The Center for Obesity called me yesterday afternoon. My date is October 8,2007. 16 Days and counting. I keep on asking myself if this is real,is it finaly gonna happen? Then I realize,yes,YOu are finaly gona get help with gettig this weight off. Prayers have been answered. Pre-Op is this coming Wednesday (9-26-07). Then I have to meet with Dr. Hipp and the Nut again on 10-3-07. Will update again later.

Had an appointment with Allison yesterday. We set me IEP (indivual employmnet plan). She called doctors office yesterday to set scurgery date,but only got answer machine. I called doctor'sa office and got same thing. The nurse called me back,told me that she had my paper work and was going to walk it over to the obesity center then. It will be either this afternoon(Thursday) or Friday before they call to set date.
So hopefully it won't be much longer.

Talked with Allison this afternoon,about an hour ago. I have been approved!!!!!!!!! YEAH BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Waiting for hospitial to contact me and set a date. I am meeting with Allison tomorrow at 2:00pm to set a plan, and go over things with her. WIll post tomorrow.

lost 7.4 pounds this past week and don't know how I done it. Seemes like I did a lot of grazing this past week. But hey, I'll take the loss.

Still waitiing and waiting and waiting to hear from Voc Rehab. I think God is trying to teach me paitience. I will be so thrilled when I am finaly approved.

Cordale was home sick Friday. Took him to doctor,he has streph (sp) throat. Again. He's feeling fine this morning. Thank God for penicillan. He didn't want to go to school this mornig. Told him he either went, or I was going to fine the biggest needle I could fine and give him a shot. He deceided to go. (lol) Gotta get up from here. Need to take dad to get jeans out of the cleaners. More to come.

I called Allison yesterday to check on status. She hasn't heard anything yet. SO she is hoping that means good news.
I will call her again in a few days.

Went to Weight Watchers MOnday night,and I had gained 1.4 pounds. I knew I had been eating like there was no tomorrow,and honestly,I thought the gain would be much more. Got up this morning and that unwelcome guest made her monthly appearance. So now I know what part of the gain was. (I know,TMI.) Will do better this week.

Allison called me yesterday and let me know that her supervisor told her that she would have to go through "chanels" again to resubmit my paperwork. So that means possibly 2-3 more weeks (if not longer ) wait. From what I was told, everybody was suprised that the person with the finaly say so denied me the last time. So,we are praying that things go well this time. If not,may that man hav e 4 flat tires on h is car/ (just kidding)

We are planning to cook out this weekend, if it doesn't rain. Hamburgers,steaks. Haven't grilled out in awhile. May throw some chicken out htere too.

Lost another 1.4 pounds this past week. Down to 410.8.

Allison called me last week. Tol me she e-mailed her supervisor to see if she could just resubmt my paperwork to main Dr. in Tallahassee (who has final say so) or if she has to go through "chanels" again. She will let me know this week. I talked with Stephanie on Friday I believe, and she is doing great. I only hope to do half as good as her when I finaly get to have WLS. Keep up the good work Stephanie.

I got the letters from the doctors office I was waiting on. Went and gave them to allison at Voc Rehab. Of course she wasn't in. Will call her later this afternoon to make sure she got them. Will also try to get her to mail this week. The letter states as follows:

To Whom it may concern:

Ms Aue is a 38 year old white female that has beeen a patient in our office since 2003. She has a history of surgery in 1998 to patch a crdiac heart valve and in 2006 and umbilical hernia repair.

Ms Aue is morbidily obese and reports that this has been a problem since childhood. In the past 30 years she has tried multiple weight loss programs,clinics and diets. She has been participating in the Weight Watchers program and an exercise program since January 2007. As of 8-2-2007 she has lost 11 pounds.

She has now developed dyspnea,elevation in blood pressure and stree on her heart related to the strain on her body due to the obesity. She is now suffering from degenerative arthritis that has developed in her knees and is now in need of toatl left knee arthroplasty. She is unable to ambulate without the use of a cane. The orthopaedic surgeon will not consider aurgery until patient losws 100 pounds.

I feel that this patient would benefit from surgical intervention for her weight.

I also have letter from ortho dr which is much longer,but it does state basiclly same thing.

Lets pray this is what it takes to get approved.

I started weight watchers back in July. In 6 weeks I have lost 14.4 pounds and my BMI has gone from 68.9 to 66.5. I know if I start watching what I eat now, and cutting back, when I'm finally approved for WLS it will be much easier to do.

Don is even proud of me. Which is a shocker. Gotta call Dr's office to see if they have letter written yyet.

Had appt on the 7th with dr. Dr. didn't write letter as we had talked about. She wanted leter from orthopedic dr,about my needing knee replacement in the future. Stated that she would type letter and send both of them in together to Voc Rehab. Felt like it was a wasted visit,(time and money wise).

Got letter from ortho dr. turned it in last Friday (8-10-07),told the girl at desk that Dr. was needing this letter,and knew what I needed. Told her I need his letter by Wednesday. She told me ok,and would give it to dr.
I called Tuesday afternoon just to see where things stood,come to find out,the person that types the letters for the doctors is on vacation this week,and won't be back till Monday. So it will be another week before I can get anything.

Lord, how much more? I know I have not waited as long as some,but it seems that everytime I make a step forward,I get knocked back 2. I know there has to be a reason and a blessing in there somewhere!
