I had VSG surgery September, 2011. Was very successful and lost 139 lbs. However I have developed severe reflux, hiatal hernia and GERD with an endoscopy showing Barrett’s esophagus on biopsy. I have regained 100 lbs over the last 4 years, when my 25 year marriage ended and I had to move out at age 53 and start over. The VSG didn’t fail—I did.
Because of the above mentioned medical issues, I am being revised to an RNY, probably on November 28. I am scared to death!
