I've only had my first consultation with Dr. Givens thus far, but he seems very personable, and knowledgable. The office staff were all very nice, and very well versed in the process. They are a Center of Excellence for WLS, and it shows. There is a highly structured program of pre op and post op care. There will be several requirements, one of which is a nutrition and post op care class. As I work through the process, hopefully I can update with more details.

Went to a support gruop meeting in May 2007 Dr Strickland was the speaker I was very impressed with him. I decided at that point that I wanted him to do my surgery. When the office called to schedule my consultation I told them I wanted Dr. Strickland and was informed I would have to wait a couple of weeks to see him. I decided to wait. So far I don't have any negative comments about him.

My first impression of Dr. Antonetti was that he didn't quite listen to everything I said. But, I felt very at ease and comfortable mostly because of his last name. It reminded me of times in my childhood and a favorite teacher, a best friend, and others. My impression changed the closer it got to my surgery. I realized he has a sense of humor and I like that in people. I grew to like him and trust him more and more. It also helped that I did research on the Internet. He also made sure that I understood what was expected of me prior to surgery and that I understood the risks involved in surgery. I think the office staff is very professional with the exception of a couple of his nurses. I don't think some of the younger nurses have much experience at being patient sensitive and caring. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Antonetti. He is very professional, asks questions, always has a smile, and is very knowledgeable and skilled in his profession. We have to remember that doctors are not mind readers and if we have questions we need to ask. Dr. Antonetti is no different except that he will ask if we have any questions and will answer questions in a way that non-physicians would understand. I think Dr. Antonetti is an asset to Lexington Medical Center and we should all feel blessed to have someone of his talent and reputation in our community.

Dr. Marc Antonetti was really great. His office staff was very good and very supportive. They did not make me feel like I was a bad person or anything, they treated me with respect and dignity. I don't have anything to say about the surgeon, but I've been calling someone in his office named Lisa for 2 days and she has not called me back. I left anothermessage today.rnrnToday is 12/11/2007, and I'm getting very upset with Riverside surgical. My insurance tells me that my adjustments are covered now and because they have had problems with BCBS covering this in the past, they want me to pay $200 upfront and then let them file it for me. My insurance says that they should file first. I've called and spoken to the office manager and given them a number to call my insurance to confirm that the procedure is fully covered now, but they refuse to call me back. I would hate to think that they just want money and are not looking out for the interest of their patiens.

My first impression of my doctor was \"My God he is handsome\" Once I got over his looks I realized he is a good doctor and knows what he is doing. He made me feel comfortable and excited to take this journey with him leading the way. I had some concerns but he reassured me that the surgery was safe and that he would do his best to help me. I have seen him several times and he is always so down to earth and relates to his patients. I would recommend him to everyone in need of this surgery. God sent me Dr. Antonetti and I will always be greatful to him and his staff at Lexington Medical Center.

Could not ask for a better more caring DR.

Dr. Givens seems to be a very friendly, concerned and honest surgeon. He made me feel very comfortable right away!!! rnHis office staff were very friendly courteous. I am confident that this will be a much better experience than last time.

Dr. Strickland made a great first impression and he's handsome to boot. He got right to business. He told me FIRST that I could die from this surgery. Then he told me about the surgery and the positive ways my life will change. I appreiciated his honesty.rnrnThe staff is nice. Especially his nurse, Mindy. She is so tiny but seems to understand what we are going through. You can feel her compassion.rnrnDr. Strickland isn't a yes man. Read my profile. I ws ticked off at first then I started realizing that he really had my best interest at heart and we worked through it together. I'm 2 years post-op and Dr. Strickland and staff have been there for me the whole time. I had a little problem with twisted bowel and Dr. Strickland identified and corrected the problem immediately. Through all the ups and downs (very few downs) he and his staff have been so supportive and uplifting. I stronly recommend this surgeon not only for his bedside manner and expertise but simply for being a doctor that REALLY cares for his patient's well-being.rn
