April 1st, One yr bandiversary day

Apr 01, 2009

Well, here i am at my 1 yr bandiversary and haven't come anywhere close to my goals. I was hoping to be down a min of 75lbs to 100lbs. I'm sad to say, as of today, i'm only down 43lbs. I have lots 55lbs but in the last mth i have gained 12lbs. No, i'm not too happy about it. I have been sick more the last 3 mths then i have been healthy and it has made eating right difficult. Yes, it is somewhat of an excuse. I have not tried as hard as i could have. But you know how it is when you don't feel good, you just don't care about much of anything. I haven't been to the gym in 3 wks. although i miss it very much. I just wish my head would clear up and i could get back to life. I have a very bad sinus infection, on my 2nd round of antibiotics and another small round of prednazone. Nothing is helping my head and all i want to do is hide in my dark and quiet bedroom by myself.
I'm planning on going over the mtn in the next cpl wks (if the pass clears up) to get another fill and get back into the swing of things. Oh, if only i would get well again. I feel just miserable.
This certainly isn't where i imagined i would be on my one yr bandiversary. But i'm not gonna beat myself up about it. I am thankfull that i'm down 43lbs and over all feel better then i did a yr ago. I didn't put this weight in a yr, i don't expect to take it all off in a yr. I am alot healthier now then i was then all-in-all. I can play w/ my kids, work out at the gym and not feel like i'm dying, blood pressure is normal, cholesteral is normal and just feel alot better about ME. So there are alot of possitive things that have occured this yr and i'm greatful for them all. I will get back on track and lose more weight and not stop until i get to goal. My band is a wonderful tool when i use it, and thank goodness it is always there for me. It does make the weightloss journey much easier to manage. I am one of those that is a very slow loser, and there are times that i wish i would have gone w/ the by-pass surgery. But in the long run, the band is still probably the best for me for long term results. I just have to be patient and keep at it.

Gold's Gym

Jan 23, 2009

I'm 1 1/2 wks into the Gold's Gym challenge and loving it! I'm working out 5 days a wk. for 40-60 min (depending on my schedule) and wake up every morning looking forward to my workout. My metabolism is reving up, and i'm not cold anymore. The appetite has increased slightly, so that enables me to get in some much needed fruits (apples & bananas). My meals are still small, but i'm able to eat 4-5 x's  a day now.
The dr. put me on Prenazone a cpl of wks before i started the challenge to help w/ the bursitus in my hip. That caused me to gain 9lbs in 4 days (fluid). By the 3rd day after starting the challenge, that 9lbs was gone. Yae! But now TOM is here, and the water weight is back up 3lbs. YUK :(   But that's ok, i know it's just water. lol.
I have also started physical therapy for that bursitus in the hip, and the therapist has got me doing strengthening exercises 3x's a wk. in addition to my 5 days at golds gym. So, i've got all my dr's on board w/ me to get thru this challenge and they are all rootin for me and doing everything they can to keep the pain from coming back. I know i will make it thru this challenge! I want to WIN!!! I want to come out the other side of this looking and feeling great so that the summer will be one of the best i have had in 20 yrs.

Exercise!!!

Jan 14, 2009

Ok, the next phase has begun for me and i'm so excited about it!!! I started the Gold's Gym Challenge yesterday (12 wk challenge). I know this will be the one thing that really gets my weight loss moving and will put me at my 100lb goal for my bandaversary date.
I'm not an exerciser for many reasons, but cheifly because of the embaressment i have felt about my size and going into a gym. So it has taken me some time to get into a mental state about it. I have finally arrived! Now, i just don't care!!! Because i know that i won't look like this much longer, and anyone who sees me at the gym now, will be amazed as time goes by and the transformation that is going to occur.
The challenge is a great way to get the ball rolling, and our Gold's gym's hold the title for over all winners nation wide. This yr there are over 500 ppl in our gym's alone signed up (we are a smallesh town too). Last yrs big local winner who also competed nationally came away with almost $20,000 in cash!!! WOW!!! That's alot of money!!! I too would really like to be one of the top cash prize winners, as that would surly pay for the plastic surgery i will need when the weight loss is done. But weather or not i win any money, i will be in much better shape in so many ways at the end of it. So with this challenge, i have met a huge goal for  myself. To EXERCISE!
This leads me to another goal that i have recenly added for my life. There is a huge bike race here every year. The Dam to Dam bike race. I used to enjoy bike riding in my teenage yrs. and i miss it. So i have added this bike race to my list of goals. I don't expect to be able to enter this summer coming up, but it's on my list for 2010!  My goal for this summer is to buy a bike and ride the loop trail that runs up one side of town by the river, across the bridge, down the other side of town by the river, across the other bridge. My hubby and son do it in the summer w/ the little girl in her pull behind and i don't want to miss out on the fun anymore.

Dec 28-08

Dec 28, 2008

As i hoped, this fill seems to be the magic fill. As of today i'm down to 252lbs. And a total of 40inches overall. I'm losing at a steady rate of about 2lbs or so a wk. Just as it otta be. FINALLY!!! Yes folks, i'm at the sweet spot i have heard sooooo much about. And my part time job at Walmart is helping quit a bit. I stay very busy at work, and do lots of walking. I was discussing this w/ a girl at work last night that recently changed from a sales assoc. to a cashier. And she confirmed that working the floor helps in the weight loss dept. She said since she changed she has stopped losing weight. lol.
I'm gearing up to join the Gold's Gym Challenge in Jan for 12 wks. Very excited about the transformation that will happen as a result. And the added bonus if i were actually able to win it.WOOHOO! I'll be working hard for it.

11-26-08 Thanksgiving wk.

