May 2023

May 14, 2023

So, now I am past the 10 year mark. Life changes and so do struggles. That is life. BUT because of all teh detailed training pre-op, keeping things in check with post Bariatric RNY has been excellent.

If you are completely honest and keep faith and desire in your heart, you too can reap the fruits of the Bariatric Journey.  Got to tske them vitamins forever, and that's a trade-off worth trading for.

January 2023!!! STILL RNY

Jan 22, 2023

Greetings all!

I have remained below goal weight and found out it's what you make it as with living.

All I can say is that I'm gonna be 10 years post op RNY at the end of February 2013. Time goes on and I'm no saint, BUT the tools are a hard wired that we do to keep things on track.

No matter what you say nor what you do, you have to use all the tools all the time. There is no temporary, no obsession with finding a quicker "fix" for the health and wellness you are desiring. Your choices dictate your results. Accountability will challenge your commitment or lack of.

Yes everyone is different and their believe system will get challenged. 24/7 is the reality of a Bariatric life style change that is as said, "for the rest of your life." Being more honest  about this journey for life... being more honest that with confession with your clergyman is what it truly takes.

"There are no days off." Remember all the tools; every moment; all the time; Hydration/ vitamins for bariatric adults/ exercise/ bariatric foods/ bariatric menus/ and a ton of coping skills for all situations.

You'll have to research your personal preferences, and cut and paste someone else regimen could hurt your physical needs and not get you sustainable results. These are things to get you success and to stay successful, for the rest of your life.

Take care and be safe.

Sep-2022 Still Real

Sep 26, 2022

I am so glad about it. Using all the tools all the time. 24/7 and all the seconds in between. I took this bariatric life literally so my journey remains successful. Still below goal and just taking vitamins as required. Truth and honesty. If you believe and try you will achieve.

June 2022 Still rockin' RNY

Jun 21, 2022

Dang no matter how you do time, it moves forward and since my RNY Feb 2013, I have been keeping things as real as possible. The struggle never stops but you use them coping skills to manage all.

The best advice I got was from my bariatric doctor and surgeons. The WLS process itself; "treat it like a chair with 4 legs. If you remove one leg, the chair won't work."  Use All the Tools simultaneously! Leave yourself with room to gain a few pounds and be flexible below weight, since if you do gain catch it early. You should work daily on not going over or above your goal weight. The journal keeps you accountable for your feelings and actions.

Things that I still face daily are that it is just a tool and it can not fix your brain. Stay responsible.

Re-inventing this process could leave you with problems and issues that are not related to the WLS itself. Skipping stuff like vitamins can make you deficient and possibly have permanent damage to it. Bariatric Adult vitamin dosages are not the same as children's vitamin dosages.

You have to use all the tools and not just foods and drinks that lack nutritional value and eat real food. You need facts to support your WLS coupled with your personal medical history. Opinions do not come with collateral insurance and misguidance should be checked beforehand. Facts are crucial for health and wellness.

The tools: Protein always first, Hydration, Vitamins, and daily Exercises. You do not have to do hard-core exercising to lose fat. You even exercise sitting in a chair. Physical activity does not have to be in a gym. Gardening, carrying your own groceries to and from the car, and doing laundry are considered physical activities too.

YTD stats: HW 297, SW 252, GW 124, LW 111, CW 118 (115-118). My BMI went from the high 50s to 21.1 I'm 5' 2" my age is renewed and physically fit for those that are as much as half my age. The gratitude never stops. Life can still suck and be really F'ed up but those coping skills are like gold and priceless. It is not a race and remember you have to do these tasks with the tools for the rest of your life every day.

CoVid 19-Daily Life- Post Op-RNY since February 2013!

Mar 23, 2021

Since the beginning, it's been about how to get health and quality of life based on physically and mentally being free of obesity morbitities.

It's been that from the beginning. If you do go off the path, unerstand why and face it. Face it all. Dust yourself off and get back into why you started the bariactric journey.

Nothing is perfect by any meang but the coping tool box llows you to do more than survive, since pre-op training allows for keeping the promise you made in the beginning of the journey.A lot of the things I learned are all based on telling yourself the truth in the mirror, being truthful about all your efforts, and owning the cosequences.

Praises and blame all belong to you too, no matter.... no lies.

Okay, so it's been since last August 2020; Covid-19 craziness and still managing the tool. No gym, too much TV, and still making sure that your glorious post op tool kit is keeping things in check.

All my old post hold the truth, and still below my assigned goal; vitamins-hydration-excerises-and "the tool" are what keeps it so. HW=297; SW=252; GW=124; LW=111' CW=116; 5'2" and getting the 180 lbs off took about 18 months.

Still working the TOOL!

Aug 24, 2020

No pictures today, but still working with the tool. Everything,  everyone, everywhere… dang, just everything! Could use lots of thing for excuses... why... big deal in lies to self. So, weight at 119 today... eating too much sodium... ok, since none for the week. Usually cost 2 to 5 lbs in water weight... and I had candy.... we just stop these types of foods, and weight reduces to my happy numbers. Be cack in a few with some results for you to read. Stay healthy and stay safe.

October 2019

Oct 22, 2019

Hello all. Can't believe time flys but it does. Still below goal, and the journey is still that real 24/7. Greatful daily for my RNY journey for a life time health and wellness change. This year has been the hardest with emotional stuff, but the mindset coping skills still are beyond golden. They have allowed me to keep my bariatrics code in check, even if the rest of my life is chaotic. Such is life but the sun still shines, and I am thankful for there being a Bariatrics road for me to find my health.

May 02, 2019

Still here. Just making the best of each moment. Treating my journey as a life time one. YTD, no plastic surgery but would love a mommy make over. Skin does retract but not a great look on the cover of Sports Illustrated ???? I have elimnated all comorbidities and not struggling  with cravings that can cause weight regain. I'm am glad for the gift of quality of life and my persistence in the WLS journey. It's not a race, it for you and the rest of your life. ????

Hello Everyone!!! May 2019

May 02, 2019

It's been a very long time since I've been on my page. Wow. Who knew. The WLS folks are gonna go coconuts. For me the 2015 weight.... A stall? Really? Well, the to is just what it is.  My weight is at the lowest due to extra physical activities and keeping to the Bariatric food types and menu. Occasionally, I eat stuff, but everyone ones path is different. For the last 16 months my current job requs me to be active. So that mean extra fats burning away while I'm working. YTD I'm in excellent health and solid on the scales at 113. There's not cut off seith for the tool. Daily management for Bariatric nutrition, vitamins, hydration, and exercises. I do extra yard work on the weekends too. I'm going to be 59 this year.... Can't tell  unless I say! I am an example for what can be achieved with WLS. I am extremely grateful moment by moment. Blessings ????
