He seemed a little on the arrogant side at first, however I soon realized that he was just very confident about his ability to help people with a near perfect track record. His nurse and front office employee is Jill and she is just wonderful. She's full of knowledge about insurance and the procedure. Thr worst thing about his program is that he insists that you lose 10%-12% of your body weight before you can have the surgery and he helps you with this by placing you on an 800 calorie per day diet. I go on Tuesday 1/23 for my appointment to sign consent and receive all of the last information that I need and to reinforce that which I do have. My surgery is scheduled for 1/31/01. I have been told that the aftercare program lasts for at least 1 year. I am very fortunate to belong to an insurance policy that is going to pay 100% of the cost of the surgery.

After having the surgery and seeing just how much he cares about me, I think he is just the best and wouldn't want to have gone to anyone else.

I went to Dr Yasrebi after a trip to Universal Studios. I had been overweight as a child and my weight had never seemed to bother me; however, at the age of 48, I decided I would not be controlled by my weight any longer. I did not want to become prematurely handicapped because of problems which would increase as I aged and my weight remained a "problem". My first impression of Dr Y was skeptical; however, I was determined to have the surgery. When he first told me I would have to lose weight to have a weight loss surgery, I did not understand; however, when he explained the reasons for the weight loss, I decided I could deal with a short term obstacle to overcome a lifetime problem. Dr Yasrebi does an outstanding job of explaining the surgery, including the benefits and risks. He also talks with your family, because your family support can greatly reduce the risks involved and can mean the difference in the success you achieve after having the surgery. Dr Yasrebi and his staff, Jill as well as his wife are understanding and go beyond the call of duty. I don't know of any time Dr Y was not accessible to me or my family. The only time I ever had anything negative to say about him was when he made me do the "breathy thing" after surgery. Thank you Dr Y for giving me my life back.

Dr. Yasrebi was GREAT! I don't think I've ever met a doctor that cared more for a patient. He always treated me like I was his only patient. For the first 5 nights after the surgery, he called me at home to check on me and make sure I was following his instructions. The office staff is also just a GREAT. Jill is patient, very knowledgeable, and really made me feel like I wasn't bothering her a bit when I would call every other day after the surgery asking if a certain thing I was experiencing was okay.

I can't think of one thing about Dr. Yasrebi or his staff that I didn't like or found the slightest bit disconcerning. Future patients should know that Dr. Yasrebi is strict. You WILL do what he says regarding the pre-surgery weight loss and exercise, or he won't do the surgery. But with this kind of care, I felt very comfortable about his ability.

After-care was spelled out very well. But what impressed me the most was the before care. Dr. Yasrebi prepares the patient before surgery so well, that recovery is quicker than most places and it is performed as an outpatient/23 hour stay. I only spent 1 night in the hospital. BEFORE SURGERY, I had been educated, quizzed, made to walk, lose 10% of my body weight, and mentally so well prepared, that post-op went very well.

The risks of Surgery were explained in detail from the very first visit. However, Dr. Yasrebi educated the patient on how to lower the risks associated with the surgery. I firmly believed that if anything bad should happen to me, it would be because of something I did.

Overall Rating: WONDERFUL, GREAT, AWESOME!!
In regards to which was better, surgical competence and bedside manner....both were awesome. I have absolutely NO COMPLAINTS!!!

Very knowledgable and up front about what is expected of the surgery and of me. He seemed very committed to his job and his patients.

My impression did not change, it proved me right.

His staff is "THE BEST!"

NOTHING!

He's the best and he makes you feel like you are his only patient and his only concern. He doesn't just perform surgery and leave you hanging. He calls you at home, even if he's out of town and he gives you his home number, as well.

he lets you know how very important aftercare is and it is not to be taken lightly.

Very structured aftercare.

He conferenced with his patients and also quizes you to make sure you understand completely.

His rating is off the charts! He's the total Best there is.

I think both are important, however if I had to rank them, of course competency would be #1. I also would not like an unsympathetic Dr. or someone who makes you feel like "the surgery is done, therefore my ties with you are done."

I had my first appointment with Dr. Yasrebi
on Nov.8, But I had already met him because of going to his support meetings, that he has once a month. He is a very caring doctor and has an excellent success record. But he really gets you ready for surgery. He has been doing this surgery for about 20yrs and has never lost a patient.( a Plus in my book )And his nurse Jill is very nice and makes you feel like she is glad to help in any way and knows her paper work. So far from what I know about him, you couldn't ask for a better Doctor for this surgery. Dr. Yasrebi is very straight forward about this surgery and what he wants you to do, he is comitted to giving you the best care and getting you healthy again.

I havent met the Dr. yet. I will be going to his informational support group meeting on June 6th after which I can schedule a consultation appt. I have however heard many wonderful things about him.

6-7-00
met Dr. Y last night at the support group meeting. He seemed sincerely dedicated to his patients. He made me feel very confident in him.

Dr Y is the best, he is very concerned about his patients, not just their health but all aspects of our lives. He definately treats the whole patient. He also insists that his patients be as dedicated to his program as he is. Due to his way of doing things I was up and raring to go just 7 days after surgery.

Had my actual appointment with Dr. Yas. He is just wonderful. Went to the 2nd support group meeting. My insurance approved in only 2 days. This Dr. really knows how to get things done. I have to lose 60 pounds before surgery. It is May 11th and I am about half way there. If you are one of the lucky ones to have Dr. Yas as your surgeon you are very very fortunate. He is just perfect!!

Dr. Yasrebi is the best and although many do not agree with his ways he is the top surgeon for this surgery. His record is perfect.

I was very impressed with Dr, Yasrebi...and still am. He has been wonderful in my care and treatment of obesity and I would not trade him for anyone else, the level of care I recvd is well beyond what we have come to expect as the norm these days. He treatmented me as if I were his only patient even though I know that he is booked solid and that he treats them the same...he is wonderful. His Staff has been vry knowledgable and helpful whenever I Have needed them.
Future patients need to know that he is very much a perfectionist....which in this case is a very good thing to be, he is very adament about what he expects of his patients and if you do not follow his guides, he will not do the surgery but refer you elsewhere, he is excellent but this is why, its his way or the highway....over all both surgical competence and bedside manner is wonderful, and from 1 to 10, he is a 20...

Dr. Yasrebi has the best sense of humor of any doctor I have ever met. I really feel comfortable with my health in his hands. His office staff is excellent. Jill Dr. Yasrebi's Nurse is wonderful and very helpful. She knows her insurance stuff. And so does Dr. Yasrebi because in his meetings he lets you know exactly what is expected of you. He is very strict and has had no complications with his surgeries. I highly recommend Dr. Yasrebi.
