I met with Dr. Aslam for the first time during his support group for the surgery. He was to the point and i got a sense that he was by the book on what we should be eating after the surgery. For me personally, I am glad that his outlook is of that nature. Simply because I am serious about this surgery and I want to be told of the risks. We should not have this surgery to resort back to the same relationship with food we had prior. He was more than willing to accommodate the requests of switching meeting time etc.. and to ask questions after the session was over. I look forward to meeting with him on a more 1x1 basis.

I have since met with Dr. Aslam again, and I went in prepared with a lot of questions and he was happy to answer them. He takes his work very seriously and hopes you do as well. He wants an uneventful surgery so advises strongly to adhere to his instructions.

I have yet to meet with him personally, I attended the most recent group consultation (Feb. 13) and met his nurse Jeannie and others who are looking into the surgery. The consult was very informative.

I had the necessary blood tests that same day at Maine General. Everyone that I came in contact with at the hospital were really friendly and helpful.

Scheduled for GallBladder Ultrasound on March 12th at 9am. They found a large stone. Guess that will come out with the surgery.

Finally finished my psych eval a few weeks ago...I think thats all that there is left for me to do, except wait for approval and/or an appointment.

4/21/03 After many months of delays and appointments I am now scheduled for surgery, on April 25, 2003. Wish me luck! :) This is only the abridged version...lol

I have not yet met my surgeon yet, however his contact person in the office had been helpful with what information I have needed, then it was almost like turning a page, what a difference for the worst. I can't wait to met the Dr himself, I have heard so much about him and what a great surgeon/person he is. 04/03/03 I met with my surgeon today, very pleasant, patient and quiet, answered all of our questions. He will have his nurse schedule the surgery sometime in the next couple of weeks. I almost "freaked out" there in the office.

First of all, I met with Dr. A and found him to be VERY professional..THen after getting my insurance approval, I was asked if I minded having Dr. Z. I didn't mind at all. I met with him today. He is awesome!! He made me feel VERY comfortable. He answered EVERY ONE of my questions.. The office staff is wonderful!! You girls are GREAT!! and they work VERY hard to answer ALL of our questions as fast as possible!! Either one of these surgeons are very knowledgeable. I found Dr. Z to be very competent & a great bedside manner. I have heard nothing but great comments on them both.. Thanks for being there for all of us!!
I chose Dr. Z as my surgeon. I am over 1 year post op now. I have found him to be there always when I need him!! Very caring about people who are overweight & for our needs as we lose our weight. THanks Dr. Z. You are very special to me!!

I just met Dr. Aslam on Nov. 19, 2002. He was
very efficient, a man of few words. He could be a little friendlier, but I don't fault him for that. He wasn't cold, just all business. He answered my few questions with ease. I know he has an excellent reputation so I feel like I'm in safe hands.
Dr. Aslam performed my surgery on Nov. 29, 2002. All went well. I've had no complications from surgery. I am so pleased with the care and professionalism of Dr. Aslam and his staff.
Thanks!

This Dr. Aslam is A MONSTER of a surgeon the first that I suggest any one to do if suggested to go to him is RUN the opposit way. This so called Surgeon has been Experimenting with lapriscopic surgery on too many people My 4-5 hour surgery took 10 hours Aslam is not stepping up to the plate and saying yes "I" Made a mistake but, no no the fingers were always pointed at me and this includes his wonder nurse with the brown nose personality JEANNIE. I kept going back and calling saying I was hungry something is wrong! there Response was always eat 600 calories a day and you'll lose weight! who the hell wouldn't on 600 calories even with out the surgery!!!. Needless to say I went by the book step by step and I was starving. Dr. Aslam REFUSED to do any follow-ups and I asked. He failed and wanted me gone/brushed off. After a year of this game of back and forth! I truely gave this guy a chance. After basically being shoved out the door with attitude!! Anyway I sought out Dr. Margolis in Waterville who did barium Xrays and endoscopys why Aslam couldn't order that beats me. Probably afraid of what he would see. Then I was refered to Dr. D'Augustine and WOW what a differemt and professinal atmosphere!! Well I had more endoscopys done in Lewiston . they have a dept just for that! My stomach was ""5"" TIMES larger than what it should have been for the surgery!! Damn damn Aslam. I hate that BASTARD. For doing what he did to me. Oh and NO NO it would have been impossible for me to have STRETCHED my stomach out that muvh in that short amout of time. Like I said befor I was literally hungry 2 weeks after my surgery. I had my Revision/correct surgery Oct1,2002 and I feel wonderful and I am NEVER hungry or feel deprived. I've lost 75lbs so far My plea is to ASK ASLAM to please please RETIRE now before you harm others. I've heard so many HORROR stories about you!!! I could write a book but, yet you still pratice! Now that's frightening.
PEOPLE PLEASE BEWARE OF DR. PADIATH ASLAM. THANK YOU, KEVIN J. ROBERGE [email protected]

I really have only met him one time, and that was just for 10 min's in a group presentation. I have observed that his personality is not as engaging as some other's, but who cares? We aren't selecting him for personality. I was pleased to hear, from my great aunt, that her husband had had Dr. Aslam remove some cancer on his face....and they were very happy with him. Also, one of my aunt's dear friends is a nurse in Augusta, and she apparently speaks VERY highly of Dr.A....says he's "the best!" That made me feel so much more at peace with my decision...a confirmation of it.

my first impression was great and still is he is a wonderful man.
