Robert Quinlin Bariatric Surgeon M.D.,F.A.C.S.

The first appointment was very hard to get. My appointment is on August 28,2001. I'll let you know after my first appointment my first impression of him and his staff. His office called on August 2nd and told me my
appointment was cancelled. When I called back they gave me a September 4th date. I have been waiting since April for this appointment! Had my appointment on Sept 4th.
Dr Quinlin seems like a very nice man. His office staff seemed very friendly also. I went to my appointment on Sept 25 with my hubby. Dr Quinlin was not only on time but he was early. He sat with us and answered all our questions. He was very friendly and helpful to both of us.

11/6/01 I've decided to go with Dr. Quinlin as my surgeon. I originally met with Dr. Colella, but I've decided I really want the LAP procedure and Dr. Quinlin has greater experience doing LAP RNY procedures. My first impression of Dr. Quinlin and his staff was very good. They seem to have a office that runs very effeciently and the staff is friendly and helpful. My first visit with Dr. Quinlin was pretty brief, but he was very willing to answer all my questions and he discussed the benefits and risks of the surgery. We talked about surgery simply being a tool to help in the battle with obesity. He ordered a upper GI and gallbladder sonogram and set an appointment for me to return in 2 weeks. The second appointment we went over the test results, my wife had a few questions for him, and then I got my surgery date...12/12/01. Unlike other surgeons, he will actually schedule a surgery date prior to insurance approval.

I liked him right a way.
My impression has not changed as of yet.
Very friendly and helpful.
I can't think of anything.
He seems to really care about his patients.
I don't know to much aftercare as yet.
Yes he does have an aftercare program.
He answered all my questions about the risks of surgery.
I can better let you know how I rate him after my surgery.
I am not sure yet.

I have had 2 years of experience with Dr. Quinlan. His office is extremely professional and very caring.
He takes time to explain any questions I had. I do truely beleive he saved my life. When I was stable with my weight loss
He referred me to Dr. Marc Liang. Dr. Liang preformed a Pani and Thighplasty in July of 2001, and I strongly recomend him also.
That procedure was much more painful than the R N Y (lap) I had both procedures done at the same time due to insurance issues.
It has been 3 months since that surgery and all is fine but it was a pretty tough few weeks Post-Op.

Dr. Quinlin is an excellent surgeon, very kind, caring. He performed surgery on me years ago, removed my gallbladder and did the stomach staple. I now have a hernia that needs repaired and I chose to return to him for that and to have gastric bypass. His office staff has been very helpful so far, especially the person doing the scheduling of surgeries and insurance. I have only been to the office twice so far, but each time everyone has been very helpful. I'm not sure about a structured aftercare program yet--haven't talked about that. Dr. Quinlin took as much time with me as I needed regarding questions that I had. I feel both his surgical competence and his bedside manner are excellent. I have nothing negative to say about Dr. Quinlin.

Dr. Quinlan is a very impressive man who seems genuinely caring and respective of his patients. My first meeting with him was very positive and our personalities just seemed to connect. His office staff appear very organized and well trained. On my initial office visit, the wait was only approx. 15 minutes. The second office visit, unfortunately I was delayed in traffic and I called to ask if he could still see me and he did agree even though I arrived 25 minutes late! I was very impressed with him at both visits. He is very thorough and he makes sure you are aware of all aspects of your decision.

First he was "SKINNY" but showed compassion and care
He continues to be very supportive along with the office personnel
I did feel that I was not prepared by him or his staff for discharge to home (with family) or my own nurtitional and psychological changes that were ahead
He will only do the surgery if insurance covers 100% and he is there for you through out any complications
The risks of surgery were definitely addressed but I also have a clotting disorder that he was very cautious of throughout pre and post op
Definitely both...

My first impression of Dr. Quinlin was that he is very educated
He was soft-spoken, but seemed very caring. He looked you right in the eye as he spoke. His office staff was also very caring and did all
of the work to get my surgery approved by
Cigna. They told me if I have any questions to just call them.

As you can see from reading my profile, I was very IMPRESSED with Dr. Quinlin. He seems quiet, but is a sincere and genuinely pleasant person.
Very professional. Informed both my husband and I that if either one of us has any questions to call him any time.
I ended up calling him (before surgery)and was delighted when he returned my call the very same day and answered the few questions that I had.
I recommend him to anyone in the Pittsburgh area who's searching for a truly excellent surgeon.

Dr. Quinlin is a very personable man.
He is truly concerned with his patients
welfare and their attempts to better their
health. His staff is efficient and judicious
in obtaining all the information necessary
for the prompt approval of surgery.
There was nothing that I disliked about the
treatment I have received from Dr. Quinlin
or his staff. The aftercare program was my
responsibility, but if I had any questions,
all I needed to do was call.....Dr. Quinlin
would respond the same day. I think that
Dr. Quinlin is an excellent surgeon and a
caring, responsible individual. His surgical
competence was excellent and his bedside
manner was impeccable, which makes him a
great doctor!
I wish someone had prepared me for
the emotional roller coaster that followed
surgery & was "up-front" about ALL the
vomiting. It's frustrating.......but it's
definitely worth it and in the end I'll have
a better life because of it.
