I met today with Dr. Iqbal for the first time. He is very friendly and easy going, and seems to be very knowledgable about the procedure. He answered all my questions plus a few I didn't think to ask. He says he's done over 1400 operations which is plenty of experience for me! He does emphasize follow up care and has a support group which he insists you attend. I like him a lot!
Now, the office is small and the waiting room is not so hot, especially for big people. They were so busy no one even spoke to me for an hour. But hey, docs' offices get that way.
Overall, I'd say I was very happy with HIM, and he's the important factor.

I saw Dr. Iqbal today to get my surgery date and info on pre-op testing. He's a good guy, easy going, well informed, eager to share info and take questions. Talks a little fast until you slow him down though. ;-) Despite the inevitable office delays, the staff was very helpful and I think I'm quite ready to go into this thing!

This week, Dr. Iqbal inserted my vena cava filter and (against my vehement objections under sedation) did my endoscopy. He is a pleasure to work with, answers every question and addresses every concern.

Just had my final visit with Dr. Iqbal prior to surgery. He's great! Answered every question and always a pleasure to deal with!

My PCP referred me to Dr Iqbal and he was great!!!!!!! The office staff also is excellent, even with how buzzy they are! Its a small office and always crowed but i think that is a good sign, i didn't wait more than 1/2 an hour to be seen but i sometimes go early just because i like hereing peoples different storys! I had to attend a pre surgery meeting it was very informative. Dr Iqbal gives you his full attention once its your turn and he has been right on the money with everything he has said i would experience. He was very accomadating with my date as i work at a school and wanted to be able to have it done while we were on our 6 week break. I have been seeing him about every 3 months since the surgery. He answered all my questions and concerns approprately, i think he was the best Dr for me. Great bed side manner and very humorous, I would recommend Dr. Iqbal to anyone who asks me.

My first impression of Dr. Iqbal was he knows whats hes doing, hes very open about the surgery and he actually listens! My impression hasnt changed one bit and as a matter of fact I grow to be quite fond of him because of the concern he expresses on a one on one basis with his patients. His staff is quite overwhelmed with the workload but they are very kind, greet me with a smile when I have entered his office. There's nothing I can say on a negative level because theres nothing I have saw or heard that was negative. Dr. Iqbal definitely expressed the need for me to take care of myself after this surgery and in a long term basis because I have only one body and it must be treated with the utmost care to maintain my weight loss goal. The Dr. has expressed the risks of the surgery but all surgery has its risks and this is something I must do. Being obese is a risk as well so I choose the latter and be healthy with this surgical risk.I would Dr. Iqbal a 10 plus and I havent even had my surgery yet. I will continue to add on as my date approaches and the date itself, afterwards as well.

i definitely felt at ease with him upon my first office visit, he took his time and answered all my questions... and i had alot... appropriately and to my satisfaction. his office staff was abrupt at times but as i got to know them a little better, that improved. it is difficult to say anything i liked least about him i was truly impressed by his reachability and info he was always ready to provide.. i am a nurse and found it very refreshing , when i asked him about middle of the night problems (which is to my experience, when all things happen.. lol).. he told me he lived 5 minutes from the hospital and he personally responded to hospital problems himself... no, i dont they have a structured aftercare program.. i cant complain though because i have always been able to reach my dietician and the doc when i have had questions.. one example , i needed an mri for my knee at 8 weeks post op and was concerned about internal staples.. his office transferred my call directly into the or where he was performing surgery so he could answer my questions. i would rate him as a 10 and i have worked with alot of surgeons over the years in my professional life.. it has been my experience that it is a rare thing to find a surgeon who genuinely cares and takes time whith his patients...i really respect him for that.

Dr. Iqbal took time on first visit to speak with my husband. I am a Nurse and understood the surgery but husband was apprehensive.
I like his manner with patients and family.
When I had EGD and it showed polyps, he completely explained the options to us.
Because he has done so many surgeries in my area, because I knew him as a surgeon at the hospital 12 years ago, I feel I made the right choice.
