Help needed!! Revision Surgeons in Dallas Fort Worth area!
Apr 06, 2019
Hi, I had gastric bypass in 2009 and was successful, I lost about 160lbs.. then life happened, my daughter, my only child, attempted suicide and I stopped looking after myself hence I gained about 90lbs.
My daughter is in a really good place now although I'm still always on high alert. In the last year or so, I've done Keto, Atkins and now I'm on Weight Watchers, I lose and gain the same weight.
After a few years of consideration, I've decided to go for a revision.
I'm looking for a bariatric surgeon who can perform the surgery. I live in Grand Prairie Texas. Does anyone know and or recommend a surgeon in the DFW area? Also I would love to hear anyone's experience who had a revision. How did you find it? Did it help?
I really appreciate any and all advice. Thank you!!!
7 years later and 62 lbs gained please help!!!

It's been 7 years of ups and down and i am struggling! I can't get a handle on my weight.
I have tried the high protein low fat diet with exercises, weight watchers, many fad diets, phentermine, saxenda and many other life changes but nothing is working for me, I'mso scared of going back to 400 odd pounds but I'm not far from that!
Does anyone know if you can do a gastric bypass revision surgery? I live in Texas so am looking for a doctor who would be able to guide me.
Is there anyone out there facing the same problems? Any advice or suggestions would be great!
Thank you!!
Wow!! What a year!

This year has been one of the best years of my life! I'm finally living! I'm enjoying my life, I feel attractive, i feel now that there is no stopping me... Having my RNY has been the best decision that i've ever made, it saved my life. Thank you God!
This time last year i questioned whether i had just made the wrong decision, actually for the first 4-5 months i questioned whether it was the right thing for me. I have one piece of advice for the newbies and thats 'give it a chance to work', dont be so hung up on what the scales say, dont weigh yourself daily..if you can, weigh every 2 weeks or even monthly. The best thing that i did was get rid of my scales....I went to the hospital last week for an hysterectomy and thats the first time i've weighed in months...i'm no longer a scale slave.
Last year when i went in hospital for my RNY i had to wear 2 hospital gowns, one for the back and one for the front and last week when i had my hysterectomy i could fit into one gown...i was really surprised. Another achievement was not needing a seat belt extension on the plane...AND i was able to lower the tray COMFORTABLY and with space too..SHOCKING!
Alot has happened since i had my Op last year, i've given up my job and concentrated on ME, i've moved to Texas which is a completely different way of life to London, i'm loving it though. Most importantly weight wise since January 2009 i've lost 157 lbs. I've got 58 lbs left until i get to my personal goal.
Now i'm ready for a new chapter to begin, i'm ready to get back to work and i cant wait for what life has in store for me.
Thank you OH family for all the advice xx
I wore a dress for the first time in 20 years!!

There isnt much to tell as i've just been crazy busy, trying to sort out everything before departing for the U.S. Its funny the amount of stuff you accumulate!

Monthly update

My weightloss is going ok, i seem to be losing an average of 15lbs a month, which i've finally come to terms with. I know its quite slow but thats just the way my body is. I haven't been to the gym in 2 weeks and i feel really bad about that, i've been doing half hour on my cross trainer a day, i know i need to get back in the gym which i will make an extra effort to do next week.
I went for my 4th month check up and i'm low in Calcium and i'm highly anaemic. Next week i will be starting the B12 shots and they've also increased my vitamins.
I hope everyone is doing well on your journey. Until next time xx

I can finally now say I LOVE MY RNY!!
4 Month post op - 61 lbs down!
Oct 11, 2009
My clothes are all way too big for me, but i'm not buying anything else unless i've got a special occasion to go to...in my closet i've got sooo many clothes that still have the labels on there, its just a total waste of money. I'm not happy about my breasts as i've gone down 2 sizes! Why couldnt that have happened on my stomach?? I know my stomach is shrinking slowly, but not as quickly as other parts of my body. My wedding and engagement rings are falling off my fingers, my watch has to be resized and i used to wear a size 10 shoes now i'm 8 1/2 - 9.
My exercise is erratic these days, i've calmed down alot.... my time has been consumed with sorting out visa stuff as we're moving to Texas soon. I'm also taking advantage of the National Health here, so i've been to the dentist to sort everything out as its free, i've got appointments this week with my doctor to get full blood tests and sort out any medical stuff as its also free. My hubby also advised me to make sure to get to the optician before getting to the U S as its very expensive there, so plenty of stuff to sort out. Anyway, no more excuses...i need to make it to the gym 4 times this week, even if its just for an hour.
I can honestly now say that i am no longer a slave to the scale, i dont get depressed when i dont lose (well not recently), i'm coming to terms with the fact that i'm just a slow loser, but i'm losing it!
There is just one thing that i'm wondering if anyone else is going through, whenever i eat a meal about 1/2 hour later
i'm on the toilet with diarrhea, its been like this for about a month. I also have really bad stinky gas, OMG its disgusting and the sounds that come from my stomach are so loud its unbelievable.
Yesterday Ash and i went to a friend of mines for dinner, we really enjoyed ourselves, i last saw my friend in June, just before my op, she was so surprised at the change, even though i was wearing an outfit that was about 3 sizes too big for me, it feels good that poeple notice the changes.
I'm hoping everyone is doing great and loving life. Thanks for reading!
The below photos were taken yesterday on our way to my friends house.
Finally 298 !!

I've been slacking on my exercises as i've been so busy for the last 2 weeks trying to sort out our visas to migrate to Texas.. things are finally moving again and we're hoping to be there by at latest January, fingers crossed. Next week i'm hoping to be back in the gym with a vengence.
The attention that i'm getting from men these days is crazy!! No matter if i go out looking like shit, i still get compliments..i'm just wondering what i used to look like?? Was I a Minger?? For my American friends that means An Unattractive or Ugly person hehe. I was on my way to the Docs office yesterday, so i'm sitting on the train, IPOD on and bopping away to Lady Saw's,' I GOT YOUR MAN', totally oblivious to the guy sitting next to me, anyway he taps me on my arm and i sort of jumped, my first reaction was that he was going to steal my bag but when i looked at him he was FINEEEEE, OMG, if i wasnt married!! Anyway he asked what i was listening to and that he'd been trying to get my attention for the past 10 mins. We had such a good conversation, he asked me for my number as i was coming off at the next stop but i said no, so he asked me take his card which i did, he's a Corporate Lawyer, i'm pleased he didnt tell me that in our conversation as i've got an aversion to Lawyers as my EX hubby is one.....he said if i wanted to hang out or go for a coffee then i should call him.
I will not call him but he was really cool. I came home and called my hubby (in Texas) and told him about it, which i think was a mistake, because these days i've noticed him getting more and more jealous about guys chatting me up....its weird because we always share stuff like that but i think the fact that he's not here, he thinks that i might find someone else... I just need to keep reassuring him that that wont happen.
I cant believe that its already October! Many things planned for this month, a few of my friends will be turning 40 so i've got a couple of parties to attend, lunch with my girls this week as i've been putting them off for the past 3 weeks...looking forward to that.
I hope everyone is doing great and loving their new life. Take care and Keep safe.
Sharon
