Baptist Hospital of Pensacola Hospital
My overall experience was good, however there was one time when I had to wait 3 hours for my pain meds. I was there for 5 days and my bed was only changed twice. They had other nurses filling in on my floor at times that were as familiar with the surgery as the reg nurses on that wing.
The "quiet and restfull" experience was poor. IV machines were constantly beeping 24/7. We you are a patient and in pain the last thing you want to hear is an aggrivating constant noise.
The pain control was pathetic! I woke up in recovery moaning in pain and was told to shut up!!! It took over a hour to get pain meds. ordered for me the first day of surgery when I was in agony... My blood pressure shot up incredibly high and it is a wonder I did not have a stroke while waiting on the pain medication.
I was pleased with everyone except the x-ray dept. I had a woman x-ray tech that made me climb on a x-ray table post-op with 27 staples, when she could have raised the machine to a standing level and let me lay down that way. She had no compasion for me at all. I;m not a total whimp, so I toughed it out and did'nt say anything, but now I wished I had.
