"My first impression of Dr. Cahalan was a serious person that did not take this surgery lightly. I thought he was a little mean, but he has to be stern, to let you know that this is not a joke and you cannot play with your diet or you can kill yourself or become really sick. My impression changed because I realized that he is there to help me to be healthy and get the full benefits of this surgery and not get back to where I am now. He needs to smile more, but again that comes into the seriousness of this surgery. Just know that he is a GREAT surgeon. The emphasis of aftercare is great. He even has this computer program that cost $150, that EVERY patient is obligated to purchase BEFORE surgery to be compliant. This program is his window to you at home during the first 2 weeks of post-op and for the next two years after. He has said that he can and will keep up with your progress even if you move out of state with this program. He gave the nice and the grusome about the surgery risks and he went extensively into the dealth rate, if you do not follow diet and instructions. My overall rating of Dr. Cahalan is EXCELLENT."
