Fourteen Months......Wow!!!

Jul 21, 2009

Ok, so its been a few months since I've been on here and I have been doing awesome. I haven't reached goal, but I'm ok with that. I really don't think I need to be 125, but if I get there then thats great too. My doctor told me at my last appt. that if I didnt get to goal he was ok with that, because my BMI was under what it should be. I was excited to hear that. I am still working on goal, but i think I will look too small. LOL

My friends and family are proud of me and most importanly I am proud of myself. I took this journey 14 months ago and its the best decision I ever made. I would not change a thing. I didnt want all the ailments that my family members are suffering from at such a young age. Diabetes, high blood pressure, aches and pains that can't be explained. I didnt want that for myself. I just turned 39 last month and I feel amazing.

My journey has been without complications, but i did have a stall for 6 weeks, I figured my body needed to catch up to the quick weight loss, and get use to it. After that I lost weight rapidly. I am wearing a size 7 and loving it. I started this journey because I was sick, and needed help. I came to this site and asked questions, and got answers. I want to thank every friend i made and have on this site. I appreciate all that you've shared and given me.

I just found out tonight that my mother was told she HAD to have WLS, it is life or death at this point. I know its not going to be easy for her. But I will be there to support her. I hope she comes to this family and find additional support and love the way I did.

So this is my story for now. I am happy to have shared it with you and hope that you all find what you are looking for in threads of this site......because I sure did.  I love you VSGers!!!

I can't believe it's been 2 months already! It came and went and I didn't even realize it. We have been so busy with our move that I didn't realize that I had lost 10 more pounds either!!!   Yeah!! Wooohoooo!! I have dropped a couple of sizes and I am starting to see the weight loss in my hips and butt where it's the hardest to lose. My DH notices everyday, and comments about it everyday. I love that man!! My daughters are so happy with my loss. So when you stop thinking about the loss and just go on with your day and do what you are suppose to do as far as nutrition and supplements it will happen. So I'm very please and can't wait for more results.

Six Week Post Op

Jun 27, 2008

Well, well, well, I think I got over my stall. I had my six week post op and lost three pounds. How about that?! It could be that I have been getting ready to move and going up and down our stairs at least a hundred times a day. I don't care, I lost three pounds. I am estatic. My doctor gave me a clean bill of health and told me I am good to work out with weights and eat other foods. I am so excited. He told me to also kick up the exercise. So that I shall do. Over all it was a good visit. Nothing like good news on your birthday. Yes, I had an appt on my birthday. Oh well. I am so happy. I have lost a total of 26 lbs. Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a great day! Except that my own mother didn't call and wish me a Happy Birthday yesterday. What's with that? I don't understand it. I guess I will have to get over it since she has done this every year now for at least six years. But if she thinks I'm going to miss her birthday, she calls a few times right before. Ok, enough with the venting. You can't change other people. So on that note, I had a great day with my husband and kids.

One Month Out

Jun 13, 2008

Ok, so it's one month and one day after surgery and I feel good. I woke up this morning and went walking with my daughter. We walked about 2.5 to 3 miles. It felt great and have the breeze hit my body. The scale still hasn't moved but that's ok. I have been reading everyones post and the veterans all say that this is normal, so I'm just going to go with it. Aunt Flo has been visiting this week, so that surely isn't helping matters. But oh well. I have been focusing on other things, like preparing to move in a couple of weeks and getting in all of my protein and fluids. I'm trying to spend time with my friends before we move. So I'm keeing busy (somewhat). LOL I have 6 week post-op with my doctor on my birthday, June 26th. Hopefully, I will get good news on my birthday. I will just have to wait and see.

Three weeks post-op

Jun 03, 2008

Well today is the second day of my third week and still feeling great. I am sitting here trying to figure out meals for myself since I am moving into soft foods, stage three. I want healthy choices, but also great tasting choices. I am going to make some egg salad, and chicken salad for lunch. Need variety. I am also going to set a couple of goals to accomplish before I have my 6 week post-op. Which happens to be on my b'day June 26th. I can't wait. I am looking forward to it. Not much else to really say except let me get to work.
