3 weeks postop

Hello. Today I am 3 weeks 1 day post op and I am feeling pretty good. I have lost 22 lbs. not sure how good that is but apparently it's working because people can see the difference already. I am not sure yet if I did the right thing with this surgery, but the more and more I lose, the better I am feeling about it. I still am craving real food, not sweets but like cheeseburgers and such. I hope I am not the only person that has done this before. 2nd guessing themselves that is. I am getting closer to the point that I don't regret this but not all the way there yet. Also I have been sick with a sinus infection and strep throat. That slowed me down the last couple of days too. I am getting stronger tho. I am now putting my protein in my tube because I can't stomach the protein any other way. Please let me know if you have any protein ideas or recipes for me. Thanks

Hello. I am now 20.5 pounds lighter. I am still not sure that I did the right thing. I am really upset about not being able to eat. I guess I was meant to be fat because I love food. I would be ok if I could even eat raw veggies and dip. I just can't eat that right now and what I have to eat is so nasty. I made myself egg salad for dinner and that was much better than a plain egg. I used light mayo and a shot of mustard and eggs and it was good. Would have been better with a little dill pickle in it though. I really miss eating pickles. I know you have to cut the skin off but why can't you eat them now? Why do u have to wait to month 2? Also, the cucumbers that have to be peeled. Why can't I eat those now with fat free dressing? I really want to eat that. It is soft foods so I just thought that would be ok to do. Anyways, am I the only one that feels this way? Please let me know. Thanks

Hello all. I am back from the hospital. I have a few pics I will be posting of me with my tubes in and my bruised arms and such. It was not bad but dam I can't get an iv in for shit! 6 times it took to get my iv started and they were really getting mad at my veins. I was ok though they were numbing me first. Anyways, not gonna stay on here long but wanted to say I was ok and home from the hospital. Thanks for all your prayers.

Thanks to Sharen and Stephanie for being my Angels. They will come on here tomorrow and update everyone that is checking on me. Thanks for all the support. Without you guys, I would not be so calm. I am starting to freak out right now it's 10:40 pm and counting. I am nervous. Thanks again and see yah on the Loser's Bench!

Woohoo!! 2 more days til surgery! I am so excited but scared all in one. I am still in need of an Angel. Anyone want to volunteer? I feel bad having to ask for one but I would really feel so much better. Please let me know if you are interested. Thanks

Tomorrow is one week until I crosssover to the loser's bench! Woohoo I never thought I would get down to this time frame! I am getting so anxious. I have to lose 7 lbs this week. Any ideas of what I need to do? I am planning on just drinking slimfast and eating fruit for the week. I am so ready for this though. Well, I will write more later and hope to hear from you all!

Hello all!!! I am so excited. 10 days to go. I have had my last nurse class and lab work done at mercy capital today. I have my pcp preopp on Tuesday. Then I am done. I am doing a liquid diet next week so I can get down my last 7 pounds before surgery and I am so excited. Yeah it's gonna be great being on the loser side so make room peeps, I am coming over. I will write more later before than but just wanted to update you. Thanks

Hey everyone! I am counting down the days. Today I went to my Center for weight reduction and got my binder of info and the lovenox packet. It is very interesting. I am so excited. Scared, but excited. I really could use an Angel right now. I was hoping someone in the des moines area that has been through this could help me out but I haven't found the right person. Hey I have a question, when you get nausia from this, are you dizzy or just sick to the stomach??? I am not sure but really need to find out.
Also, I have all my appts. set up. My preopp with the surgeon is Aug. 16 and I will be there for 3 hours, then I have my pcp preopp on Aug. 21 at 5pm. I am getting so excited. Anyways, thanks for listening and I will ttyl.

Great news Today!!!! I got cleared from my sleep doctor and can now schedule my surgery hopefully tomorrow. I am so excited. I will write more as soon as I know anything new!

Hello again. I just wanted to let you know that I was able to schedule my preop diet and exercise appt. for July 10th and my surgeon consult is on July 11 and that is all I have left to do before setting a surgery date. I am so excited. My 2ndary is planning on approving, and my primary is humana through medicare and I should find out something from them next week. I will keep you posted and if any suggestions please let me know. Thanks
