After doing countless research on where to actually get my surgery done, I finally found Dr. Alvarez. Let me tell you it was the best decision of my life. All the staff there treat you like family. The facility was top notch, everything was so clean. Any questions I had were answered, rest assured they will take care of you with anything you have. I am now 5 months post op, and I am down about 70 pounds and I feel amazing. I have gotten used to the new diet changes and doing steady excercise have definitely helped. I am filed with much more energy and no longer get tired easily. Definitely the best decision I have made with Dr. A. Grading everything I would give it 10/10! Thanks so much!

Doc I can’t thank you enough. I started on February 28, 2023 weighing 317 pounds. My surgery was May 18, 2023 and I now weigh 190 pounds. On 25 pounds from my goal if you are looking for the right guy to take care of you, Its Doc Alvarez. He and his staff are totally amazing. I’ve talked to other people that didn’t use Doc Alvarez and they said they got no after surgery care and were rushed out the door. Doc doesn’t work that way at all. Full after surgery care with his staff at your side the whole time. What a great experience and I have no clue why I didn’t do this earlier. Amazing doctor and amazing staff with amazing results!

Dr A and his staff treated me like family. Their compassion, attentiveness and kindness made me feel so comfortable and well taken care of. They took the time to answer all my questions and ensured I felt safe every step of the way. Dr A was visible and personally checked on me throughout my stay. It didn’t feel like a hospital but as close to home as it could feel.

From the moment I found Dr. Alvarez, (aka Dr. A.) on YouTube I felt confident that he was the surgeon for me and the VSG surgery was the right procedure. I have battled obesity since having my first child. Each pregnancy added more weight and like most people struggling with weight, I tried every diet out there. Dr.A’s videos described the procedure in great detail and covered so many before and after questions. I decided at this point it was time to move forward. As soon as I reached out to Brandi I felt supported and important. I was able to choose a surgery date that worked best for me. Any question I had was met with prompt answers and kindness. I felt safe traveling across the border with the Endobariatric driver, and had no issues whatsoever getting to the hospital. As we arrived the day before surgery the staff immediately greeted us with kindness. The hospital is very clean and beautiful, exactly as Dr.A shows in his videos. The whole process was smooth and seamless. The medical staff were very attentive and caring. I’m so thankful to Dr. A and his whole team for their outstanding care!

I’m now 7 months post op and everything is going great. I’m steadily losing weight and have no complaints and never had any complications. Choosing to have this surgery with Dr. A was the best decision!

I did lots of research when looking for a provider to do my gastric sleeve. Dr. Guillermo Alvarez with Endobariatric is who I chose and I couldn’t be happier. Everyone I came into contact with was friendly and professional, from the drivers, to the nurses, and of course Dr. Alvarez. Everyone immediately makes you feel comfortable and like family. Once I flew into San Antonio, everything was covered. Transportation to and from the hospital, the labs and tests, overnight stays, medications, the procedure, and more things that I can’t begin to list.

I was given ample information on the procedure, how to prepare, and sent follow up emails which told about the different foods that I could transition to. My favorite part was the picture of the portion of my stomach that was removed. Not many doctors send this so it was really cool to see. Dr. Alvarez also offered the mini sleeve which is the same procedure but uses smaller instruments for smaller scars. I elected to do this one and have no regrets. You can find cheaper surgeons, but you can’t find better. Dr. A has a true passion for VSG and it shows in his work and attitude.

I am doing great! I have not regretted doing this even for one minute. I’ve struggled with my weight all my life considering that I’m only 5 foot tall. And to find out how large my stomach was explains it all. The first week on clear liquids at eating out was difficult, but as soon as I got on full liquids I was very satisfied. I have already lost 31lbs and I’m well on my way to being the slim person I’ve struggled to be since I had my 3rd child in 1990! I’ve gone from 178 to 147 approximately. My whole attitude has changed. I realize that I have been mutedly depressed for a long time. I had stopped caring about my looks, what I wear and basically stopped trying all the while still trying to eat healthy. I basically was already on the high protein low carb diet, but it was the amount I was eating that prevented me from ever losing and keeping it off. Long story short, I’m a happy person again and Dr Alverez has changed my life.

I also referred my son because he’s short as well and has been just like me, depressed and health starting to fail. He’s just like me personality-wise, but he’s just in his early 30’s. This will help his confidence and turn his health around. I’m so happy he’s decided to do it and I’ll be the one paying for it. I’m that convinced that this is the best thing for him to do. I have a daughter as well that once my so. has it done, I will ask her if she would like to do it as well. I’ll be glad to pay for her also. I worry about her eating habits, which is high carb and diabetes runs in the family. I’ll send some after pictures once I hit my 120 lb goal. Dr. Alvarez is a great Bariatric surgeon. I had a great experience with him being my Bariatric surgeon. Dr. A. and all his staff are all very professional and always treated me great and always available when I needed something. I totally recommend Dr. Alvarez, he is a great and very knowledgeable surgeon that goes above and beyond for his patients I’ve had a wonderful experience with my surgery.

If you were like me, you have probably already read countless reviews and research countless surgeons. To save your time I will say if you are considering a gastric sleeve don’t waste your time researching anymore, you have found your surgeon and facility - Dr. Alverez at Endobariatric.
I had my VSG done by Dr. Alvarez on June 7 of this year and I couldn’t be more happy. All of the pictures you see of the facility are accurate. I have never ever been to a medical clinic or hospital that was as clean and welcoming as Endobariatric.
I also have never received better medical care than I did, while under the care of Dr. Alvarez and his staff. I never had to wait when I needed something either before or after surgery, there was always someone there to take care of me.
As for Dr. Alvarez, he is the rare exception of a surgeon, who is approachable, caring, compassionate, yet extremely extremely skilled at what he does.
After surgery I had no idea how much my life and outlook would improve once the weight came off. I am just three months out from surgery and can’t believe my progress so far. I have had no side effects from the surgery. Anything like acid reflux nothing. Also, my incisions were teeny teeny tiny, much smaller than I was expecting. I suspect once the scars heal, they will hardly be noticeable.
This is a lengthy review, but I just can’t say enough good things about Dr. A. Trust me, if you’re contemplating a gastric sleeve, just book your appointment, you won’t regret it.
