Dr. Nigh is a competent and sound surgeon. He is mild mannered and completely focused on his task at hand. Dr. Nigh checked in on me each day after surgery and assured me that my progress was "typical." Remember, surgeons aren't generally overally personable - what we're looking for is surgical competence and I found that with Dr. Nigh!

I have known Dr. Nigh, in a working atmosphere, for 20 years. He has always been considerate of his patients. He has a quiet manner. I have never seen him get upset or mad either at the patient or the hospital staff, or even himself when things did not go as planned. I have never heard anyone say anythng negative about Dr. Nigh. He is a vey likable person. As a surgeon he is first rate. He talked to me about the surgery risks, and never presummed to think I knew any answers. Yet he never talks down to me. He takes his time when I come in for a post op visit so I never feel rushed. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Night, his staff or the staff at WinLife. I really hae no negative comments about Dr. Nigh. I do have a few about the nursing staff on the floor after surgery.

I found Dr. Nigh to be a sincere and caring person. He took the time to listen to some of my concerns and questions. The Winlife office staff are wonderful. Very caring people, very patient with me and my questions.Everyone at Winlife stresses the importance of after care. They have a very structured aftercare program. We talked about the risks of surgery and I think he approved of the fact that I'd researched as much as I could about the surgery.I would give him a very high rating just because of his caring ways when he talked with my mom about some of her concerns for my future and the surgery. While I have yet to report on his surgical skills, his attitude and caring ways make feel comfortable about his doing my surgery.

Dr Nigh seems to be a very caring individual. I have only met him twice, both times on same day so my opinion of him has had no time to alter. The office staff at WinLife (Winona Hospital) bend over backwards to accomadate you. He led an instructional meeting to a group of 5 patients to help them to understand the surgery and gave the impression that no question was unimportant. After care is very crucial and he explained the importance of checkups and vitamins and all that good stuff. Exercise was also explained as a must if we want to succeed. Yes, he did addres the risks of surgery, that infections
etc. can occur and Death has occured but not at Winona. So far, Dr Nigh has 100+% rating from me. Surgical competence is very important but it sure doesn't hurt if the bedside/personal manner is there. Takes away a lot of the stress. Again, I have only met the surgeon twice, so maybe my 100% great is off?

MY FIRST IMPRESSION WAS HE WAS VERY CARING ND WANTED TO KNOW WHAT QUESTION I HAD FOR HIM. MY IMPRESSION OF MY DOCTOR HAVNT CHANGED.THE STAFF AT THEOFFICE ARE VERY FRIENDLY AND WILL HELP YOU WITH ANDTHING YOU NED TO NOW.I CAN SAY HONESTLY THEIR WAS NOTHNG I DIDNT LIKE ABOUT HIM.THAT HE WILL B AS HELPFUL AND H AN .AND VERY PATINE SO ASK WHAT EVER QUESTION YOUE HAVE AND HE WILL ANSWER.HE LET ME KNOW THAT AFTERCARE WAS VERY IMPORTANT TO ME AND THEY WERE THEIR TI HELP ATALL TIMES.YES, THEY HAVE A VERY GOOD AFTERCARE PROGRAM AND LET YOU KNOW THEY WILL BE HEIR AND HAVE PEOPLE THEIR THATCAN HELP.THEY LET ME KNOW THEIR IS SOME RISK IN HAVING SURGERY.BUT HAVIN THE SURGERY OUT WEIGHS THE RISK.I WOULD RATE THE DOCTOR AND STAFF 110 PRECENT.BOTH SURGICAL COMPETENCE,AND BEDSIDE MANNER ARE GREAT.

Dr. Nigh is very caring and wonderful. He listened and did a great job with my surgery. As i have gone in for follow up appts. he is very attentive and informative of whatever i might ask. The office staff is GREAT! They are very supportive and encourging. The dietitian is very good also. There is really nothing negative i have to say about Dr Nigh or his staff. I have been cared for and taken care of wonderfully. I was immediately taken care of as far as making an appt., the pysh eval., etc. And had an appt as soon as insurance ws approved of. There is a support group in place that meets on an every other week basis. Issues from A to Z are discussed and eating issues. It is all covered. The risk of surgery were discussed very openly and my husband and i both felt as though we had all the time in the world to ask questions and nothing was to personal or dumb to ask. I would rate Dr Nigh with an A plus. He is wonderful. His surgical competence and bedside manner were both great.

Dr. Nigh is the consumate professional. He answered my 3 pages of questions and gave me all the information I needed before surgery. After surgery, he and the staff at WinLife took such good care of me, even to the point of fighting with my insurance company to have me readmitted to Winona Hospital.
Dr. Nigh's bedside manner is one of caring, compassion and professionalism. I would highly recommend him to anyone considering WLS.
