Dr. Iqbal is the BEST! He is compassionate, kind and funny. He is also honest and if you are not honest with yourself, he will tell you! But that is notto be mean, it is to cut the bulls**t.

Dr Iqbal was super nice to me when I first met him and didn't make me feel like he was doing me a favor. He told me right away that we were partners in this journey of WLS. rnWhen I had the initial appt, I got super lost and was freaking out, so much so that I forgot to tap the ATM. The nurse let me slide til after the appt and I ran down the street to get $$$. That was cool of them to do that for me. rnBut anyway, Dr. Iqbal has always taken the time to answer my questions, no matter how mundane. He let me know all the pros and cons of this surgery and that it was a permanent procedure that required dilligence. Not to dissuade me, but to make me aware of the seriousness of the surgery. He is very direct with you about what you need to do pre-op and post-op to acheive maximum result, it almost seems a little rude at first. But in hindsight, it was to prepare you for the reality of the surgery, and he was never mean about it, just very blunt.rnI had been to other hospital bariatric programs, during my pre-WLS research, and got the distinct impression that it was like \"factory work.\" Almost impersonal, like we were on a conveyor belt. No personal touch. Maybe that works for some, but I need a hand to hold and to see a smile, along with a skilled scalpel, and Dr. Iqbal provides all of that in abundance.

Love my surgeon! Very skilled. He knows exactly what he is doing and is well respected. While no one likes having surgery, I felt very relaxed knowing that he was in control. Has a great bedside manner, is down to earth, tells it like it is. He will do his part in helping you to achieve your weight loss but you have to do your part as well. I had the lap-band and lost some weight but not as much as I would like though I look & feel much better and my glucose levels are normal whereas I was borderline diabetic before. I'm now considering the sleeve to see if perhaps that is a better choice for me since I have other ambulatory physical problems that prevent me from working out like I should, which I am sure has affected my limited weight-loss with the lap-band procedure. Would I do it again though? Yes! And, if I decide to have the sleeve done, Dr. Nauveed Iqbal will be my surgeon!

The office was helpful getting all the paperwork through the insurance hoops. The doc was kinda arrogant but had his charms. When I asked about the "band over bypass" option he practically asked me to leave and go see another surgeon adding that the other surgeon is only doing band over bypass to make money and that it doesn't work.

Thought I did my homework for a RNY revision. What I didn't know was the Dr. Iqbal was leaving on vacation the day of my surgery. The surgeon never told me nor did the office, that he would be gone. I was left hanging in the SJ Healthcare Hospital. The beds in the hospital are very thin and very uncomfortable. Thankfully the nurses were well trained.

It wasn't till a few days after I came home that I realized a leakage test was never done of my bypass. Shameful. Once my surgery was healing I saw the results of the small incision. He couldn't do the hiatal hernia repair and revision lapro. Fine, but half the long scar was thin, like a scapel and the rest looked torn open sloppy style.

I sill suffer from hiatal hernia symptoms and didn't lose much more than ten pounds. Can't recommend Dr. Iqbal.

I was very happy with Dr Iqbal from my very first meeting with him. He has been extremely thorough in providing me with all the information regarding my surgery. The office staff is very friendly and willing to answer any questions I had for them. I would definitely recommend my surgeon to someone looking for a bariatric surgery. He is very personable and caring. He has always been open with me about what to expect, what I should be (and not be) doing; even if it wasnt what I wanted to hear. I supposed the only negative thing I can say is that the wait at his office is usually pretty long, but I think thats because he has so many patients...because he's such a good doctor!

I meet Dr. Iqbal one week ago, looking for a bariatric surgery revision, and as soon he introduce himsel, I though that my journey to my new life begins. This doctor was so profesional, and was taking my case very serious. i got my first bariatric in 2001, gaing my weight back, and my former doctor,Pasupathy, now closing his private office, and excellent surgeon too, send me to Dr. Iqbal for my revision. Im fell lucky, to having Dr. Iqbal as my new surgeon. I just start all my steps for a possible surgery soon.

Dr. Iqbal is an excellent and skilled surgeon, and very handsome!!!! His accent when he speaks is very mild, so it is quite easy to understand him. He answered any/all questions I had and smiles alot. He is energetic and has a positive attitude. rnHis office is small, but he has large comfy chairs in the waiting room, suitable for plus-sized people, and has a heavy-duty digital scale to weigh people. They are in the process of building a brand-new large office, so his current small office is only temporary...rnHis staff for the most part are ok, some are friendlier than others, but my main concern is Dr. Iqbal, and I would highly recommend him to anyone!

I absoutely LOVE my surgeon, he is a wonderful person and has wonderful people skills. He is caring, compassionate, understanding and there when you need him. From the day I encountered him, he was very nice to me and I have no problem referring him to other patients. rnHis office staff is ok for the most part, some things have changed in there now and its cool. rnFuture patients should know that he cares and if there is something you do not understand just ask him and he will explain it to you and if you do no understand his accent he will repeat it for you, the patients all seen to love him.rnHe is relly good about aftercare, he wants to see his patients on a regular basis in the office and at the support meetings. THe support meetings are monthly and now they just started a new one for patients who have been out over 2 years or more and need some reinforcement.rnHe was very honest and straight forward with the risk of surgery and what I should watch for once I went home.rnI rate him at very very very high, I am so glad that I went to him, he had to take off an very old band and help me as it had slipped into my chest and then do the R-eny surgery, he did an awesome job and I am very grateful to him.rnBoth surgical competence and bedside manner are very very important you need both to be successful and to help the patient and the patient's family.
