After years of considering wls, I'm finally ready!  After reaching my heaviest weight and not being able to control my rising blood pressure, my doctor asked me if I knew how many patients he has that are 65-70 and over 200 pound, none.  It was like a light turned on and I knew at that moment, I was ready.  I am ready to take action so I can participate in my life instead of watching it pass by.  I have been the heaviest kid in class all my life, during my 33 years, I have always been large.  Diabetes runs in my family and I know if I keep on the same path, I will end up becoming insulin dependant.

After researching, and then researching some more, and then a lot more, I decided on the DS.  I was concerned about the quantity of daily supplements, but other than that, was comfortable with my choice.  I interviewed a doctor who recommended the VSG.  AFter giving it much thought and discussing it with a couple close and trusted friends, I decided it would be a better choice and it addressed my concern about the quantity of supplements.  I felt at peace with this decision once I came to it.

I am about 600 miles aways from my family and friends, other than my partner in crime/best friend/hubby.  I am thankful for the people on OH for their support thus far and I know this will be a wonderful outlet for me during my journey.

A few goals I have are, but not limited to:

-be able to run
-have little/no joint pain
-wear a size 10 comfortably
-be comfortable in my own body
-get all my protein and fluids in everyday
