18 Months today! Honeymoon is over...I think??

Jul 31, 2012

Well it's official. Today is 18 months to the day that I had surgery. February 1, 2011 was surgery day. I was told that at 18 months, you can start regaining weight. Well, I think I do a pretty good job of staying at 1200 calories with 60-100 grams of protein, and 30-50 grams of sugar and fat. I'm finding that sticking to the calories and fat are hard! I can manage everything else. I still eat 5 meals a day, especially during the week when I'm at work. During the weekends, it's more like 4 meals. I will graze on shelled peanuts. They are my go to when I don't feel like eating but I know I need my protein. I even crave them sometimes! Strange.  I have had a mini snickers occasionally. I love the generic ice cream bars. They are 10 grams of sugar and I will eat one every day if I have them in the house. I try not to buy them every week but it's hard!!! LOL  I'm going to invest in a ice cream maker so I can make protein ice cream. I think that will help with the craving. All in all, I think this experience has been good for me. I've learned to stick to small meals, use a food tracker, and watch labels. I'm still not into exercise but I try to squeeze it in. God is still working on me with that one. LOL I've had my ups and downs and I have a couple added issues (medical and physical) that I didn't have before the surgery, but I can live with them. Let's see if I can maintain with only 10 pounds of regain!!! Wish me Good luck!
