Harper Hospital (Cori Center) Hospital

Harper needs a floor or section dedicated to bariatric patients staffed with nurses who can work with the obese. I had some very callous treatment by a couple of nurses and aides. There was a lot of miscommunication, and some outright neglect by a couple members of the staff. I did have a most wondeful night nurse named Tiny or Itty bitty or something along that line because she was very small. Yet she didn't act like I was some beached whale. Oh, and who could fit in the showers there? You would have to be anorexic to begin with!

I had a wonderful experience at Harper Hospital. The staff went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable and as pain free as possible in every procedure they did. I never had to wait long for a responce from the nursing staff & they went above and beyond ensuring my comfort. I can't say enough good things about them.

I chose poor for the safety I felt while there b/c when I was 1 day postop there was a blackout throught this part of the US and they didn't have very good coordination to deal with it. I was without IV fliuds for the evening and night b/c they didn't have enough light to put it back in. BUT the nurses did let me plug my fan into the emergency outlet, without it I would have wilted away! Overall OK hospital, I just love my surgeon and would have let him do the surgery on the sidewalk if need be, well......

Oh my, the staff was much to be desired, sorry to anyone reading this but the 3 other ladies that I talked with during my stay said the same thing, DR WOOD please get your own staff at that hospital, or find another to accomodate you....some of the nurses were great others were MUCH TO BE DESIRED, very slow and not really attentive. After my cathedar was out, I had to pee no-one believe me and I called my nurse to come and help me out of bed because I had NO TRAPEZE on my bed, and she came about 30min later. I was upset, my boyfriend had to help me my first night in there...she was LAZY!

9th floor is HOT, bring a fan!!! The staff was well trained and attentive. Guest Housing is available for your family to stay in (Not free) and is comfortable. THe only real problem was the showers were way too small to fit into. The doors seemed only about 9 inches wide! Couldn't fit so bathed with wash cloth.
