My first impression of Dr. Davis was he was very nice and easy to talk to. He never made me feel uncomfortable and his office staff was just as pleasant. Even when i felt discouraged they were there to help me thru. Dr. Davis was very detailed about what to exspect and about what i should do to prevent problems and explained why.

I had been watching Dr. Garth Davis on his show Big Medicine and I liked his personality and bedside manner. When I met him in person at the seminar, I had that same feeling. He was really very personable. I felt confident that I was making the right choice. I originally had planned to do the band. I spoke to him regarding my concerns due to previous surgeries and scar tissue. After our conversations at my consultation and going through the nutrition classes, I changed to the RNY. He never tried to talk me into one or the other. He just told me the facts. My only concern was if he could do my surgery laproscopically because of all my scar tissue. He told me that they are well acquained with scar tissue and he would do his best. My surgery went without a hitch. rnDr. Davis was wonderful. After I went home, I had some problems with gas and constipation. I e-mailed him and he got back with me right away and told me what to do. Anytime I have had any problems (me or my daughter) he always responds quickly to the issue. He is a great surgeon.

Dr. Davis was the nicest and caring person I have met. I came from Orlando, Florida and chose him as my surgeon due to credentials he has. I started telling him about my daughter and he was very open with all ears. The staff there was great. ALMA, ALLISON, JENNIFER, AMANDA and STEPHEN all made me felt that they were here to support me. I would rate this office as a 10+ so far with my experience with them. Even though I am at the beginning of the process so far everything has gone very well.

My aunt first told me about Dr. Davis. She then asked me to check out his show Big Medicine on TLC. I did! Wow!! What a program!! Dr. Garth Davis is easy to talk to and easy to understand. My aunt's experience says that the aftercare is absolutely necessary and the doctor encourages it. I'm excited!!!

My first impression of Dr. Garth Davis was that he was young but seemed competent. My internist wanted me to go to him because of my high risks & Dr. Davis has not lost any patients yet. He is a very skilled surgeon & works very hard to make sure everything goes well. I had to undergo many tests & see many doctors before I could get surgery scheduled so he is thorough. His office staff is also very competent but very busy so sometimes it took a while for them to get back to me, which was frustrating. The surgeon is very busy too & did seem to be in a hurry quite often. Dr. Davis does emphasize aftercare & has a structured aftercare program with the Methodist Hospital right across the street. However, since I live 400 miles from Houston, I can not participate in the aftercare program fully. I would rate Dr. Garth Davis highly. There were complications after surgery but he did everything possible to make sure it turned out well.

Dr. Garth Davis is very laid back and very professional - knowledgeablernI became more impressed with him and his extremely helpful and knowledgeable staff the more I worked with them.rnThere isn't really anything I'm not happy with regarding The Davis Clinic.rnFuture patients should know that this is not a revolving door shop - they take time to evaluate each patient (via interviews with himself, a nutritionist and a psychologist) and make certain you are a candidate and ready for surgery (I was getting a little impatient with the response from the psychology dept.) Aftercare is taken very seriously by him and he is working with the hospital he is affiliated with to promote and ensure the patient follows an aftercare program. He was very up front about the risks, and explained any complications he's faced in the past. I give Dr. Garth Davis and his staff a 10+ and would recommend him to anyone serious about gastric surgery (he performs other procedures than gastric bypass and lap band). He is a great doctor with an awesome bedside manner. (I called him about a question at 9pm on a Saturday night and he called me back in less than three minutes!) He truly cares about helping people.

I loved Dr. Davis! Not only is his office staff very knowledgable, he is a great doctor. You don't get much time with him at your consult, however. Be sure to discuss everything and be prepared for that visit - it doesn't last more that 10 minutes. rnrnI feel like I recovered so much quicker than the other patients on the floor in the hospital. I was up walking the same night as my sugery with little pain.rnrnHe is so focused on after-care. This is was really impresses me. I received a TON of information about my life after surgery.rnrnAlso, it's not as difficult to get an appointment as you might expect. It's worth the 4 week wait...

When I first met Dr. Garth Davis, I thought he seemed nice enough, extremely knowledgable and very informative. The first time I meet him, he was a speaker at a seminar on weight loss. He really knew what he was talking about. Then I made an appointment and met him at his office. We actaully met in his personal office, which was nice. Better than the exam room. He talked to me about my choices, showed exactly what would happen with each procedure using little models of our insides and then recommended the RNY for me after discussion. I originally went in for the lap band. I'm so glad he took the time to discuss everything with me and that he recommended the RNY. rnrnLater, I found out that he was \"a TV doctor\" on Big Medicine. LOL ... and that he had many fans. Yes he was the \"hot\" one. I really didn't realize I was in the same room as a TV star. He was very professional and genuiune. rnrnHis office staff were great. I really like his PA. She is very attentive and caring. rnrnThere is only one thing I didn't like about him. His popularity and the long wait for my turn on the surgery schedule. I wouldn't have it any other way tho. I felt good knowing my surgeon had done this procedure soooooo many times, he could probably do it blindfolded. rnrnNot only does he emphasize aftercare, he manages the Weight Management Program at Methodist Hospital. So you can't get any better than that. rnrnI give Dr. Garth a 9. If there wasn't a 3 month wait it would have been a 10!
