Hi Amos, I have just gotten home from being in the hospital for dehydration.. I havent been able to eat or drink very well the past few days.. I was scoped on Monday and was found to have a large ulcer at the joint where the stomach and intestines were reconnected last Dec.. The GI doctor also felt that I could have a staple line disruption and ordered me to have an Upper GI series.. sure enough.. I have a partial staple line disruption and several new ulcers forming along the line.. My GI doc called my wls .. and they talked.. and I am tentatively scheduled to have another surgery next Wed.. I am so dreading this but cant live with the ulcers either.. Keep me in your thoughts and prayers.. As soon as I get a confirmed surgery date.. I will post that too.. My angels will remain the same as in Dec.. Lavonne Golden and Carol Ford.. and my local angel.. Angela Khan.. Thanks to all you guys.. Love and hugs,

As I have not heard from you recently I am wondering if you are OK. I have tried to call several times and do not get an answer. Hope you are feeling better and the infection has claeared up. Let me hear from you..^j^

Hello Amos, I know I havent been really good about posting and keeping everyone updated on how I am progressing since my recent open RNY surgery on Dec. 12,2000. I developed a wound infection on my 9th day post op and was sent to the local ER to have a culture done. The culture grew Staph and Enteroccoccus. I was also placed on a strong oral antibiotic for 17 days total. I saw my infectious disease doctor this past Tuesday and she was not happy with my open wound, which is still infected and I also have developed cellulitis.She has started me on a new antibiotic which is very strong and expensive.. Zyvox.. costs $100 per pill..thank goodness my ins covered most of the cost.. I had to pay a $25 copay.I am hoping and praying that this works.. if not, the next choice is to be placed on twice a day IV antibiotics for a min of 10 -14 days.She told me that she would arrange for me to do this via a home health care agency so I didnt have to be hospitalized again. I see my internist again tomorrow.I dont know what she will decide. I do know that she wont be happy about the cellulitis. I have lost 33 pounds in my first 29 days post op.. so I have a high point too. I know in a year or so, I will look back on this time and know that every pain, pill, etc will have been well worth it to be smaller and healthier. I do read the messages each day and keep up with what is going on. I sure hope and pray that all of you are doing great. Hugs,

Gina, hope this New Year's Day finds you feeling much beter and taking care of yourself. Things are about the same around here, I will try and cal you later this evening, know that you are always in my thoughts and prayers. ^j^
