The weight starting creeping up and up after a diagnosis and surgery for ovarian cancer. Menopause at 27 was hard to handle and food become a constant companion. Heck, they told my mother I had cancer and she baked me a carrot cake. That statement alone explains how the reward system in my life worked; bad day, bake cookies, cancer, bake a cake and so on and so on. I've had many succesful attempts to lose weight, but I've never been able to keep it off. Cancer, diabetes and heart disease run in the family. My older brother had his first heart attack at 42 and at 49 is working on his 7th. It is not the future that I want so I'm working to change that course of my life! I have amazing supportive friends that have helped me thru cancer and will no doubt help me to succeed at this change in my life. I'm looking forward to this new chapter in my life and for my life to begin anew at 40!
