An AMAZING man!
When I first met with Dr. Nigh, he made me feel very comfortable and at ease. He answered any questions that you had and was willing to listen about any concerns that you may have also! He was very thorough with his class on the bariatric procedures, and was very personable with his one on one with me to decide which procedure would be best for me and also very informative as to why he picked the procedure that he chose! I really like Dr. Nigh, he is very soft spoken and a very knowledgable man! I thank God for him, he has made my life so much better, I wonder where I would be in a few years had I not chosen this route and came across such a wonderful Dr. Thank God for watching over him and I both on my rebirthday 11-29-05!!!!

I thought Dr. Nigh a bit shy. But he directed a lecture on obesity and weight loss and surgery with professional standards. In my personal interview with him, he was kind and gentle. He answered all my questions and was supportive. He addressed the need for continued care and he addressed all the risks associated with the surgery.
The staff at Community North Bariatric Clinic is extremely supportive and cooperative. I receive weekly emails and they answer my questions and return my calls in adequate time.
I have only met with the physician twice, and the psychiatrist a number of times.
I am waiting to complete an appeal to the insurance company so I can continue with my surgery plans.

My initial consult with Dr Nigh was very good. He is very professional, but kind, softspoken, and compassionate. He has continued to be all of those things. His staff is terrific...answering any questions, and always encouraging. The aftercare program is very good, and it continues to be updated and refined. I felt very prepared for my surgery, and there were no surprises. The pre-op process and the post-op program answered questions I didn't even know I had.
While surgical competence is the top priority, I also wanted a surgeon who was in this for more than the cash. I found that in Dr Nigh. I don't have anything negative to say, because I had no complications at all, and no negative experiences with Dr Nigh or his staff.

Dr. Nigh is a very observant and detailed surgeon. I have loved him from the start. I did some research on him prior to choosing him and I was lucky enough to be able to watch him with other patients before making my decision and his bedside manner is totally upstanding. Every question I have ever asked him has been answered throughly. He is quiet but knowledgeable. I have the upmost respect for him and Dr. Distlear who assisted him in my surgery. They make a super team.
My impression of Dr. Nigh and Dr. Distlear has never been altered - from pre-op to post-op, I have been well taken care of. Dr. Nigh has a very detailed and indepth look at what complications could occur and is open to answer any questions you may have.
The Clarian Bariatric staff is top notch, most of them have undergone this surgery and not only are they professional and courteous but they are experienced - literally - in what you are about to go through. Dr. Nigh also has another office and luckily, before surgery, you are given the number to the nurse who works directly with him. Occasionally, I have had to speak to his secretary and she either is not informed correctly of things or she is just good at being general - details are not her forte. At least, that was my experience with her.
What I like least is that Dr. Nigh and his partners do not have a specialty unit but this will change in August. They are going to be relocated to Clarian North (just being built) and so the care from the hospital nursing staff will change for the better cause they will be specialty bariatric nurses to care for you after surgery.
The future is very bright for Dr. Nigh, his partners, and his staff. It can only get better from here on. Dr. Nigh is very experienced and professional at what he does and if there is a problem - he will do his best to fix it.
The Clarian Bariatric program has a mandatory nutrition support group that you have to attend for a year after surgery. But if you wish to attend pre-op or forever post-op, they would prefer it. Their registered dieticians are excellent and they are on-call for you 24 hours a day. They also have a work-out room you can use anytime when they are open.
All in all, I believe that for me, I made a great decision choosing Dr. Nigh. I would not have had it any other way. I trust him and his partners with my life and have not been disappointed.

Dr. Nigh is wonderful! I have had plastic surgery by Dr. Wally Zollman in Indianapolis three times since my gastric bypass. These two men have changed my life completely! There are no words in our language to thank them for what they have done. Dr. Zollman you are an artist!! Thank you Dr. Zollman for recommending Andrew Nigh, MD to me. I can see why you have been voted "Best Plastic Surgeon" in the Indianapolis area on numerous occassions. Because of you, I am proud of my body. I thank both of you for your honesty about risks involved. You both made me feel so comfortable at each and every examination. You two will never know how you change peoples lives daily. I appreciate and love both of you and would highly recommend you both.
