He came highly recommended to me by friends/colleagues who are very familiar with his work. I found him and Dr. "Rich" Lazzaro to be personable and they made me smile a few times.

I met Dr. Macura a week before the sugery, he was very nice in explaining everything about the surgery to me including all the risks.

The day of the surgery he came over and talked with me to reassure me everything will be okay.

The only thing I wasn't impressed with was post-op he had his team come see me in the hospital and he only came to see me once for 2 minutes.

His office staff has been great, they have been so helpful in getting my surgery approved answering all my questions, etc.

I think Dr. Macura is a very skilled surgeon I just wish he would spend more time with me.

The first time I saw Dr Macura, I felt very comfortable with him and felt confident that he was very qualified. He has the best office staff all of whom are very quick to help should any problems arise. Dr Macura came to see me very early the morning after my surgery to make sure for himself that i was fine. He is awonderful man.

There are no words to express how wonderful Dr.Macura and his staff are. My first impression from him was very warm and caring. He explained the surgery in much detail and insured me that he was going to take great care of me. My impression of him grew greater over time, he was always so helpful.
His staff was also great. They helped me through a rough time. Right before the surgery my father passed away and they were so helpful to help me get everything I needed for the surgery.
There are so many words I would love to say about Dr. Macura and his staff. I had no complications with my surgery but I did have some problems with my lungs and panic attacks. Dr. Macura was always there to help me and check up on me in the hospital. If my mother called him worried he was right to the hospital for me. There is not one thing I can say negative about him. I would rate Dr. Macura 100% with his kindness, and his caring for me. He is a great surgeon and his bedside manner is so wonderful. I would recommend Dr. Macura to everyone. He is the best surgeon!!!!

I didnt meet Dr. Macura until a week before my surgery. He was friendly and nice and was ready to answer any questions I had. The day of surgery Dr. Macura and Dr. Lazzaro were awesome. My surgery went without any complications. I would recommend these doctors to anyone interested in having this surgery. Also, the office staff is awesome. I have called there more times than I would like to admit with serious questions, crazy questions, and they were always ready to help me.

My first impression of Dr. Macura was that he was feeling rushed and had someplace else he wanted to be. We really didn't talk much at all. But that could possibly be because I didn't have my question with me. He seems like a kind person. And I am assuming that he is a compitent surgeon. That's the important thing right?

His office staff seems wonderful. Especially Gertrude!! She spent the last couple of months calling and e-mailing back and forth with me from NY to NM. And when I went in for my first appointment she spent at least an hour or more with me going over all my questions. Also she introduced me to the other surgeon who does the surgery together with Dr. Macura. I was impressed with him. He introduced himself to me and told me, "call me Rich." Wow, pretty down to earth. He answered whatever questions that Gertrude was unsure of. He was very relaxed and gave me a feeling that he had nowhere else to be and that I was his priority at the moment.

The thing I liked the least was my brief meeting with Dr. Macura. But I'm not too worried about it.

I will write more after I've had surgery and had more interaction with the Drs. and the office.

Okay, so now I am a little more than 2 months out from my surgery and I can add more about my surgeon and his office.

I am happy with them. I can pretty much say that I am very happy with them. The only glitch I ran into was when I was scheduled for my first fill (see my post above - dated 4/3/04). I will be moving back to NY and am looking forward to a continued relationship with Dr. Macura's office. All the Drs. that I met were very kind. And the office staff is spectacular. So far I have been very satisfied with the attention and response time anytime I have questions.
I think I would feel comfortble referring others who are interested in surgery to the office.
That said, MAKE SURE you do all your research and ask A LOT of questions no matter who you choose as your surgeon. And make sure that his support (nurses, PAs, office staff) are approachable and personable. This is also important.
