I will be meeting with him October 11th.

*** Met with the surgeon today. He seems very prepared for just about anything. Very aware of infections and blood clots, etc. He was very much to the point with his presentation and was willing to answer any questions. I have to say.. he was almost an hour late to the meeting, but, you never know what he might have been doing. His office staff was extremely helpful and I got most things done one right after another. I was there from 10:30 to 4:00 but it didn't seem nearly that long. At Winlife they strongly suggest aftercare and have a 5 year program with 24 hour support for all patients. Overrall... I think this will be a very good experience for me.

I liked Dr nigh from the moment we met. he is a very kind, patient man that was very very realistic with me and the rest of the group I was with. I liked his honesty and appreciated not being treated like a person that had no idea what he was talking about.
He was very very through in his presentation of all facts and research related to WLS.I can't say Idisliked anything about him at all.
I really liked the office staff at Winlife.
Everyone was so friendly and open ...non-judgemental.They really worked fast to get me re-approved and scheduled for surgery.
the staf really stressed how important it was for me to take advantage of aftercare...which in this program all participants are given 5 years of aftercare/followup!!!!!!!. I really feel at peace with my decision to go with this program and can't wait to have my surgery
UPDATE!!!!
I am now 3 weeks post op and I only have one negative thing to say. I feel that each patient should have a investigative EGD performed prior to discharge. In my case my ring opening was way to narrow for anything to go thru it. It was a matter of time before I would have had to have an EGD performed. Because the silastic ring is applied to the outside of the stomach there is no way for the surgeon to know if the opening is wide enouhg or not. I got a pill stuck and the endoscopy was necessary to remove the pill as well as to dialate the ring opening. I am doing better now, but this could have been avoided if the EGD had been done prior to my discharge.

I thought he was very nice, he gave me all of the time i needed to understand the surgery ( that was quite long because my mom, mother-in-law and my husband was all there asking questions) The staff was great they were very understanding. There was nothing i did not like about him. He is very gental, concerned and yet he is very upfront about your condition. He told me all the risks involved. and the anastesiologist was awsome too he also explained everything to me in detail! The dr stated how important it is to follow the diet and walk, walk, walk. also to keep in touch with someone from the support group and believe me that works! I would rate my Dr. Winona staff, hospital 100% and i would do it all over again!!!!!!!

Dr. Nigh at Winona Memorial Hospital, Winlife program was a very nice and informative man. He allowed me to ask a whole list of questions and answered all to my fullest satisfaction. The staff has been very friendly and supportive ,even when I had problems and was crying . they were very understanding. Alot of the staff have had the surgery so they know what each person is going through.
