Hosein Yasrebi Bariatric Surgeon M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr.Yasrebi is one of THE BEST IN THE BIZ!!! His Pre Op regimen gets you in shape for surgery and makes you feel so good going in to all of this. He is strict about your knowledge of the procedures and risks. He is the most wonderful doctor I have ever met. He truly cares for his patients!!!! On a scale of 1 to 10......I rate him at 100!!!!

I just met with Dr. Yasrebi for the first time today at my consultation, but I love him already. He has a wonderful sense of humor & has your best interest at heart in everything he does. His nurse Jill is about as compassionate as they come. From what I have seen so far, I think I have made the right choice!! Post-Op** Okay, It's official- Dr. Yasrebi is the best surgeon in the world!! He has a wonderful bedside manner & truly cares about the patient! As for the nurses Jill & Linda- I think they need to have Sainthood bestowed upon them. The three of them are just wonderful, they give 200% & everything they do is centered around the well being of the patient! I have no complaints & would go thru it twenty times over with this group!!

Very tough task-master. Demands commitment. Extends himself, avails himself to patients, dedicates an amazing amount of personal time one-on-one. His staff, primarily his receptionist/assistant, Jill, is an angel. God definitely has her in the right place! Even his wife is part of the team...very encouraging.
A wonderful support system for pre-op - monthly at the hospital. Primary focus is educating about procedure, including risks, sharing information about insurance processes, and post-op patients sharing experiences.
Aftercare support program non-existent, except for post follow-up office visits.
I found Dr. Yasrabi superb in manner, skill, communication, manner and level of caring and care. I would recommend to anyone considering this surgery, but be prepared to be committed. He demands dedication to pre-operative preparation, including some weight loss prior to undergoing operation, journaling, breathing exercises, etc. I've seen him turn patients away and refer elsewhere if they were not dedicated.

MY FIRST IMPRESSION OF MY DR, WAS THAT HE WAS REALLY NICE BUT STILL HAD A STERNESS TO HIM. HE DOES NOT PLAY ABOUT THE PRE OP DIET. HE WILL TELL YOU REALLY QUICK THAT IF YOU GAIN A POUND OR DONT LOOSE , YOU ARE OUT. BUT I KNOW THAT IS FOR MY BEST INTREST. HE HAS NEVER LOST ANYONE , AND I AM VERY THANKFULL FOR THAT. HE HAS NOW STOPPED ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS UNTILL AFTER THE BEGINNING OF 2002. HIS NURSE JILL MAKES YOU FEEL LIKE YOU ARE HER PRIORITY, EVEN THOUGH SHE HAS LIKE 10 MILLION OTHER THINGS SHE HAS TO DO, SHE WILL ALWAYS STOP TO ANSER YOUR QUESTIONS, NO MATTER HOW STUPID YOU THINK THEY MAY BE . OVER ALL I RATE HIM AND HIS STAFF A PERFECT 10.

My first impression of Dr. Yasrebi was that he has a sense of humor, and he is a very caring doctor. He is strict about what he wants you to do, but has very good reasons.
And that lets you know what a good doctor he is. Also his office staff is excellant. He has 20yrs exp. and has never lost patient and that is deffently a plus in my book.He
explains what to exspect from the start to the end and you soon realize that he has your best interest at heart. OK i know that there is no person on the face of this earth that is perfect but by joe i think i have met one of the greatest doctors ever, tell you why. My wife and I are both having this surgery and well she had hers april 22,2001. you know how a doctor does surgery and then comes and tells you how it went and then leaves well that did happen but what you dont know is that Dr. Y did come out and not only tell me that everything went well, but he also told me that she was awake and asking about me (as embarresing as it is my wife knew i was more scared than she was, i could not stand to be without my wife and i am not ashamed to let her know it either) i wondered how she was awake already so I ask her when they put her in her room how she woke up so fast and with out being in recovery and she said that she had been in recovery and then we found out why he knew she was awake. He did not leave her after the surgery he got him a news paper and sat right by her in recovery untill she woke up and knew everything was ok then talked to her and then came and told me, he not only told me and left he sat down and met our paster and a very good freind that was there and ask how I was doing he sat and talked about 10 minutes he even told me her room number and how long before she would be there he thanked our pastor and freind for coming up to be with me and the support they gave. ok you impressed yet? hope not yes theres more. Everything went very well with the surgery and untill that night and all of a sudden my wife started running a fevor Dr. Y did not just give the nurses orders of what to do he came back to the hospital that night after he had done been there he came in and stayed about an hour and walked with us and explained everything to us that he did not know what was wrong but that he was sure that it was not a problem with the sugery and even told us how he knew it said that her palse would go to 120 and her breathing would drop to 1500 and she was twice that on breathing and only about 90 on pulse which was nothing to worry about so he did not know if she was having a reaction to being put to sleep or just the trama to her body or the fiber mialga she has or a combo of all of it but he would fix it promised he gave me his home phone number and said if anything went wrong or I needed him call him even in the middle of the night and he meant it. He called at 2 am and again at 4 am and was there at the hospital at 730 am and stayed about an hour most of the time which he was just talking to us and not just medical he was telling us about his family (which we had met his wife very super nice lady) he ordered blood tests and anti-biatics and more iv's he called us in our room about an hour later to make sure that they had done what he told them too and to make sure we were doing ok. He came back to the hospital from 11:30 to 1:00 and stayed with us and then came back at 4:30 and stayed awhile and then came back at 8:15 that night and he appoligized to us because he wanted to be there at 7:30 but said he was going to take a short nap and over slept (now how many times is that going to happen?for and doctor to say sorry or even tell you why he was late made me and my wife feel pretty durn good that he thought enough of us to even think that we deserved an explanation.)Impressed yet? Don't answer, hate for you to be wrong, yes yes theres more the next morning first thing he called us in our room again just to check on us and said that the nurse had just told him the temp was coming down but he wanted to know if we were alright. The next morning being saturaday he told us he would be back at the hospital around 10:30 or 11 and if everything was good then she could go home ok here it comes he called at 11:05 and said that he was sorry that his wife had gotten sick and he needed to got to the drug store and get her something but he was 2 blocks from the hospital and was on his way he showed up about 5 minutes later and again said sorry he checked my wife over and said that he was happy that everything was back to normal and that she could go home and that he would call the next day and if she needed a stronger pain shot then he would meet us at his office and give it to her he explained everything to us and showed us how to give feedings and medicain in to the tube and then had the nurse to explain everything to us to make sure he did not forget anything even told us that my wife was the first one in 3 years that has had to stay in the hospital more than one night he appologized to us for that because we had to pay another $300 co-pay but he wanted to be save and not sorry we agreed he called last night to check on her and then this morning and said he would call this afternoon to check also. when he called last night he talked to me on the phone and thanked me for staying up there with my wife and doing all the walking with her and keeping track of everything said his experince with men is 24 hrs they are gone told my wife he knew i was tired and hoped we both got some rest but walk every two hours (told you he had asence of humor). Now this is only my oppinion of Dr. Y and yes I know that there is no perfect person on this earth but my personal oppinion is he is the greatest doctor that i have ever met or heard of hope you have just a great experiance with him or your own doctor my wife is doing good sore but good and I must go its time for her to walk again so send your prayers to her and god bless all of you from us, god bless -her email is [email protected] again god bless bye buddy (my email is [email protected])

