I felt that Dr. Patti was very nice. I am greatful that he will be doing my surgery on Sept 10, 2003. He was full of information and made sure that I felt that this was the right step for me to take. His staff is busy the office is packed with patients.

I feel that competence and a great bedside mannor make him the best choice.

Today I was approved by TRICARE and I want to thank Carol with Dr. Patti's office for all her help and kindness you are the reason I am on my way to the losing side. Now post op... Anyone who goes to UCSF and Dr. Marco Patti will be extremely pleased I am now 2.5 weeks post op and feel fantastic...

I am going to UCSF Medical Center. I am seeing Dr. Ostroff and my surgeon is Dr. Patti. I feel very confident in them. They are very to the point and want to make sure that this is the change in life that you want.

Their office staff is very helpful and curtious. I am able to email their cordinator which makes things so much easier.

At this point and time, I cannot say anything bad about them. I do have one question though. I was told that I need to "get rid of my fat friends" "Fat friends do not make you skinny". My question is...what do I do with my mom and my sister?

My surgery was covered 100% under Medical.

I have not had my surgery consult with Dr. Patti yet, although I have met him several times at support group. I appreicate that he takes time out of his busy schedule to come and meet with patients at the support group meeting. The local medical community speaks very highly of Dr. Patti. All of this has greatly helped me deal with my fear of surgery.

Dr. Patti is wonderful. He is a compassionate carrying surgeon who takes an interest in his patients. His staff are all wonderful and his administrative staff always had time for questions. He is very concerned about after care and insists that you follow up with group support groups. All things considered, he save my life and I would gladly put my life in his hands any time or any place. Because of a severly enlarged liver, I wasn't able to have a scope done, and Dr. Patti had to make a large incision. If I had to do it all over again, I'd be there!!!!

Dr. Patti has both a great bedside manner and surgical competence. He's cute too!!!!

The only negative in this whole process was the wait in the waiting room. Sometimes, I would wait one to two hours to see Dr. Patti.

I've only just met Dr. Patti for the first time during my consult on 1/14. I felt very comfortable with him. The staff is very busy but seemed competent. There are a lot of interns but that didn't bother me. Only thing that struck me as odd is he didn't go very in depth with after care, maybe he will at another time. One thing that I liked is that he said if I had any questions Not to keep them to myself but to call him. That put me at ease and I felt I had access to him. .

Marco Patti is a great person. He gives a good first impression. He is a very caring individual. The office staff was friendly and efficient but very busy. I guess that whatI liked least about him is that our visits are so short but isn't it that way with all doctors. What I love about him is his kindness. Each time we met he would hold my hands in his and remind me of the risk that I was taking. He has my recommendation if someone is determined to have the surgery. If I had it to do over again, I'd choose him. From a 1-10 I give him a 10.

My initial appointment was with Dr. James Ostroff and his nurse practioner Karen (she was fabulous)at UCSF. They were both wonderful and answered all my questions..Leslie did a wonderful job with my referral. I had a list of items to take care of prior to my appointment, which was October 29, 2002 (I waited 7 months for that day). Dr Ostroff determines whether or not someone is a canidate. Some of the requirements for me were to lose 10% or my body weight, abdominal and pelvic ultrasound, mental evaluation (to be sure I was competent to make a life changing decisions), blood work, cardiac clearance. During my appointment I was told that because I had followed through with all the requirements I would now get an appointment with the surgeon. I was given an appointment for January 31,2003 with Dr. Marco Patti. I was a bit disappointed when seeing him that he did not spend more time with me. He seemed a bit rushed and not very personable. I have confidence that he is a fantastic doctor just a bit rushed (Which of course made me a bit nervous at the actual appointment) The rest of the staff were extremely nice but very very busy. I am now scheduled for a preop appointment March 27 th. and my surgery March 31st. I am hoping to spend a little more time with Dr. Patti. I will have a list of questions in hand.

I have not met Dr. Patti yet. I have a consultation on May 22, 2003 and will be meeting with Dr. Ostroff at that time. I also signed up for a voluntary genetic test through UCSF and will be undergoing some tests in the morning and see Dr. Ostroff later that day.

I have changed my mind about Dr. Patti. He has not been honest with me about what happened in the OR. I got an infection and was put back into the hospital. My new Dr. could not get Dr. Patti to call back. It has taken me 3 weeks to get intouch with someone from his office. I still have yet to speck to him!!! I guess he is to busy to care.
