My first impression of Dr. Nigh was that he is very soft spoken and he answered all questions that I had. He did not try to rush me in any way eventhough he had many persons to see after me. At Winlife everyone is absolutely adorable, they are all very nice and helpful. I felt very comfortable. The only thing that I felt uncomfortable about with Dr. Nigh was that he didn't explain the after mass of the surgery. I have been reading other patients stories. I really didn't know what to expect. But then again, Had I have asked him I'm sure he would have told me. So therefore that is my fault. I will be in a support program for 5 full years after surgery.

I have only meet him once in a group setting He did appear to know what he was talking about. The office staff at Winlife is wonderful. They have a five year after care program. that includes a dietitian nurse and behavioral counseling as well as support group.

My first impression of Dr. Nigh.... hmmmm he's cute! (Sorry-but it's true!) Anyway, I found Dr. Nigh to be very calming, informative and helpful. He was careful to explain that the surgery by itself, is not a cure. The behavoral support provided by the Winlife staff is critical for success. The entire staff seems very caring and empathetic with how it feels to be severly overweight. Dr Nigh in particular is the first doctor I have known that did not make me feel like a faliure. This is the biggest decision of my life!

My first impression of Dr. Nigh was not that great. I felt like he was just pushing us through on the first visit, but he isn't like that at all. He was very gentle and kind to me before the surgery and very helpful after the surgery.

Well, today was my inital consult. Dr. Nigh is such a nice person. He answered my 39 questions (LOL) and didn't even look at his watch the entire time. He was VERY knowledgable, kind, and explained things to me at my level. He strongly emphasizes the aftercare program (which is very thorough) and covered each area of the risk factors. Prior to meeting him, I researched former patients of his and his creditials. Needless to say, they're VERY impressive and his patients report the same. My only complaint (which is minimal) was that each department seemed very separate from one another. (IE: information obtained on the inital stuff wasn't forwarded to the other departments.) Also, they failed to inform me of a cost (out of pocket) at this initial appointment...and I was under the impression that everything was being billed to my insurance. (Fortunately I had some money.)Otherwise, good experience. I'll keep you posted on things.

I've only had my initial appointment with Dr. Nigh... However he was really nice, and he answered all of my questions. I will update later after I have more interaction with him.

I was first introduced to the Winlife program in August of 2000. I had my initial meeting with the Winlife staff in early September 2000. I was amazed and impressed with the thoroughness of the program. I was seen by a psychologist and had to take a psychological exam before ever being considered for the program. Winlife took all the pain out of my steps by submitting my request before my board of insurers. I was accepted for the program in nearly 2 weeks. I was given my pre-op testing date and surgery date at this time. The big day that i was to report for surgery was a little scary but soon after meeting with my surgeon and nurses i was at ease and looked forward to my new journey instead of panicking. I was told that the Winlife patients do so much better than the general surgery patients and that it was a direct result from all of the pre-op testing and information that we are given. I never felt in the dark nor did i find my recovery to be a painful one. My biggest advice to those scheduled for their surgeries is to get up and walk after surgery as soon as you feel up to it. Walking helps to speed recovery as well as help with the pain following surgery. I would suggest this program to anyone. I am newly post op and will try and keep you posted to my progress.

Although I have only met with him once, so far, I found Dr. Nigh to be very sincere in his concern for me, and very optimistic that he could help. He explained in detail what the procedure entails, and the risks involved. He took the time to answer all my questions, and didn't make me feel like they were stupid ones.

The staff at Winlife was wonderful! They were all caring, friendly, and helpful.

Aftercare is emphasized a great deal, and the Winlife program offers a 5 year follow up program. At no additional cost. This consists of support groups and consultations with a dietician.
