My hospital stay at Carilion - Roanoke Memorial was as good as a hospital stay can be - except that the nurses aides had to wake me up every 15 minutes to do their "checklist" - it was rather irritating to say the least. But I was treated very nicely by the staff.

Well there were some really good nurses and there were a few that i will not miss at all. I had to wait a few times for the pain medicine at night and then they said well dont wait so long to ask for it. they need better communication

I GOT ONE NURSE HER NAME WAS SHERRI THAT WAS WONDERFUL BUT OTHER THAN THAT I DIDN'T HAVE A GOOD EXPERIENCE WITH THE HOSPITAL. THEY GAVE ME FOOD I WAS NOT ALLOWED TO HAVE, THE BED WAS TERRIBLE AND NURSES AT NIGHT DIDN'T WANT TO HELP EXCEPT WHEN THEY HAD TO. I WAS NOT HAPPY WITH THE X-RAY TECH AND I JUST DIDN'T HAVE A GOOD EXPERIENCE WITH THIS HOSP. I HAVE HEARD THAT OTHER PEOPLE HAVE HAD GOOD EXPERIENCES BUT I DIDN'T

A teaching hospital where I had a good relationshi with the resident who was assigned to me. I think that he will be a very compassionate and skilled doctor.

Day staff was way better than night staff at responding to pain medicine requests. Took me an hour + at night to get my pain meds. Staff very very nice overall. Possible night shift just very understaffed.

My day of surgery experience was outstanding.I am a nurse but they didnt know and I was treated with respect and
dignity. Everyone involved was great and I couldnt have asked for a better team!!

I would have had a very satisfactory visit had I been able to rest more and had the staff followed my doctors directions regarding my pain meds.

I am a bit biased because this facility I work at. But everyone seemed very nice and concerned. Especially where pain was an issue. The anesthialogit and surgeon made sure my pain was under control. And tried different avenues to get it there.

I was impressed with the after care I recieved at Roanoke Memorial.They were responsive to my needs and accomodating to my husband who stayed with me as well.
