Challenged myself and JOGGED 4 times during my walk!

Aug 11, 2009

I realized that walking was comfortable, familiar and not challenging me.  I grew up in Philadelphia, PA and walking was part of the norm.  It didn't mean anything to walk 16-30 city blocks and not be tired or injured.  I moved to Florida in 1990 and things became a bit difficult the blocks are not the same it was nearly impossible to effectively walk.  There has been more consideration for pedestrians over the years so there are now paths, sidewalks and bike lanes which make it easier to get active.

I have been saying I want more results with my weight loss quest.  I know that in order to get a different result I have to do something different.  I have been consistant (except during the week I had the abscess) in walking at least 4 times a week.  I get up around 6:30AM and walk the neighborhood 3.5-4.5 miles each time.

I started the jog on Sunday morning did it at least 3 times during the walk and shaved 15minutes off my usual 45 mins.  Today I was pressed for time because I just didn't want to get up.  I was restless during the night and woke up twice so it was HARD to get moving.  I pushed myself past my normal comfortable spot.  I keep saying that I love watching the Biggest Loser (TBL) on NBC and I remember most of the contestants in the beginning can not do it.  It takes discipline, determination and courage to push past you and find out you now have new limitations.

I wish to continue doing this as I know nothing but positive results lay ahead.

I did my cardio today.

Aug 10, 2009

Even though I hesitantly got started this morning did my cardio with Taebo basics.  I felt good not sure why I haven't wanted to push myself in this area.  I DID IT!

Shared NuVitae with my gynecologist told her that now I have no clue that my menstrual is coming it just shows up.  She said it looks like everything is good was amazed at the limited carbs and no sugar content.  I will have to get her some samples soon especially since she's pregnant.  I remember being constipated all the time and hating to take those huge prenatal vitamins.

I am glad I pushed past me trying to learn new discipline and training habits can be tough.

A lil Angel taught me yday to Just Do It!

Aug 09, 2009

I meet one of God's fighters yesterday on my job.  I have heard the little girl before because she has a very hard raspy breathing pattern.  I asked her mom yesterday did it have something to do with her heart and was blessed, encouraged and propelled to stop complaining and Just do it.

Her mom explained that during a very tough delivery she was caught in the moms birth canal which was too narrow, doctors pulled, twisted and did damage to her throat.  She should have had a Cesarean section but was forced to deliver vaginally.  Little angel was left without or received partial oxygen for 15 minutes.  She was born prematurely and spent 3 months in the hospital.  I just kept looking at her face and thinking this is a fighter, you are here for a reason.  I kept listening to the mother tell of the story with love, tenderness and true adoration for her child.  I kept thinking not once has she gotten angry, or spoken negatively about those who put her child in this position.  Little angel let me hold onto her fingers while I spoke directly to her saying you are a fighter, trooper and you are here for a reason.  Mom was holding her and her breathing quieted, she was being shy according to her mother.

It made me reflect that I am here for a reason too and can overcome any obstacles.  My mother is a miracle one of those fighters she was born a twin.  Her brother was born first weighing in at 2lbs and she came out 5 minutes later at only 1lb.  Born in the 50's in a rural area of Florida called Monticello, it's about 26 miles from Tallahassee, FL and Thomasville, GA.  She had to be kept warm with human heat and rubber hot water bottles.  She was too little to nurse from the tit so they had to use an eyedropper to feed her.  Love, compassion and prayer has kept her alive and well without many illnesses.  Her twin did not make the fight he died 2 days later.

I also birthed a premature baby he was trying to come at least 4 months early, they placed me on medication to stop the contractions.  He came in this world eyes open and has been on target developmentally.

As I was doing my morning walk I got about halfway to the street and something on the inside said JOG to the corner.  I know it was not me alone because I just don't do that.  I got to the corner and kept jogging until I got to the next corner.  I gave all kinds of Hallelujah praises because I just overcame an obstacle.  I kept reminding myself to take it slow its not a race just putting one foot down quicker than normal.  I continued on walking and during another stretch of the walk said ok now JOG.  I did a bit more jogging but stopped questioning myself why are you afraid to continue?  I continued on walking and getting closer to home I thought yeah I know when I get to the corner and take a right JOG.  I jogged from one corner to the next again thanking God that I didn't pass out or hurt myself and walked the rest of the way home.  I noticed that I cut 15 minutes off my walk time and kept saying to myself if you want a different result you have to do something different.  I also kept saying its a jog not a race, 100m dash, breathe take it slow you can do it.  I realize it is foreign I haven't disciplined or trained myself to get this done.

