Well today was a lazy day today. Just sat around and played on the computer a bit. Worked on some of my pics and scrapbooked them a bit, I'll post a few below so you can see. I am getting anxious just to get the consult over with and see what goes on for the consult. Not sure what goes on in the consult so if anyone can help me out please comment below. Then I guess this is where insurance goes into place, not sure on that either, so please comment on that as well. I go to my Primary Care Provider tomorrow to get the medically supervised diet going. He knows I've been struggling with my weight but hasn't been documented I don't think. I was told need to go to doc once a month for next 6 months without missing a month or it wont count for the supervised diet. So figured get started on that now. I have my consult with Dr Sprunger at Tempe St Luke's on December 28th....so excited. Will update you all as I go along.

Well on Dec 14th I went to the seminar at Temp St Luke's in Tempe, AZ. Some interesting facts learned there. I had went there thinking I was gonna do the band, but changed my mind after hearing some facts in there. I am gonna go for the gastric bypass for sure...yippee. So after the seminar I walked on over to the office and scheduled my consult with the doctor, it's on Dec 28th (my birthday) at 10:25am. I so cant wait to get this going. Cant do much though till after first of year when the new insurance kicks in. Talk to you all soon.

Dec 18, 2011

Hi everyone, sorry for MIA. I was so disgusted at trying to get the money to get to see a doc bout having the surgery, I gave up and thought I'd try to search for another method to lose this weight. Well, I found the HCG protocol diet and tried it for a year, first round I lost 42 lbs on the homeopathic drops, I was all excited. Well with being in college I decided to go the injection route so only had to do an injection of morning and go one bout my business for the rest of the day (for convenience). I struggled so badly on it. Well I went another 3 rounds trying different dosages, different brands, different mixing methods etc, all was a failure. So in December 2010 I decided to take a break from it, stayed off till after I returned from my week long cruise to Alaska which was in May 2011. Well a week after I returned I got back onto another round with the Ovidac brand. Well a tragedy struck our house with my boyfriend having a horrible motorcycle accident, leaving him seriously injured. With all the stress etc that was going on with him and his care, I decided to come back off of it, cause as Dr Simeons said any stress will trigger your journey while on the dosaging. So I come off of it deciding to wait till he was out of hospital and he was doing better which was like 3-4 months later. So I decided to try it once again on Ovidac, giving me a long break. Well..................it did it again, but instead of losing it caused me to gain the rest of my weight back. So I said well this is my last straw, not trying this any longer. Was on the hcg for over a year, if that not determination I don't know what is. Longest I had ever given any diet any chance to work on me. I then tried to do the Bio-medic diet that I had seen some of my on-line friends talking bout that was working so well. Well I only took a half of a dose, cause didn't want to jump into it full force at the beginning to see how my body reacted to it. Well that didn't work, it cause my blood pressure to go to 135/105 within bout 45 minutes after taking the dosage, so I immediately quit that, couldn't take the chance to put my health at risk like that. Scare the tar out of me, felt very weird. So I came across this other one call the Juice Fasting, I bought me a juicer and got all my fruits and veggies, I tried it and I was absolutely starving by 3pm the very first day. Love the juice it made but not very filling, So decided well this is my final try. So I got on-line found the bridges website and started looking up WLS info and the different methods. I had originally wanted to see about getting the Realize band done. I started researching on-line info on it, I set up my seminar which is this week on Dec 14 in Tempe, AZ, I started looking up websites, info, you-tube videos, etc on different ways and reviews on each kind. I heard so many good good reviews on the vertical sleeve gastrectomy (VSG) I think that's the way I am gonna try to go (depending on what my ins allows). Seen and heard too many reviews and stories on the band slipping and damaging stomach etc and sometimes death. I cant afford that, cause got a 3 yr old grandson living with me. So on Dec 14th I will go to the seminar and find out all the info I can and get this started. I cant set up no surgery dates yet unless they want to do it before end of year which I doubt that ever happen. i cant set it up yet cause my insurance changes effective Jan 1 with a different carrier. So have to wait for it to kick in so can call see bout my coverages on the WLS. I will be using Cigna as of Jan 1. So if any of you have had that please by all means contact me to let me know how it went for approval from them. Once I find out the coverages etc, I will start the process to continue to get this done. Thank you for reading this long update but thought I'd let you all know where I stand right now and whats going on. I sooooo cant wait to get this started.

Dec 18, 2011

Well I had all my appointment canceled today due to getting a new job. I've decided to go ahead and work awhile before going on through this. I need to get the funds saved up and maybe can lose some of this weight in the meantime. I have in fact lost weight this week, how I don't know, but have lost a total of 12 lbs this week. YIPPEE!!!!!!. Doing the happy dance here. Maybe things are starting to change in my body and let me start losing some of it on my own. I know some of you don't think I need the surgery but when my health is going downhill cause of the weight and can't get it off on my own, just won't budge, then that's why I am seeking the help of the WLS. But cross your fingers, maybe by time I have worked a bit and possibly got some of it off, HOPEFULLY, then maybe won't need the surgery. Well good luck on all of you all's journey and I will still continue to go to the support groups and be on here and keep this updated like always. Talk to you all soon.

Well good news I got today. I got letter in mail from my PCP referring me to have this done. So I guess that one thing will have out of the way when am ready to go back. Just need to work a bit before can pay the co-pays and fees. Woohoo ! ! !

Well I was at the point of giving up on this process. I even went through and put myself on no mail on the groups I was in on yahoo cause was so disgusted. But got a message from one of the groups am in and advised me to seek out other Centers/Surgeons. So I did that today, and called Dr Juarez and Dr. Fang office at St. Luke's. I have a consult with Dr. Fang on June 23rd and a seminar on June 17th. And financially I think it's gonna work out better. They don't require such a lump sum up front. So am back on the road again. So wish me luck. But still kept up my exercise program of walking the treadmill I just got.
