James Colberg Bariatric Surgeon M.D., F.A.C.S.

My surgeon is a very kind, knowledgable and detailed man. He explained the procedure,but keep in mind that we are all different, in detail. Took the time to explain any and all questions that I had. But remember this is your body! Do lots of research. Talk to many people and a few more. MD gave me a list of post-ops from his office and encouraged me to contact them. He not only went into the physical aspect of the surgery but the psychological too. His bedside mannner is wonderful. At first, not sure if I liked this man. Then looking into his background, experience and reviewing our conversation. I realized a great respect for him. Have been back for post-op appointments and Dr. Colberg is thorough in the diet. Gives paperwork describing the diet with recommendations. Overall would give the Doc an A+. My hospital experience was not an A+ and recovery was very difficult. Will explain in more detail further down.

Dr. Colberg is a wonderful doctor. I'm very glad that he was recommended to me by some friends. He was very willing to listen to anything and everything I had to say about myself, my health, my concerns...anything...
He was very informative when I had any questions about the surgery, the hospital stay, everything.
I highly recommend Dr. James Colberg in Philadelphia.

I had the opportunity to work with Dr. Colberg 18 yrs. ago, he has always been a kind and caring physician, knowledgable, and thorough, along with a good sense of humor, which makes you feel very comfortable. I know that I am in good hands. His office Manager Pat, is very patient and thoughtful, you never seem to catch her on a bad day, all days seem pleasant and you feel comfortable calling her with any questions. She's the right person, for the right doctor.

well i met dr colberg when i went with a friend of mine to her appt. with him. he was such a sweetheart it was unbelievable. he makes you feel so at home and answers your questions thouroughly even if you ask the same question 10 times. i have an appt with him on the 10th of nov. so i will give you more info from a patients point of view then.

My first impression with Dr.Colberg is that he is really concern with you the person.He really takes his time asks every possible question and lets you know if surgery will be the best thing for you.The first appt. is a long one, but I would perfer he take his time and not rush. I did have a good little wait when i first got the but Pat his office manager let me know that it would be a wait, which was fine it give me a chance to talk to her shes a very nice lady and really knows her job.Today was a great day i feel like I'm about to start a new life by the way i got a date for surgery its 10/26/99.

My first impression of Dr. Colberg, was that he really cared about the person and not about just getting the patient to have the surgery, every visit was very enjoyable, his office staff (Pat) is as friendly and out going as the doctor himself, I love going to the office and I never mind the wait, there is always someone to talk to about different things..

I finally met with Dr. Colberg. He was the friendliest doctor I have ever crossed. I was very pleased with how caring he seemed to be. He made me feel very comfortable in my decision. His staff was also very nice and friendly. I am now having pre-op tests done and the surgery will be scheduled soon!! I just can't wait!!

I was very impressed with Dr. Colberg from the very first. He was willing to listen to my desires in the way the surgery was done. He worked with me to choose the best post-op, follow-up program (since I live 4 hrs, one way, from his office).I have lost 262 lbs. so I can say that he did a great job. I have had no problems since the surgery. I have 50lbs yet to loose.
