my first impression about dr. carter was really good, he seemed to be very interested in making sure that the patients actually loose the weight after he did surgery by letting us know what to do and what not to do and also by making sure he keeps up with follow up appointments and all. I'm still a big fan of dr. carter, he is a wonderful surgeon and thanks to his good work i'm already back home and running errands like nothing happened (had my surgery on feb. 13th at 8 am, got out the hospital on sunday Feb. 15th and todays date is wednesday Feb18th and i'm doing wonderfully, couldn't be any better).. lol. his office staff is also very friendly, one of his nurses/staff had the surgery herself and that helps a lot, cause u can actually talk to her on how she experienced it herself.

he was very informative when i had the first appointment with him, making sure to let me know the risks and everything that comes after the surgery. he had put me on a liquid diet from my first appointment with him, just to make sure i can follow his diet after the surgery.

dr. carter is very serious about the aftercare, he wants to see his patients until they lost all of their weight to make sure everything is going the way it's supposed to.

dr. carter is a wonderful surgeon and i can not praise him more, anybody that needs a surgeon right here in Fayetteville, NC, go to him.. he's absolutely wonderful

When I met Dr. Carter he was still in his O.R. Scrubs. My first impression was that he was very distinguished. He made sure to explain everything to me. He does spend lots of time with his patients. He is very calm and has a soothing voice. Aftercare is a biggy for Dr. Carter. He wants you to understand that you have to page him if there is any kind of problem. No matter how small you think it is. He stressed supplements and aftercare bloodwork. Out of 1-10 (10 being the best) I would rate Dr. Carter a 10 so far. I have only done a consult at this time. I will be sure to update.
JAN 18th ~ I still rate Dr. Carter a 10. He is a great Doctor. I wish he was more up to date on information to hand out to his patients.

Wow what a doc. He was kind and considerate and made me feel very at ease. Dr Carter took his time to go through all the aspects of the surgery. Couldnt have asked for a better surgeon.

Dr. Carter is really laid back and he gets straight to the point, no BS. He seems a little stricter than some doctors but hey his results are fabulous! And he only does it because he genuionly cares about his patients. After surgery I didn't feel like I saw him enought but what doctor do you really see alot. He is great and I would recommend him to anyone.

My Patient Care Advocate told me to get on here and look around I found another Heather from this area (Hi skinny!) and She told me about Doctor Carter and how Wonderful he is! I got it all approved to go and see him and I was so happy! I had read all about Doctor Carter and got the tingles from the heartfelt out pours about him! The Morning of Sept. 18th I awoke to my Husband with the phone in his hand telling someone we are leaving now (this was at 7am) My appointment was not till 5pm but my hubby awoke and called Dr. Carter's office and asked them how soon could we get an appointment for that day cause of the weather? Well they said if we came right then there was space. So off we went at that time of the morning and storm the winds where only up to 75 miles and hours. Well 5 tailspins and 3 hydro plans later we where there Kids in tow! (By the way My kids where great quite and very understanding of the whole scary trip!) There I was with all my paper work in hand every test need but two and all my letter from the Primary care Doctors, Nutritionist and Pycoloagsit I was set! The office staff is very good at their job but was a very official! When I got back to the room and Dr. Carter came in I was already with my list of Question oh and my Hubby had his ready too. WOW what Can I say BUT WOW!!!! He talked and explained and though I knew a lot He listen And listened and Answered question and really help make me feel like this was going to be the answer to my biggest Question! "Will this work? Will I lose the weight the never seems to leave?" He told me that I have the drive and since I have the drive then I will be able to do this but it is in my Mind! If I am not really ready then I won't make it work! He was so very good about letting me know how much he thought I would make it work for me! My Hat is off and Dr. Cater's is wonderfull I can't wait to have him as my surgeran He is sent from Heaven above and pure Angel!

I first met Dr. Carter on September 4, 03'. He took his time and was very patient. He told me all about the procedure and all the studies I would have to undergo. I had heard horror stories about his staff but they were nice to me and gave me a list of the procedures I would have to have done.

Hello All,
My first impression of Dr. Carter was very good. He seems to be down to earth type of person and straight forward. He listens to you when you talk to him and answers questions honestly and openly. I just meet with Doctor Carter on Sept. 24, 2002 for my intial visit. Now I have to schedule the test that need to be done. He stresses that aftercare is very important. You need to have your mind set that you want to do this, because the surgery is just a "tool" not a cure. If you follow directions from Dr. Carter I can feel this will be a total success. He went over the risk of the surgery. But the way I feel there is a risk in all surgerys. He has been doing this surgery since 1977 and has not lost one patient at all. So I feel really comfortable with Dr. Carter. I am looking forward to the surgery. I have to go see Dr. Carter on the 20th of October. Hopefully all my test results will be back and tricare will approve.

Dr.Carter is a nice, sensitive, truthful, tell it like it is surgeon. My first impression was wonderful. He was in scrubs and tired. He took time to answer every question I had. I feel totally competent in him. I know he is the surgeon for me. I trust him and would recommend him ten times over.