Dr. Yasrebi is a great guy with a warped sense of humor at times, but very amusing. He's very concerned about your health going into surgery and he requires you to start walking daily, using the breathing thingy, and taking vitamins. He's very strict and requires a 10-15% weight loss before he'll perform surgery. (I have to drop 15%) You can find surgeons that don't require weight loss but I really like the fact that he wants me healthy going in and understand his reasons. He has a great record and after doing the research on him and his patients I have decided to stick it out and work on getting the weight off.
Dr. Yasrebi was even better than I expected when it came time for surgery. He started calling me nightly to check up on me 2 nights before surgery and for a full week after surgery. He came to my room and walked my first walk around the floor with me and spent quite a bit of time in my room talking to me & my sister, checking my equipment (the nurses had told me he would double check everything they do. I'm sure that's annoying to the nurses, but comforting to a patient.) I had alot of confidence going into surgery with him but came out on the other side with the utmost confidence. He's a wonderful doctor, remembers everything about me from visit to visit and is very compassionate.
I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Yasrebi!

My first impresssion of Dr. Yaz was favorable. I had other's tell me he was a wonderful physician but I had no idea what I would soon discover. I have found him to be the most caring and considerate physician in my entire history. He actually called me from the operating room of another patient to make sure I was doing well. He spend tireless hours discussing and explaining this surgery to me before and also after the surgery. I am now two years post-op and I still see him every three months! He emphasized strengent preparation prior to the surgery and he followed up tirelessly. He explained the risks of surgery to me and further explained that he uses extra precautions during and following surgery. His standards exceed what the hospitals require. He has competed in excess of 600 of these surgeries and this is his entire practice. I would rate him as excellent since that is the highest mark I know. His surgical competence is only exceeded by his bedside manner.Sorry I don't have anything negative to say, but there was nothing negative to address.
A Plus, Plus for Dr. Yasrebi

Dr Yasrebi is wonderful. Yes, he is strict, but thank God for him. He makes you loss 10% of the weight first, but you have a smaller insetion and recover quickly because you have been excercising and you are already ajusted, being that after sugery you can only eat about 5oz. Anyway I would recommend this surgery to anyone, but I only recomment Dr. Yasrebi He cares, he calls to check on your progress, he comes back to the hospital to walk you, he gives you his home phone number so you can call anytime if there are problems! He is so wonderful THE BEST!!!I love Dr. Yasrebi!!!And Jill, his Office Manager, She is sweet and caring and patient! Linda Too! And Mrs. Yasrebi! Dr. Yasrebi educates you, he prepares you and he encourages you! i can't say enough, Really! I am impress and I am thankful! By the way, he has 25years experience, someone said he has 20 years it's 25 with no loses! I give Dr.Yasrebi a 10, an A+, a 100%! Humor, wonderful bedside manner,Thank God for Dr.Yasrebi, not just the surgery but the surgen was wonderful I'd do it again in a New York minute!I had my surgery August 21,2000 I have lost 120lbs and I am a new woman!I went in on a Monday and was back to work on that very Saturday!!!

At first I thought he was really nice.As I started to see him on a bi-weeklt basis- the friendliness changed to a stearn hard person. He requires you to loose 10% of your body weight before he will do the surgery. He will stay on you, you have a certain time frame to loose the weight. If you dont loose one week or gain another- he wont do it. End of story, his stearness really paid off though. I became very cautious of everything I ate (i still am) If you go out to dinner 1 time- he will know- there is no lying to him. He is very serious in his work. I dont mind seeing him now because the hard part is over. The surgery went well, I was sore afterwards. I went home the next day. He makes you use a breathing machine and you are required to breath to a certain level before you are discharged. He came and checked on me 4 times while I was in the hospital. Afterwards, he called every evening to check on your progress. He was very concerend with everything. I dont see how he can maintain a personal life. I give him a 10. Even thought he can be harsh- he knows his stuff. He doesnt slack off one bit. He made me go back to work 3 weeks after my surgery. I was hoping for a longer vacation.
