I am a 38 year old mom transplanted from NY six years ago to Ct.  I have three active kids (13, 9 & 7) and have the most wonderful supportive husband, two crazy dogs (Jack is a 6 year old schnoodle and Harley is a 3 year old poodle) and a few fishies.

For some reason, I can remember my weight because it seemed to coincide with my age when I was younger.  When I was 9 years old I was 90 lbs.; then 18 I was 188 lbs.  I don't know why, but I'm glad when I got older I didn't follow the same pattern exactly!

Well, I have progressively gained weight and I'm physically tired which makes me not active at all.  One memory that is sticking out of my mind was when a childhood friend came to visit me and we were walking around the campground going up a hill, not that steep of a hill but I managed to stop about five or six times, totally embarrassed.  I've joined weight watches so many times I can't even imagine how many it was.  The last time I was on the program was January 2005.  In six months I went down to the 260's, then I got let go from my job and slowly ate my way to my current weight of 298.

The reasoning behind me having surgery is that I wanted a jump start on things.  I want to be active with my kids and join in the basketball game or not be embarrassed just walking down the street.  This is my wonderful adventure to a new life!  Watch out, here I come.
