2 Weeks Post Op!
Feb 15, 2017
2 weeks ago today, at this time, I was in surgery. I am soooo grateful to have this new tool.
I hopped on the scale this morning and was happy to see I am down 6 Ibs since last week. I lost 9.8 Ibs my first week post op, so that's a total of 15.8 pounds since surgery 2 weeks ago. I lost 23 Ibs in my 3 weeks of Opti, so I am now down 38.8 Ibs total! That's amazing!
I can really see the difference in my top half. My face has already started to slim down and I can see my original chin again. I still have some double chin to lose but a lot of it is gone already. My Mom even commented on it yesterday; she looked at me and did a double take and said, "You've already lost so much weight on your face!"
My tops are loose and so are my pajama bottoms and sweat pants/yoga pants. I've been wearing them exclusively because I had so much pain and didn't want my normal pants to rub. The pain is much better than it was, and it was almost gone, just discomfort, but yesterday I dropped a pill on the floor and stupidly bend over to pick it up and I think I pulled the incisions apart a bit because they are all aching today, and the bad one is back to hurting so much that the pain woke me from a deep sleep.
Also, weirdly, my back and left side have been hurting a lot. If I lie flat with no pillows it eases a bit. I have a heating pad on my back now. I hope that goes away; it's been pretty steady since surgery, but worse in the past few days. Maybe because I'm moviing more? I don't know. I don't have a history of back pain so this is new.
Even with the pain and discomfort, I am happy I had the surgery and don't regret it. I love not being hungry.
It's weird, I'm eating such low calories, and such small amounts of food but it seems all I do, all day, every day, is eat or drink. I have to wake up early and stay up late to get my fluids and protein in. Yesterday I had two protein shakes, 40 ml of cottage cheese, and 30 ml of butternut squash soup. The soup was disgusting but the cottage cheese was delicious. I put a bit of salt and pepper on it and ate it very slowly, over a period of an hour and a half to two hours. I don't normally watch TV as I hate commercials (I usually watch Netflix), but the commercials really came in handy to let me know when I could have another spoon of food. I put the spoon down during the show and only picked it up again when the first commercial came on. I could eat about 2 teaspoons worth before putting the spoon down again and waiting. So, on the one hand, I'm only eating a tiny serving, but on the other hand, I'm eating that serving for 2 hours, lol, so it seems like a lot. I'm never hungry, which is miraculous.
I'm excited to be in the 260's as it's been a very long time since I've been here.
