Dr. King is a very professional doctor. He knows what he is doing. The office staff is very nice and knowledgeable. If you are a smoker, beward of the doom of Dr. King. Very attimate that you do not smoke before or after the surgury. You need to have quit before seeing him. He is known as THE BEST in this area or of the state. You are told what to eat and drink from the day of the surgury and after. You are gradually brought in to the different foods. What you will be able to eat and what you will probably not ever be able to eat again. Dr. King will answer all your questions and will never put you on hold. His nurse knows nearly as much as he does. His aftercare problem is among the best. You are told of risks before anything happens. When you go into the surgury there will be no questions unanswered. Dr. King and his staff would be rated a high 10 and beyond. You really couldn't get anyone any better.

My first impression of Dr. King was that he seems to know what he is talking about. He seems generally concerned with his patients well being. He is not overly friendly, but makes you feel welcome in his care. He tells you everything that you need to know and somethings that you probably thought you didn't need to know. All of his office staff has been very helpful to me in every aspect of this journey thus far.

My brother had already had the surgery so he had told me all about Dr, King. I couldnt believe he was so nice. He was very courteous, he didnt rush at all. He took the time to explain every detail and every risk. He went over each of my health issues and the risk. His staff was very nice and made me feel really comfortable. I read on this site by others that they had a lengthly wait to see him in his office. I didnt wait long at all. He and his staff took extra time and didnt make me wait hardly at all. He really got me about smoking, and I can say after leaving his office I smoked my last cigarette that night. Im scheduled to go back after my endoscopy and appointments with my cardiologist and pulmonologist. I very excited and scared and anxious about the upcoming events.

Dr. King is very nice. He holds no punches from you and tells you exactly how it is. He gives you the pros and cons of the situation. He was very professional. He is very strict about sticking to his after care programs and instructions. I would highly recommend him to others that are contemplating this surgery.

Dr. King is well known for his bedside manner, and he exceeds his reputation. He was very clear and concise as possible but also offered any additional information. It's nice to find a doctor who takes such critical measures to maintain a strict aftercare as well as pre-operative care.

My impression has changed over time. As soon as I had complications, my surgeon treated me like an idiot. He practically scolded me for ruining his stellar reputation.

My impression has changed AGAIN - now that everything's going smoothly, he's treating me better (still preaching that I have God to thank for not dying.

Highly professional, insists on patients being well informed of both risks and benefits.
Office staff was professional and courteous.
His office is 2 hours away from me. Also no support group in my immediate area.
Aftercare is emphasized as essential and I was informed that this will be a lifetime commentment to follow through with check-ups.
Surgery risks were addressed with reading material, diagrams and through frank discussions with the physician.
It was my impression that Dr. King is an excellent surgeon who has genuine concern about the long term health of his patients.
Well it's great to have both, but I'll take competence over bedside manner any day. I don't mean to imply that Dr. King is anything but courteous, but he is busy surgeon. He spent the amount of time I needed at each visit and gave me plenty of opportunity to ask questions or address any concerns.

My first impression of Dr. King. He was very porfessional, but friendly at the same time. The staff was easy to talk to, (down to earth) Dr. King made sure I was informed of all the risk of the surgery. That was the scariest of the whole experience. My surgery went great. I had a breathing problem a day after surgery. Dr. King and his nurse was right there. He was very concerned and sweet (great bed side manner) His after care program is a very strict one. I rate him overall a 10.

I had the most wonderful experience from the start. Dr. King and his staff and the staff at BMH-North Mississippi were all so wonderful. My husband and I could not have been more pleased. I can't tell you one bad thing. Dr. King is the most cautios, prepared and patient doctor I have ever had any dealings with. His bedside manner and surgical competence are both A+. I would highly, highly, highly recommend him and in fact already am to family members and friends. I know I am going on and on about how wonderful all this was, but it truly is the truth. I don't know all about the aftercare program yet because I am only 10 days post op and have my first follow up in four days but I know I will be getting regular checkups by Dr. King.

My first impression of Dr. King was that he is a very down to business doc. He is very anti-smoking and all he seemed concerned with was that I had been a smoker. I stressed to him that I was not a heavy smoker, only about 5 a day, but that did not matter to him. He insisted that I have the vena cava filter because of the risk of blood clots. He is a very kind man, who cares very deeply for the well being of his patients. The office staff is very friendy and nice. The office manager was very persistant about my insurance deductible eventhough I told her it had been met and my insurance pays 100%. I know they have to make sure that they get their money. Dr. King stresses that you come back every 6 months indefinately. He is very upfront with the risk of the surgey. One your second visit he ask you to tell him the worst thing that could happen to you and you must admit DEATH. Overall I will rate him an excellant doctor.