It made me reflect on the Biggest Loser, a show I watch almost every year.  In the beginning most of the contestants look like and some do pass out, throw up and want to call it quits.  Most however after training, getting disciplined and believing in themselves look great on the outside and are running, exercising you name it.

JUST DO IT!

Something is different just can't get motivated 2 do Cardio :-(

Aug 08, 2009

I am still excited and walking every other day, I had to bump the walks up because since the toothache I haven't had the motivation to do cardio exercises.  It takes a lot of effort to get the lead out at 240lbs but I was doing it so what has changed?

I believe I maybe self defeating thinking the weight should be magically dropping off like 10-15lbs every two weeks.  Mentally I realize I am losing at a stable healthy rate.  I still have not made a consistant effort to eat right, I have cut back portions and amounts.  I have found myself lately doing fast food more often with that self defeating mindset of whatever.

I am encouraged that I have not just given up so at least I have a fitting chance at getting over myself.  No one to blame when the EN E MY is ME.   This too shall past as I am recording this blog post I am drawing strength to just do it.  I challenge anyone who is small though to put two 50lb weights one in each hand and go at cardio that is how I feel.

I still am using Billy Blanks my mom had the original tapes 8min workout, basic, and advanced so I just have to pop them in and DO IT.  I love Billy and Dr. Ian because they are motivators, just when I'm out of breathe or want to through in the towel they say something encouraging to keep me focused and fitting.

I am still drinking at least a can of NuVitae a day, it really helped after all those antibiotics had my system all messed up.  I have still noticed that during menstruation I have absolutely no symptoms of cramping, bloating or intestinal tightness.  A friend of mine said its probably the combination of fiber, calcium and magnesium that NuVitae has in it.  Whatever it is I am grateful it makes me look at the calendar because my friend is definitely a surprise visitor now.

:^)  Success!

excersing is hard when battling an absessed tooth

Jul 20, 2009

I didn't get a chance to workout much last week.  An absess on my gum in the front had my mouth swollen like on the Nutty Professor.  I tried to do cardio at least once and walked twice but with the pain never got motivated to do much else the last 4 days.  One good thing that comes from it though is I didn't eat much either.  Only ate enough to take the pills I don't like but needed the antibiotics and pain killers so I popped them regularly.  Glad I had the NuVitae on hand to help keep me hydrated and nourished during this time of illness too.

Blood work fabulous and a 4lbs weight gain with muscle.

Jul 10, 2009

Just got back from the doctors office. I gained 4lbs since my last weigh in but keep reminding myself that muscle weighs more than fat. I hate scales that can be so discouraging if not for the good blood work scores I received. My last blood work was done 1/05 cholesterol went from Tri 138 Chol Total 170 HDL 40 LDL 102 chol/hdlc ratio 4.3 TO Tri 106 chol total 181 HDL 46 LDL 114 chol/hdlc ratio 3.9 Glucose was 101 now 108 so I still need to monitor my sugar intake. Hemoglobin was 11.9 hematocrit 35.9 NOW hemoglobin 13.2 hematocrit 38.7 In 8/04 was Chol 159 Tri 89 HDL 28 LDL 113 ldl/hdl ratio 4.0 Hemoglobin 12.6 hematocrit 37.5. I am a healthier me thanks NuVitae. Will stay strong did 45 minutes of Fat Blasting Cardio Taebo with Billy Blanks this morning.

Staying positive and active

Jul 07, 2009

Saturday July 4th while contemplating on eating this day. I started Taebo Fat Blasting Cardio 45min workout routine and went for a 3.5mile walk with my 12 year old son. He immediately went to sleep from all the exertion but I was wide awake, energized and got my day started. NuVitae has been such a blessing in my life and others who have taken advantage of the healthy nutrients. Did not know how important getting the correct blend of fiber vitamins and nutrients could be. http://www.mynuvitae.com/brownink Order 3 or 6 can samples or get 30 can case shipped via FedEx in 3-4 business days to your home or office. The peanut one source but many sources can be made from it.

NuVitae one drink, one flavor, one size, one delivery.

One is the loneliest number that their ever was but out of ONE can come many.

Google searches done to explain common testimonials from NuVitae users.
