Robert Quinlin Bariatric Surgeon M.D.,F.A.C.S.

My first impression of Dr. Quinlin was how upbeat and open he was. After the surgery I was even more impressed at how accessible he has been and goes out of his way to help and answer questions. He really cares. The office staff has been very helpful and nice. Future patients should know that they are in the hands of a truly great surgeon who really cares. Aftercare is life long in his practice. The risks were explained but not in a way that terrified you. I rate him as terrific and a great choice of a surgeon. His surgical competence and his bedside manner and his patience are all way above average, actually they are outstanding. My personal experience with Dr. Quinlin has been great. I have heard no negative feedback on him from other patients just positives

Dr. Quinlin came very highly recommended by one of my best friends mother who had the surgery and also used to work along side him as a nurse. He is very attentive, listens well, and helped me in realizing this was the best thing for me to do. Even though some days I can really feel how altered my stomach has become, I do not regret having the surgery at all! rnrn3-13-07rnSaw Dr. Q last week. I'm doing well. He comes in, shakes my hand, checks my belly, asks some ?s and leaves... : ) He is the bomb! I love how he helped change my life.

My first impression of Dr. Quinlin was that he was a very nice well put together man. Very honest.rnI have only been at his office once. The office was clean and the staff was wonderful.rnI am currently seeing Sara at the wellness center. She is great. She keeps me informed and always follows up with her patients. So far Dr. Quinlin and his staff have been great!!!

Dr. Quinlin and his staff are phenomenal. I was so impressed with Dr.Quinlin's confidence and professionalism when I first met him. I knew I would be in good hands from the start. He is very quiet and does not volunteer information but if you have a question he is there to explain things to you and to help you. I have had to call him a couple times and he has always called me back and not made me feel like I was a pain in the butt. His staff was so on the ball and worked with me through every step of this journey. I am so blessed to have found this team.

Hi I met Dr.Quinlin at a seminar.I was very impressed with him.He is very professional ( SHHHH don't tell anyone I said this he's good looking too)I then had a meeting with him. We talked about the surgery.I'm very impressed with his back ground in this field.I'm glad I picked him.His office has nice big chairs. His staff was professional. They made me feel good to be there.I did my research on the internet but i have to say meeting him and talking with him only left me know in my heart I have picked the best doctor.rn
rn
08/09/2006 10:18 PMrnKay, all the best for an uneventful surgery and a quick recovery — Sandy Kabool
rn08/09/2006 07:51 PMrnGOD SPEED, HAPPY HEALING, AND LOTS OF LOSING TO YOU! — Pamela Isaacks
rn08/09/2006 07:06 PMrnWell, Kay, this is finally it. My first impression of Dr. Quinlin was one of overwhelming care and concern for his patients. He has performed these kind of surgeries for over 30 years and truly finds his calling in life by helping others regain their health. His office staff was always more than helpful and courteous to me and my family anytime we have needed to be in contact. Before surgery, he and his office made sure I knew exactly what I was going to be going through. They outlined the risks completely and thoroughly before surgery as well. He did not require a two week or even one week liquid fasting preop like so many other surgeons do. His thought on this, he told me, was that I was going to be on liquids long enough after surgery so why start my misery before surgery. While in the hospital recovering, there wasn't one person on his staff that hadn't been through the surgery themselves. They knew what I was going through. Other than a very inconsiderate nurse in the recovery room who had a know it all attitude, I had awesome care in the hospital. Dr. Quinlin was there daily to make sure everything was going smoothly with my recovery. Periodically, others from his office also stopped in to see how I was doing. After I was discharged, I was sent home with plenty of pain meds as well as detailed care instructions as to what was permissible to eat the first few weeks. There was a very structured post operative guide about what you could begin to eat and when. I heard from his office staff weekly to check on me during recovery. As I travelled over two hours from home for this surgery, his office was very helpful in finding a place for my family to stay while I was hospitalized. Upon discharge, I stayed one more night in the hotel prior to making the trip home and the staff of the hotel was more than accomodating.rnI would rate Dr. Quinlin's mannerisms, skills and program as one of the best I've ever been exposed to. I had been exposed to another program locally before I chose to go to Pittsburgh. It was not half as organized as Dr. Quinlin's was. rnI'd recommend him and UPMC - St. Margaret's to anyone considering this surgery.

Confident, experienced, caring, attentive... All terms I would use to describe Dr. Quinlin... I knew of Dr. Quinlin becuase my wife worked with him initially when we moved here to Pittsburgh. He left West Penn and set up his practice at UPMC St. Margaret which is why I got hooked up with him (had UPMC Health Plan at the time of surgery). Small practice, I knew him and his staff on a first name basis. Excellent surgeon... Woudl recomend him for everyone...

He's just wonderful! Very professional, no bull, he tells it like it is. I appreciate his honesty so much. He's very supportive and encouraging. When I ask him how he thinks I'm doing, he always smiles and says \"you're right on schedule, you're doing wonderfully\". He always makes me feel good about myself at these appointments. It's the ONLY doctor appt. I LOOK FORWARD to going to, since I know I that I'm going to get good news. His office staff is amazing!! SO fast, profficient, polite, funny and the more professional people I've ever come in contact with at a medical office. Kudos to their whole operation!!! They're awesome! Thanks, Dr. Quinlin, for saving my life! Everyday I'm reminded how precious life is, and how greatful I am to have this opportunity to start over with my life. Dr. Quinlin, the Bariatrics nurses, dieticians, office staff, and UPMC St. Margarets - I thank you!