Nov 25, 2008

I haven't lost any weigt since my last fill in Aug, very frustrating. I finally was able to go get another fill this past Sat. so now i have a total of 8.4ccs. I feel much better about this fill so far, I keep telling myself this one will do the trick and i will get back on the bandwagon and start losing again. Since my fill on sat, i am down 2lbs. keeping my fingers crossed.

Oct 02, 2008

Not much new to report as far as weight loss goes since the last fill,  just maintaining. Been very busy, have started back to collage after being home with the kids since the little one was born. Glad to be back in an adult environment for a change. School is great! My eating choices haven't been the best, but lately that hasn't been in the foreground of my mind. I applied for a job at Gold's Gym several wks ago, and today they finally called me for an interview. I'm very excited about that! Being there will really help with the weight loss and inspire me to exercise like i should. I haven't had any exercise in the past mth or so.   There are lost of changes happening for me this last 6 mths, and i'm gratefull for each and every one of them. God has really led me down a wonderful path of growth in so many areas.

Oh! I almost forgot. I ordered some new clothes on line recently and most of them are too big. I went by the size guideline they give, and even a size smaller in most things. And they are almost all too big. I ordered a cpl of tops in a size smaller, and a size that i thought should fit now, well. the smaller size fits great. So i have to send most of the clothes back and wait again for them to come in. It's not such a bad thing.
It just sucks having to wait for them to arrive. Unfortunately, since i live in a smaller town, there arn't any plus size store around so i have to shop on line. I hate that part.

3rd fil yesterday 9/16/08

Sep 17, 2008

I drove over to Arlington yesterday and had my 3rd fill, 1cc. I'm now up to 7cc's in a 10cc band. I was thinking i only had 5cc's in prior, but she showed me her notes saying i had 2cc's 1st fill and 4cc's 2nd fill. hmm...
So i'm on liquids today, then mushies tomorrow. I hope i lose 3-4 lbs this wk like i usually do after a fill.
Then Robin (the nurse asst.) asks me if i'm considering a tummy tuck, i say well of course. And she says i should start considering it soon. I am only down to 260lbs and no where near to goal. But i do carry the bulk of my weight in my belly and it's down to the middle of my thighs. She say that by having it removed, will help speed up the weight loss to the rest of my body. She said that my body looks at the belly fat as a foreign body and it will hold back the weight loss, and store fat. I have never heard anything like that. But she gave me a list of PS Dr's to talk to and said to make sure and document any problems related to the belly fat with my PCP, like rashes, back issues etc... I know that with the belly gone i would look pretty good at this point.. My arms and legs, back, butt  and chest have lost a good amount. It's all in the belly. If it weren't for the belly i could probably fit into a 1x size at this point. But the belly fat keeps me in a 2x or more. Clothes just arn't flattering at all know matter what the syle. To fit the belly, they are way too large on top. I look mishapen at this point. Depressing.

Cals back up and down 2 lbs. YAE!

Aug 17, 2008

Ok! I have been getting my 1200 cals a day for the last few days, swimming everyday this wk and i have dropped 2 lbs in the last 3 days. Yae Me!!! What a relief......
Oh ya! As to my clothing size. I wore the dress that i married my hubby in to church today, size 26 and about 4 inches too big in the waiste. I really like the dress, very pretty shade of pale pink with little darker red roses all over it and very flattering pleats at the waiste. It is supposed to be kinda fitted, It fit great everywhere but the waiste and that was pleasently too big. I wore my Spanx under it to control the belly, and it looked really great. I felt so pretty and successful today. I haven't been able to wear that dress since i got preg. with my daughter in 05.

SLOOOOOW Weight loss - 8-15-08

Aug 15, 2008

My weight loss is so slow. I'm eating less then and moving more. I work hard to get in a full 1200 cals a day since my last fill. I don't have hard restriction but i do get full faster and stay full for 3-5 hrs depending on what i eat. So i'm not unhappy with my level of restriction. I don't get stuck or pb and don't have any foods that give me problems. I was really tight about a wk after the fill and that lasted for about 10 days. I really had to work at eating then. And i wasn't getting in 1200 cals. I had to work back up to that. And since then i have only lost 3lbs. I lost 2 lbs right after the fill then nothing til now 27 days later, i have lost 1 more lb.
I don't do a reg. exercise program, nor do i exercise everyday. But i am moving better, faster, and more then i ever was before. I have been swimming a lot this wk, some last wk, i rode the exer. bike this wk, i'm waking more around my neighborhood. In general, just getting up and doing more, playing with my kids more. I spent last wkend at a camping reunion, and did  A LOT of walking, moving, setting up and tearing down our camp.
So, after all this, i'm still losing very slowly. I don't get it.
My clothes are getting looser, so that's a plus. The tapemeasure is moving. I still have this big saggy belly that gives me problems. It's still making clothes look bad. i don't really know what size i am at this point as i have to wear clothes a bit larger to hide the belly. But one good thing is, my tops are hanging longer now, so the belly is getting somewhat smaller. The bat wings under my arms are getting bigger, so the fat in my arms is going away. My legs don't rub together as much and i can tell they are getting trimmer. The girls are hanging more and getting smaller, UGH. All my shorts are getting looser, panties are too big, need a new bra. So there is change happening, but it's just so darn slow. I guess i'm just gonna have to work much harder. I would really like to join the gym, but can't afford it. I know i would do much better at exercising with the accountability  that you get there. Lately it has been so hot outside, it's hard to get outside and do a whole lot. As far as my eating goes, i think i'll try planning my meals for the whole day in advance and eat only that. That's hard to do tho, but i'll try it.

OK, I ran some numbers/totals to date. Here they are.
I have lost 41lbs and 43.75 inches overall. Not bad
