I used to work at Lexington Medical Center when Dr. Givens started doing Bariatric Surgeries as well as other types as well. Back then I was just curvey, and wasn't interested in the surgery. I watched him roll a patietn from the Emergency room to the preop area himself, and reassuring that patient she would be just fine. That made a lasting impression, how often do you see Doctors pushing patients beds themselves?rnrnWhen I went to him for Gastric Bypass surgery, his group has a very thorough program, and he was awesome. No question was too stupid, and he was very positive even when I expressed my concerns.
My first impression of Dr. Strickland was very favorable. He really listened to me as a patient instead of telling me what we needed to do. We together weighed the risks and benefits of each surgery and decided on the way to go about my surgery. Aftercare is very important to Dr. Strickland so that he can monitor your progress and problems over the years for the rest of your life. He was very caring and answered all my questions . There is nothing negative about him as a surgeon or a doctor. I would rate him as an excellent choice to anyone who is considering weight loss surgery.
He is fantastic and is so charismatic. I am looking forward to having my surgery done by him and his associates. I attended the seminar today (Nov. 6, 2006) and the staff I have met so far are fantastic. I have my first appointment on Nov. 13, 2006 and will let you know any other thoughts then. Dr. Strickland's office staff is fantastic and so happy for everyone who gets their dates and reaches their goals. They are extremely supportive and helpful. What do I like least about Dr. Strickland - hmmmmm - can't think of a thing lol! Aftercare is a really big thing with Dr. Strickland. I cannot think of a thing he has not addressed or some member of his staff addressed for him. I am ready to do this and he is the one I trusted to do it and I have no regrets!rn
I first saw Dr. Strickland at the initial seminar May of 2005. Very informative.rnrnFeb. 20, 2006 Consultation to day was great. Their staff was wonderful and made me feel at ease. Dr. Strickland answered all my questions and was impressed that I had researched so much on OH Website.rnrnI still am very pleased with Dr. Strickland and his staff. I always get a fast response when I call with a question and their support team is wonderful. I am so glad I made the call and went to the first seminar. It truly has changed my life for the better.rnrnrnrn
Dr. Antonetti performed my surgery while he was still on active duty with the Air Force, at Travis AFB, CA. rnrnHe had an incredible bedside manner and was so confident in his skills. His self confidence made me feel so at ease. I never once doubted his abilities and was impressed with every step of the process. He explained everything, step by step, and I swear, I love this man! He has totally changed my life.rnrnHe left CA when I was about six months post-op so he has no clue just how successful this surgery was for me. I plan on contacting me and showing him my before/now pictures.rnrnHe is an amazing surgeon and I highly recommend him!
Dr. Antonetti is a very good surgeon. I have the utmost confidence in his surgical skills. He explained the procedure to me in terms that I could understand. I believe that he was very up front with me concerning the risks and benefits of the different types of surgeries and helped me come up with the right decision for me. He came to see me every day that I was in the hospital and has been very caring for each appointment afterwards. I would recommend him very highly to anyone contemplating this type of surgery and he's not bad on the eyes either.A very dreamy, tall dark Italian.

Dr. Givens was everything I expected and more. I cannot say enough about him and his team at Riverside Surgical Group. Anyone considering WLS who is able to get to Columbia, SC should schedule an appointment with these folks. THEY ARE GREAT!!
