My first impression was that I was scared of him. Then he began talking too me. I really like that he lets you speak to him. During the hospital stay he was just wonderful. He let me ask questions and he gave me great answers. He also let my husband be apart of it all. rnrnDr. Quinlin was very informative. He expressed all the risks of the surgery...but he also told me the risks of not having the surgery and how my medical problems were going to harm me.rnrnHe is such a great doctor. I tell all kinds of people about him. I make sure that people that I talk to that are thinking about surgery...I tell them of Dr. Quinlin. rnrn

My first impression of Dr. Quinlin was that he was a very pleasant man. I was very impressed with his staff they were welcoming. He knew that I was scared, but he put my mind at ease a week before the surgery and made sure that he explained everything to my family. I think that Dr. Quinlin is one of the best surgeons in his field.

Dr. Quinlin is a very softspoken, professional man who made me feel comfortable right away. I had a list of questions for him and he didn't make me feel like I was being a nuisance in any way. His reputation proceeds him as being an excellent surgeon, so my mind is at ease being in his hands. The staff always answered questions right away and they also get back to you when they say they will. My surgery was approved in two days, which is exactly when the office worker told me that she would call me. The nutrition program is excellent! I went through a 6 month course in which they covered every aspect of aftercare from eating, exercise, vitamins, stress, sleep, and the importance of following the rules afterward. They also give you lifetime followup/care which is amazing! I would recommend anyone having this surgery in the Pittsburgh area to consider Dr. Quinlin for your surgery.

Dr. Quinlin is a very skilled surgeon! My incisions were minimal, and his skill is truly evident. He also has a terrific bedside manor. He always says I can get ahold of him at any time if I have any concerns. But so far, everything is going better than anticipated! Dr. Quinlin is knowledgable, which gives his patients the confidence they've made the right choice.

I was sold on this person from the start, where he went to school and the comments that other people had about him and also what my PCP had to say about him. I know that I am in good hands.

He is a very kind doctor. At first I thought he was a little distant but after i met him one on one that changed. The office staff so far has been very helpful and caring. Dr. Quinlan is very knowledgable about the surgery and he is the best around. I came home eith very good care instructions. I only got the surgery two weeks ago but so far so good.

I first met Dr. Quinlann at the information session in 2005 when I first began trying to get approved for WLS. After I told him about Dr. Corcoulas rejecting me as a candidate for surgery in 2004 because of my medical history and the risks associated with my myriad of conditions, he assured me that the procedure could be done and that while it was not without risks, that everything would be done to lessen them. I was impressed by Dr. Quinlann's forward manner talking about the potential risks and the prevention strategies that he would employ. Well, to make a long story short, I had to appeal denials 4 times and now I am finally going to get the surgery done and over with. I am glad that Dr. Quinlann is doing my surgery!rnrn8/22/07 Dr. Quinlann is the best in my opinion, my rather difficult surgery was performed by his capable hands and was accomplished laparascopically even though other surgeons said it couldn't be done. I have had no complications. His bedside manner could be used as a teaching model so that other physicians could learn a little something about how important it is. The only thing is that if you don't have any problems then your appointment is not lengthy but I can't really complain about that because if I had problems I wouldn't want him to spend all of his time with someone who doesn't have any. I am so impressed with Dr. Quinlann and his staff!!!!!!!!!!

My first impression was of a caring and gentle man who knows his business. This remains my impression.rnThe office staff was the best of any Specialist I ever dealt with.rnI had a one week nurse f/u, a three wk exam by the dr and a five week Drs. exam and adjustment of my band. The next f/u is at week 9. I understand this continues for 6 mo. These first visits were not copay as they were post-op. At some point my $20 co-pay will kick in on subsequent visits.rnRisks of surgery were addressed in detail and questions were encouraged.rnMy overall rating of Quinlin and his tieam (and hospital) is great. Surgical competence is beyond compare! A great bedside manner also helped. I spoke to 2 nurses at St Margaret who had gone through gas bypass with Quinlin and went on to work for him! The whole hospital staff was attentative and great.rnThis may sound too good to be true but it is true. Complaints were only related to the hospitals x-ray dept(poor, uncaring service)

He was so positive and upbeat and 3 months out that is still my impression of him. He is also caring and compassionate and the most responsive doctor I have ever had.rnHis office staff is friendly informative and all around great. rnHis future patients should know he is one in a million in his true caring for you. He is always there for you.rnHe emphasizes aftercare that it is a lifelong commitment between patient and him.rnThere is a support group at St. Margaret's for patients, but not a structured aftercare program.rnHe addresses all the risks but assured me he would be watching everything closely.rnOn a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate him a 100+.rnHIs surgical competence and bedside manner are both fantastic. Never too rushed to answer a question.rnrnReally, I have nothing negative in my personal experience with him to say.
