'Dr. Koren is very personable

I first met DR.Koren on Feb,11,2004. And my surgery date was March 1,2004. But let me explaine why it was so soon. I had already done all of my post op stuff because I was acutually schudled to have my surgery December 30,2003 in Morristown NJ. I was at the hospital in Morristown in the pre op room I had all of my meds and was waiting to go in to the or. When for the first time in my life I had a full fledge panick attack and made the nurses unhook my ivand let me go home. When the nurses at Morristown asked the DR. if he wanted to talk to me before I left he said no. So when I got home and after the holidays I called to talk to that DR. and a week later he had his nurse call me back. I am the mother of two small children and I think If I am going to trust a DR. with my life the least he can do is talk to me. So he was not the DR. for me. A friend of mine told me about Dr. Koren and I went to a few support groups and I just knew he was the right DR. for me he makes you feel like a person not just a number or a procedure. He makes you feel like he really cares. I cant say enough good things about him. I have recomended him to many co-workers and friends and they all love him. His office staff is great the are all very nice and treat you with dignity and respect. Then there is Mandy Nyce who is his cordinator she is the best she will answer all of your questions and on the morning off my surgery she was at the hospital and held my hand until I was in the or and out. We had so much faith and trust in Dr. Koren and Mandy that on Sept.1 2006 My husband had the surgery. My advice to any one considering surgery is make sure you are comfortable with your surgeon who ever you choose.

Dr. Koren and his staff are amazing. His assistant, Mandy Nyce, is also incredible. After meeting with a few other surgeons that I was unsure of, I felt at ease with him immediately. He is a miracle worker and has changed my life!

Dr. Koren is an exceptional doctor. He is both kind and compassionate. He is very dedicated to his patients. Between Dr. Koren and Mandy everything is taken care of for you from beginning to end. Any concerns that I had were answered immediately. Dr. Koren has improved the quality of my life - I have lost over 200 lbs. in 16 months. He also did my skin reduction surgery this past August. His office staff is first class just like him and Mandy. I feel Dr. Koren and Mandy ended up being a friend of mine after all was done.

1. I was completely taken back at his whole demeanor. He was like no other doctor I had ever met.
2. I grew to admire and respect him more and more each time we had contact. I'm still amazed at the care and compassion he
relays to his patients.
3. His staff is equally caring. They never looked down on me, or treated me the way many people treat obese people.
4. There is absolutely nothing that I don't like about him! To know Dr. Koren is to love him! Ask any of his patients! This man is truly unique and amazing! God bless him!
5. You can rest assured you're in most capable hands! His surgical skills are as impressive as his bed-side manner.
6. Very strongly. He is the whole package!
7. Yes. He strongly recommends support group attendance.
8. He is open and honest about it, and doesn't sugar-coat it.
9. On a scale of 1-10, the man is a 12!! I cannot say enough about him. You have to meet him to fully understand what I'm saying. Thanks to him, my entire life is changed for the better!!

My surgeon Dr. James Koren is the best! When I met with Dr. Koren the first time, I knew right away that he would be the one to do my surgery. His attitude, his manners, his tone, everything...it set the mood. I knew he was perfect. He was so caring, thoughtful and completely honest. That first visit with him was completely informative. He spent the entire time with me explaining everything thoroughly, answering all my questions in detail to my understnding. He was very honest and open with me and very genuine. He went through everything with me from beginning to end.

Once all was said and done and we were ready to go ahead with surgery, it was a piece of cake. There wasn't a doubt in my mind walking into the hospital. I knew I was in good hands with Dr Koren and his assistant Mandy. They are both very caring and supportive. They are there for you 24/7 to answer any question you have. After surgery you know one of them will be in your room or just around the corner.

One year later here I am 113 pounds, at a total weight loss of 144 pounds. My life has completely changed. I owe this to Dr Koren. Without Dr Koren my quality of life would have been nearly nothing. I wasn't able to play with my children, run, stand for extended periods of time,etc. I was depressed and sick all the time. I am happy now. My family is happy. My life has completely changed and I owe that to Dr. Koren.

There are support groups at Easton Hospital twice a month for those who have had the surgery, scheduled for the surgery and those just thinking about it. I HIGHLY recommend the meetings! You can come listen to those who have had the surgery and talk to us. You can ask us anything you want without feeling pressured, or just sit and listen.

If anyone is considering the gastric bypass surgery, I come to the support group meetings and sit in, then schedule a consultation with Dr. Koren and just see what it's all about. You won't be disappointed. It's a life changing decision, a decision for the better. Thank you Dr. Koren!

Wow!! i was so impressed with Dr.koren he answerd all of my and My husband ?? the presentation was AWSOME !! The people he has working for him were Great esp>> ANN we talked a great length on the phone several times and just the other day she is so helpful.Dr.Koren has a wonderful aftercare program in place at Easton hopsp. the corradinator there is Deb Roder-Willson she herself had the sgry a few yrs. ago I liked her the verry first time i saw her she know how we all feel and I am lookinf forward to working with her

Even tells u all options doesn't try to sell u just on his proceedure. He will be my surgeon and i hope to get the operation early fall on account i have to get the time off from work.
<BR> Mandy Nyce the nurse that works with dr. koren she has been great called me just to ask if i had any questions one day and to see if i was ok. I can't say enough about the group of drs i have seen this past month they have been great.<br></br>

I liked Dr. Koren right from the start. His office staff was great at least to me. He has a great personality and is a great listener. He answers all of my questions no matter how silly I may think they are. I didn't have as much to lose as most of his patients but he is very encouraging none the less. I will probably only lose about 10 pounds a month from here on (5 weeks post-op) but I'm thrilled anyway. As a retired/disabled nurse myself I would rate Dr. Koren as one of the best in the business. I"m only stating my own opinion about Dr. Koren and you may experience things differently. I'm also glad that he had two hospitals to choose from because I wasn't happy with one of them but was overjoyed with the second choice.

Dr. Koren has been great to deal with. He did an exelent job of describing what the risks are and what they do to reduce them as much as possible. His staff is the best, Ann who handles there insurance stuff is great to deal with. And Mandy Nice over at Easton Hospital was invaluable to making this as smooth as it was. I would recommend him and his staff to anyone. If i had anything negative to say about the whole thing is, he dosn't believe in a lot of pain medication, which i guess is probably the best thing medically but something after you get to your room might make the first time getting up out of bed alot easier
