Weight Loss Surgical Center of Baton Rouge Bariatric Center

My first impression was "Wow he is cute"...my impression of him and his staff were that they are EXTREMELY helpful...the surgery is scheduled for this friday and i am looking forward to having it done. i believe overall that i would recommend him to anyone who is having the surgery. the only problem i actually had was with kristy his financial advisor. i was told one price and then when the surgery approached i was told another. we had our words but they still are a pretty good group to go with.

THE BEST DOCTOR I HAVE EVER MET VERY GOOD YOU CANNT EVEN SEE MY LITTLE SCARS FROM THE SURGERY IT BEEN ALMOST TWO YEARS NOW I HAVE LOST 125 I STILL HAV'NT GAIN ANY OF MY WEIGHT BACK.I AM NOW WEARING A SIZE 6-8 INSTEADE OF A 22-24. THE SURGERY WAS VERY EASY AS FAR AS SURGREY GOES I HAVE HAD MANY SURGERY OVER THE YEARS I NEVER MET A DOCTOR AND HIS STAFF THAT CARES SO MUCH FOR YOU AS A PERSON. THE SURGERY SAVE MY LIFE I WENT FROM 11 PILLS A DAY TO 3. I AN 61 YEARS OLD NOW EVEN FOR OLDER PEOPLE WHO WANT A BETTER LIFE IT IS WELL WORTH IT. YES THEY GIVE YOU A LOT OF INFORMATION ON AFTER CARE. DR HARGRDER WAS VERY UP FRONT WITH THE RISKS THAT WAS WITH THE SURGERY AND AFTERWARDS. HE IS THE BEST DOCTOR IN THE WORLD.HE IS THE BEST BEDSIDE DR. TO0. I
HAD COMPLETED TRUST IN THE DOCTOR NO REGRATES. WHEN I CAME HOME TO FL I DIDN'T HAVE A SOPPORT GROUP SO IT WAS A LITTLE ROUGHT BUT WHEN A REAL IMPORTANCE QUENTION CAME UP I CALL THE OFFICE AND THEY WAS REAL GOOD GIVING ME THE INFORMATION I NEED IT

Dr. Bellanger took his time explaining to my husband and I what would happen and when. I was very comfortable with his knowledge and professionalism he showed in his work. Even though there were several people at my office that have used him for this surgery, he still took his time explaining everything so that I knew what was going to take place. I would strongly recommend his services to anyone who is looking for a docter for this type of surgery. He has made myself and my entire family very comfortable with this decission I have made and am looking forward to the outcome and success of my surgery.

Dr. Bellanger has worked extensively with my sister-in-law who is a surgury nurse. He also was the surgeon who diagnosed and removed my appendix.
First impression and current impression is outstanding. The staff at NeWeigh is incredible. I found nothing to dislike about any of the experience.
Dr. Bellanger is part of a network of people who prepared me for surgury. The hospital specializes in this surgury and the entire staff is top notch.
The aftercare program is "administered" by NeWeigh and Vista Surgical Hospital.
He explained the risk. I had no complications.
There is nothing negative to be said, except that he isn't necessisarily the most talkative of people. But he gets to the point.

Dr. Bellanger is a wonderful, thorough Dr that will REALLY listen and cares about the well being of his patients. Dr. Bellanger had preformed another surgery on me previously so I was very much at ease with him. His office staff have always been SUPER helpful to me. Anything I need from them, they are on top of it. I would recommend him to ANYONE who told me they were thinking of doing this proecedure.

My first impression of Dr. Bellanger is that he is a very informed and straight to the point surgeon. He seems very competent. I was very comfortable with him during my first consultation. He informed me of all the steps that would be required and also the risks.
His office staff was at NeWeigh. They have been very supportive and always willing to answer any question I have. They have never seemed to be bothered by any of my questions or problems that have come up with insurance. They also informed me of every step that I believed to be important to making the decision to go forward with surgery. They also have done most of the dealing with my insurance, therefore taking alot of the stress off of me.
Dr. Bellanger and staff stress before, during and after care. Since most of the NeWeigh staff has had the operation, they are very informed and supportive of all the steps and procedures that must take place to use this tool to be successful.
I would rate both surgeon and staff from a 1-10 scale -- an 11.
I believe that competence is the most important aspect of this whole journey, with bedside manner a very close second.

My first impression was hey I know this guy, yea we were in the same class in high school, so i new i could ask him any and all questions and get and honest answer.
The more questions my wife and I asked, and his honest answers eased my mind about this major life style change. He and his staff were great and reasuring, making my decision easier to go through with the surgery. Dr. Drake and the staff were very thorough in there preop testing and the staff at Vista were also great, comforting my family and myself while there. He emphasied about coming to the support group meeting, that they were informative about aftercare and maintaining protien intake, products and all that good stuff, but the 2 hour drive, just can't do it. I talk to alot of people who have had wls or who knew someone and they tell me so and so had to stay 9 days in icu, one said a friend stayed in and out of hospital for weeks due to complications they had, don't know the situation but i was in and out in 3.5 days, no problems with anything except few times maybe ate too fast are didn't chew well, but hey, Im doing just great, so on that I'd rate Dr. Drake a really competant and caring surgeon

My first impression of Dr. Hargroder is this man knows is his stuff. He was kind and willing to answer any and all questions. My impression over time of him only got better. He has a wonderful bed side manner.
The office staff, are truly on top of every aspect of the process. They are very prompt in their response and efforts to get everything done for you. Future patients should know they are truly in the very best of hands. Don't let the location of the facility deter you (middle of know where practically). The facility is not the most modern, but it is very adequate and they have kindest and friendliest of staff throughout the entire hospital. The emphasis and structure of aftercare was discussed and materials were shared with each patient on resources available during the recovery and aftercare process. The risks were addressed very thoroughly and put to rest any fears one might have about the surgery itself. Surgical competence is better. But Dr. Hargroder had both and made me very comfortable and assured me that I had chosen the right team.
