I have been on liquid now for 6 weeks. (4 weeks pre-op and 2 weeks post op).  Thursday is the day for an egg.  Who knew I would be so excited to have something like an egg.  I have still having some pains from one of the drain tube locations.  I hope this gets better by the end of the week.  Back to work next week.  I have lost 45 pounds so not sure how the co-workers will react.  I feel better, that was my goal in having surgery.  I have come off of 5 heart medicines and the diabetes pill.  I could not believe my sugar was 96 the other morning.  It was running in 160 - 180 range even taking my medicine. 

I been trying to walk up and down the street each day.  I made it twice on Sunday.   Hope to keep increasing it each day.  I also cheated last week, when my husband and I went out for lunch.  I choose the soup.  However, I learned really quickly was dumping syndrome is.  I have been sticking to my liquids every since.  It will keep you honest. 

I have been up and walking 4 times a day for a bout 10 minutes each day.  It has helped the soreness.  I can't wait to get this last drain tube out this week. 

Glad to be back home. Surgery went great. Really sore. Getting up and down. I've not been hungry. I am using the unjury mixing with broth and crystal light. I would liked to thank everyone for all the prayers.

Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers.  I will be having surgery on May 11, 2011.

I am excited but also nervous.  I am down 26 pounds in the last 3 weeks from the liquid diet.  It is really hard I am struggling not to eat.  My co-workers had a hugh chocolate cake this morning.  I told them I was on a liquid diet, so most of them understood.  One guy said we could puree it.  I said NO!.  When I step on the scales each morning, an the weight is coming off.  That my reward.

Yesterday, went to my pre-op class and testing.  I am getting excited to see some of the pounds coming off.  The liquids have been hard, did did have a few bites of chicken on Easter since I was so sick.  I started having really bad dizzy spells.  I am better today.  They said I might need to add a few more carbs back into the liquid diet.  Two more weeks until surgery....

My sugery is approved and a date has been set for April 8, 2009.  I am excited, but neverous about surgery.  I already have three stents in my heart, plus sleep apnea.  My goal is to be healthy.

Was not able to get cardiac clearance.  Surgery Cancelled. 

Good new:  my heart is now stable.  Surgery was approved and date has been set for May11, 2011.  Started my 4 week liquid diet 04/13/11.
