Dr Andrew Nigh and I are "old pals". Well, not really but he did perform my first surgery in September 2001. And I trust him to get me through the revision to the RNY and hernia repair in November 2004.

From my interaction with Dr. Nigh, he cares alot about his patients. On incident comes to mind from March of 2004. He and his associates were having trouble with the way that Winona wanted them to take care of wls patients. All three wls surgeons decided to move out from Winona to another hospital. Dr Nigh called me at home on a Sunday evening to explain the situation, answer all my questions, and let me know that I have a choice to make. He didn't pressure me one way or another to come with them to Community North or to stay with the Winlife program to get the corrective surgery that I needed so desperately. After discussion with Dr Nigh and his patience in answering my questions, I made the decision to follow him to Community North.

I had my consultation for revision at the end of January 2004. Dr. Nigh called me in March. I got approved by my insurance company for the surgery in June. I was scheduled for pre-op testing in beginning of July but had another medical condition creep up and ruin things for me. So now in November 2004, I am getting my pre-ops done, my nutrition class and hopefully the revision on Nov 30 or the early part of December.

He is wonderful! This is my 3rd surgery with him. He is very caring and knows his stuff. I've got several friends that swear by him! I'm even switching hospitals and clinics to follow him!

His office staff at Community North is great.

You can trust him. He is also part of the trama team at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

His aftercare program follows you for 5 years. It's one of the best in the area.

I would rate him 12 on a scale of 1 - 10. I've even had a nurse who has said that some doctors are arogant and some you wonder how they can be a doctor. Dr. Night has a great bedside manner, is very competent, and is an all around great guy!

I was referred to Dr. Nigh by Debra Mitchell, owner of the F.L.E.X. behavioral health program. She said that he is the most capable surgeon that she has met. I value her opinion and I trust her because she has helped me with so much. Dr. Nigh is a soft-spoken gentleman and conducts himself in a very professional manner. He is very knowledgable and does not talk down to his patients. Of the people who asked questions in the consultation, he acknowledged that they did their research on the subject, and didn't treat them like they didn't know anything at all about it. I really appreciated that a lot. He covered all the possible complications and risks of surgery, as well as the possible benefits. He was very informative without being a "salesman" for the surgery. His bedside manner is very comforting, and he conveys an aire of confidence and knowledge in his specialty. Best of all, and possibly most importantly, he has an excellent history of successful surgeries. I believe Dr. Nigh is an awesome Doctor!

Had my consult with Dr. Nigh who was running late so the group of us who had consults that day had a chance to get to know one another. With this being my 3rd consult, I was able to see that Winona's program was fairly organized. My only complaint thus far is they seem to have a large amount of individuals waiting for this surgery and a few boo boo's are beginning to crop up. I have not attended any of their monthly meetings. I will however before surgery. All in all I felt he will be an excellant Surgeon to work with...but after 2 previous attempts...time will ultimately tell.

POST OP::: I found Dr Nigh to be a excellant Doctor and his staff was simply the best! I cannot never give them enough praise that they all need and deserve. Jill, is a drill sargeant who knows her stuff and makes you feel so special along with the staff. If I had it to do all over again I would go there in a heartbeat.

8 days post-op, and I am feeling better every day. Dr Nigh was highly recommended to me by a physician friend, but he also added that I couldn't go wrong with any of the Tower group. I found Dr Nigh to be personable and responsive, but first of all an outstanding surgeon.
Based upon published information, it is apparent that the WINLIFE program is more conservative than some others, in that they bring you in hospital earlier and keep you longer. I believe this reflects Dr. Nigh's focus on outcomes more so that throughput. Anyway, I'm quite pleased with him and would recommend him highly.

Dr NIgh is a very quiet well mannered man. Some might think he is very laid back, I felt he was perfect! He came in every morning to check on me, when i went back for my check up, he listened to everything i said and followed up very well. Dr Nigh is also head of a trauma unit and his skills are just impeccable. I would rate him as a true assest to the medical world!
The office he works in is very very busy. But they do really try to accommodate everyone "urgent" needs at all times. Always research your surgeon!

I felt as if he was very professional and soft spoken and very informative about the surgery. Jackie from WINLIFE was very helpful and prompt in her return calls to me. She and the other staff memebers were pleasant to work with and did not show any flaws of being less tolerant of dealing with people of size. I did like the fact that they made sure that you understand that this surgery is a Life TOOL not a miracle to make the weight disappear.

The only thing that was not enjoyable was the amount of time it takes to go through the test, consult and one on one with doctor. It took half a day.

Dr Nigh has moved form "surgeon" status to
"GOD/HERO" status! He is the most compassionate and wonderful docor on the planet! I am so fortunate to have found such a highly skilled and truly wonderful surgeon. Wouldn't trade him for anybody!!!
