Dr. Koren was great very open honest and helpful expalins everything. He sat weith me an my husband answered all our questins, explained what I would need to do every step of the way> His staf was great with getting my approval from the insurance.And Mandy was a great help with questions and support. She also host a great support group, which helps answer and forgotten questions.I have had many doctors in past years and Dr. Koren has my full trust he is a wonderful person.

My first impression of Dr. Koren was that of surprise. He was very down to earth and extremely intelligent. He showed me a Power Point presentation in his office of all of the risks and benefits of the procedure. I knew when I met him I had found the right surgeon. He consistently delivered excellent care pre and post op. His assistant Mandy Nyce is a true angel. SHe was there every step of the way. She was even in the operating room with her little hat and smiling face on. The only concern I had was a conversation I had with someone in the office who was very short with me. I did address it with Dr. Koren and it has not happened again. Overall his amazing surgical skills coupled with an amazing bedside manner makes him stand out in a world where you seem to have to choose one characteristic or another.

I had my initial appointment w/Dr Koren on September 15th. I was very impressed from the start. His staff are wonderful and helpful, they've helped me answer all the insurance requirements and questions I've had.
I was so nervous meeting Dr. Koren, but he put me at ease and sat me down to explain everything. He answered all my questions and let me know exactly what to expect and results I could have. He took time out and was very detailed in explaining ecery aspect of the surgery. I have to say that the foam stomach, showing the staples and size of the pouch he creates was a good thing, seeing it helped alot more than any photo could have.
I didn't get to meet Mandy Nice; she was called to the hospital for a meeting, but she called me the next day and asked if I had any questions and offered to help me out with any information or anything that I needed.
I definitally felt that Dr. Koren and his office cared and that made all the difference in the world!
I should be applying for insurance approval by March 28th, so keep your fingers crossed!!

I have to say that Dr. Koren has been one of the best doctors I have ever seen. I just couldn't believe that he took probably more than an hour with me and my wife to answer all of our questions. Even though I am the one getting surgery my wife had more questions about the surgery than I did. He completely covered the goods and bads about the surgery. I will give him a 100. His office staff are wonderful and very helpful. I have spoken to Mandy and she is just an angel. I will recommend Dr. Koren to anyone who is looking in WLS. THANK YOU DR. KOREN AND STAFF....

Awesome! He is so kind and very sincere. I am glad I saw him for a second opinion. He is very proud of his training, and likes to spread his knowledge. Office staff is also very nice. Getting appointments is nothing out of the ordinary. I look forward to him caring for me during my revision.

I was very impressed with Dr. Koren when I first met him. The first meeting I had with him was at the Support Group Meeting. I was impressed with the fact that a Doctor would show up at a support meeting, plus stay for the entire meeting and then after the meeting was aproachable to meet, to ask questions for all people pre and post operative.
My Impression of Dr. Koren has only been re-afirmed after meeting him for the exam in the office and pre/post surgical. He is very easy to talk to, very eager to answer any and all questions, very concerned that you understand the proceedure and after care.
His office staff is just as nice and concerned as the doctore. He must treat his staff well because they seem to enjoy working for him and are just as pleasant and eager to work with the patience and Dr.Koren.
There was absolutely nothing about Dr. Koren or his staff that I was displeased with that would cause me not to like anything.
The emphasis on after care is so important to Dr.Koren and his staff that you go into this surgary wanting to be a part of the after care and wanting to listen and suceed.
Dr. Koren was very open and upfront about the risks of surgary. He was also so very thorough with all the presurgical testing that you knew he really cared about the quality of your care.
I would rate Dr. Koren one of the Best Surgions in the Lehigh Valley. He has a very great presence when he comes into your room. You really feel like the man cares about you and your care and your results.
Dr. Koren as a surgeon was wonderful, I have experienced this surgeical proceedure pretty much the way he said it would go....even the pain associated with the proceedure...nothing was a shock or suprise and I like that. He has wonderful bedside manner and presence. I felt very comfortable talking with him. I actually didn't know what to say to him after surgery because he had addressed all my concerns, fears, doubts, and questions prior to surgery.
I would not hesitate one single minute about recommending Dr.Koren or his staff to anyone.
I know you ask the question did you have anything negative to say because no one can be that perfect......well honostly I could not find one negative thing to say. So if you want something negative...I felt like I was hit by a bus and was sore for the first couple of days after surgery....but, it isn't something that I didn't expect or wasn't told. So if you can find a way to make the surgery so there isn't as much pain I guess Dr. Koren would then have to be considered perfect.

Dr.Koren has a very warm,gentle personality which made it very easy for me to talk to him.The office staff is and probably always be very helpful to me and to others.There was nothing about Dr.Koren that i didn't like.HE'S A GREAT CARING MAN.Alot of after care to make sure your ok.Exercise and eating the right diet.Dr.Koren goes through every step of the surgery with you.I will rate Dr.Koren a 12/10.I think both are better for the patient.

I was totally impressed with Dr. koren from day one. I have never had a doctor that truly cared about the welfare of his patients as he does. Each meeting left me more at ease with my impending procedure. When surgery time arrived the Dr., along with the Mandy, the nurse coordinator for the beriatric center at Easton,PA; were just wonderful! I am free to contact them day or night with any concerns or questions. Everything was explained thoroughly concerning the surgery and it's risks. Nothing was ever glossed over. They have both alleviated fears about my surgery. No question I asked was every stupid or not important enough. I would recommend him to anyone interested in investigating laproscopic surgery. I do feel he's the best at what he does. He's given me a new lease on life!

Dr. James Koren is a wonderful doctor. After we met I knew he was the surgeon for me. I can honestly say I have not heard one single negative word about him. His staff is number one. Mandy has put up with all my phone calls. Trust me there have been many and Ann has been great helping me get insurance approval and helping to keep my family doctor up to date with all my test results. They have NEVER made me feel like I was bothering them even though I must have been driving them crazy.

I would recommend Dr. Koren and his staff to anyone who is interested in learning more about Bariatric surgery. Trust me....Dr. Koren and his staff will answer any questions you may have.

I finally got to shake the hand of Dr. Koren today. What a wonderful man and Doctor he is. He really knows what he is talking about when it comes to WLS. I felt so comfortable sitting across from him and he makes you feel so at ease. I even got meet Mandy who is Dr. Koren's Bariatric Coordinater. I felt right at ease with her because she has had WLS and understood where I was coming from.

Dr. Koren has monthly support group meetings every month at Easton Hospital. The 3rd week of every Wednseday and 4th Saturday of the month and let me tell you they are worth going to as you'll get to meet the best surgeon around plus meet Mandy who is Dr. Koren's Bariatric Coordinater. Anyone is welcome to come.

Dr. Koren rocks when it comes to his patients. He really cares about you and lets you know it. He also has wonderful fallow ups on each and every patient.
