I HAVE CONSULTATION ON JANUARY 9,2003

Wonderfully patient and down to earth. He has been doing bariatric surgery since the 70's and has grown with the procedure.

Due to some issues with New Hanover Medical Center my initial surgery date was canceled. I call Dr. Carter's office and was given an appointment the same day. Upon meeting his staff I was very impressed. They were the most helpful people. Dr. Carter was very kind and gave information concerning the surgery. Now thanks to him and his wonderful staff I will have my surgery on 6/24/02.

I met Dr Carter on june 5th 2002.I liked him alot and he took the time out to explain everything to me about the surgery and about some of the risks associated with gastric by-pass.I was able to ask questions and never felt intimidated knowing he had other patients waiting to see him.I went to DR Carter because my original surgeon Dr Olchowski, was having some personal problems that had nothing to really do with him,but it was causing some delays in my surgery date and I wasn't sure when things would get resolved. So I have made the decision to let Dr Carter do my surgery, and it is also more conveinent to have it done here close to home, then 2 hrs away in wilmington. But yes Dr olchowski is a great doctor and I have alot of respect for him,and would recommend him to anyone.

This was my first visit with him. I was very impressed with his knowlegde, compassion and the concern he showed for me and with what he expressed about his other patients. His office staff was very freindly and helpful. He is very honest and straight forwarded. Explains the procedure in detail and how he will handle my surgery and what I am to expect after surgery. I was informed I will be given his beeper number and if I feel anything different (pain, hiccups, etc.) at all after I leave the hospital I am to call him immediately. This is a doctor I feel I can trust. He stresses aftercare big time - told me to expect to being seeing him for 10 years, as he follows his patients closely. At this time all's I can say about this Doctor is I feel safe and comfortable in his hands for WLS. His office has taken care of all the paper work. Everyone I have talked to about Dr. Carter has nothing but great things to say about him. The only negative thing I have heard BUT I have never experienced is that you have to wait for your appiontments BUT then I can say he is very through and doesn't rush your exams or questions or answers.

Dr. Carter is the kindest surgeon I've every met. He is soft-spoken, honest and intelligent and once you walk out of his office, you just KNOW he will take very good care of you.

HE SEEMED CONCRNED.

NO

THEY ARE VERY FRIENDLY BUT I HAD
TO KEEP ON THEM TO FILE MY PAPERWORK.

NOTHING

HE ONLY DOES THE THE MAJOR SURGERY.

HE JUST TOLD M TO EAT A LOT OF PROTIEN
AND NOT A LOT OF CARBS.

HE TOLD ME WHAT THAY WOULD BE AND WHAT
COULD GO WRONG.

HE DIDN'T ASK FOR ANY EVALUATIONS JUST CHECKED MY BMI. IT ONLY TOOK 2 MONTHS
TO HAVE MY SURGERY. I THINK HE COULD HAVE DONE SOME TEST.

BOTH ARE GOOD
