, talked to my Dr.'s office and sheduled my pre-op appointment where they will submit all my paperwork to my insurance. My insurance is a bit different you have to initially get accepted into the program then pay 1450 for a nutrition program in which you need to lose 5% of your body weight within 6 months. I have completed that and then now I'm on the next step doing all my tests. I am doing most of them on Thursday and then my Pre-Op appointment on May 1st. My surgery is currently scheduled for May 21st. I might have to change it only because of family stuff but it's scheduled!!!! Once paperwork is submitted takes about 4 week possibly less for my insurance to offically approve my surgery. :)

And the weekend comes to an end.
Apr 22, 2012
I worked for my new part time job on Friday night and then again on Saturday. Phew was it a long, busy weekend!! No rest for the wicked right?! Today I had brunch with my family - I ate a scrambled egg mix with ham and cheese and then some bacon. Very good! The worst part was the evil cake my cousin made for my brother and his wife's birthday! Everyone got up and ate cake but me and my dad (he has the lap band about 3 or 4 years ago). At least no one commented on me not gettin up to have cake. For the most part my family knows what is going on but my sister-in-law's family do not and I wasn't about to go into detail with any of them.
I have my food all stocked up for the week and have Thursday off to take care of blood work. ultrasound, chest x-ray and EKG along with my pysch appointment in the afternoon. I'm going to call tomorrow and schedule my Pre-op appointment which I'm excited about.
Well night world!
Ps. Got on the scale and it was at 298!!! Yay!!

Screw you Tempting evil-delicious-yummy FAT filled cake.
Apr 20, 2012
You tempt me with your yummy tasty filling and red velvet yumminess. Today I say NOOOOOOOOOO to you because not only are you bad for me but I'm STRONGER then your evil tempting.
Ok, that's what I wish was the reality. But sadly it's more that they (Staff) are surrounding the cake and I've already stated I wasn't eating any. I'm on a LOW carb diet..cake is not part of that diet. Would be pretty amazing if it was. hahaha
I'm off in 3 minutes and the temptation will be gone but the lingering of desire will exist. How did I get to a place where cake was more appealing then anything else. That CAKE was my evil temptation?!
I think I love shopping more...and the skinnier I am the cuter my clothes will be. I"ll focus on that. My mom call's me a clothes horse...haha she has no idea what will happen when my clothes take up half the space and cost half the money. Those skinny bitches get outfits for like 25 bucks! I'm lucky if I find a top at Lane Bryant on Clearnce last season for that price.
Yes, thinking about shopping puts things in perspective. I'd rather be able to wear what ever I want from what ever store I want then eat that cake.
But you ALL know what I mean.....Damn you cake.

First week of Low-Carb Diet
Apr 20, 2012
So, my doctor has you go on a low-carb Diet (think Atkins) 4 weeks before your surgery to shrink your liver. Can I just say it's been TORTURE!!! I'd rather eat 1100 calories and work out daily then this diet. hahahaa I spent the first few days so nauseated and barely wanted to eat! (Maybe this is the reason Atkins works?? hahaha no one eats?)
Anyways, I'm on day 5 now and I'm doing much better. I'm totally craving sweets (my weakness) and random things like Toast or crackers. hahaha I'm not a huge bread eater or pasta so for the most part my carbs come from other things like Fruit, granola bars, and like a five billion other things I can no longer eat as of Monday. I mean a Apple has 34-36 carbs! One little itty-bitty Apple!? I was sad. hahaha
So, people at work (my managers) are starting to ask if I'm "OK" since I've had so many random days off to go to Dr. Appointments. I've told two people at work besides a couple close friends. I'm very excited about getting my surgery but I am very cautious as to who knows because I don't want negative comments. This is something I've thought long and hard about and the outcome outweighs any negatives. I don't need someone telling me "their idea of how I should REALLY lose weight" - or any gossip or side comments. I realize that some people think of this type of surgery as the "lazy" way out but although I have lazy days I'm not lazy. I work out, I have been eating right, it's actually been a lot more work being good and healthy then not, so I'm far from lazy. But that's how some others might view us (us those that are overweight). Who knows..Maybe it's more of my own internal struggle and maybe EVERYONE would be accepting. I just don't think they would be.
Besides all of this I have my Psych Appointment scheduled for next Thursday and all my blood work, Chest X-ray and Ultrasound. I need to set up my pre-op appointment but every time I call it's the day the scheduler is out of the office. Drrr! I also have my initial appointment to get my GI Scope appt scheduled. All in all I'm on the right track and I can't believe I'll have everything scheduled probably including my surgery in less then a Month! I'm incredibly excited and super scared at the same time.
On a non-diet surgery world topic - I went on date on Wednesday. He's super cute and we had a great time. Look forward to our second date on Tuesday! I also start a part time job working with kids this weekend which will be super active and a lot of fun. :)
